You can write to DVLA and enclose a payment of £2 (I think) and they will give you the details. Tell them that the driver of the other car hit yours and left the scene and you need the info for insurance purposes.

I know that works in (American) films, but not also in real life surely?

Dog, I wouldn't want to be seen to be encouraging you to do anything iffy, but can tell you that the car is actually a SEAT Altea Stylance Tdi. For your peace of mind, I can also inform you that it IS currently insured.

Oh and don't ask how I know this information please, I just do.

I've done a few enquiries before, and I'm sure it said Diesel, where appropriate then.

Besides, Google Heavy Oil and Diesel together, and they don't pop up in every answer like you'd think they would.

I'm not going to argue the semantics of Googling but Diesel is otherwise known as "Heavy Oil" in the automotive and fuel industry. Whether all heavy oils are known as Diesel is another matter altogether.

Clearly the car in question belongs to Hamster and he is very likely to be the same person that Hatch was referring to earlier.....the robber and rapist. Surely he deserves an infraction for all this?

Take that back. I have never robbed anything from anyone.

Obviously I have wheels, but not wheels in question.

He doesn't know the answer, that's why he won't go into "the semantics" of it. Ponty doesn't know what "heavy oil" is! HAhahahah! A man who claims to work for Kwikfit! Go back to cutting the meat up.

So you used www.askmid.com which is available to anyone???

No, but "anyone", I found this bit interesrting:

" I confirm that the vehicle detailed above is registered, owned or insured by either my employer or myself and is regularly driven by me. I understand it is an offence to wrongfully obtain information of this nature without reasonable cause and if I fail to provide true reasons for acquiring information I may be committing an offence of unlawfully obtaining data contrary to section 55 of the Data Protection Act 1988. I declare that the information provided will not be used for any purposes unrelated to this enquiry. I agree to the terms of use as stated on this web site"

Yes, I am serious, I'm not pretending gain info from other places when you simply got it off askmid.

hth

You aren't pretending are you, and I apologise wholeheartedly to your ego for any damage caused and for not realising that you probably do have access to the PNC (?). Ergo, you actually ARE important, because you actually DO have access to such information.

Fwiw, I was posting tic. No offence intended.

Never said I have PNC access at all if you read up. I know someone who has PNC access on his PDA. Nuff Said

May I refer you back to post 25.

I thought it was you that was important, now we read that is your friend that is able to access important information.

You said "If you want full details, I can get the off of PNC" Now all else aside, you are clearly implying that You have direct access to whatever this PNC thing is. You clearly do not. Exactly what you reckoned I was doing, with the difference being that I was doing so tic (tongue in cheek). Breathe

Are you the new Johny fart c**t??

Yes I can get it off PNC, I can use the PDA next time see the fella. Does not mean I have general access of this just borrowing the PDA for a few mins.

Time out nipper, you are taking this far too seriously, it's starting to affect your typing.

I have to ask though, WTF is a PNC?
