U Tube and copyright

Lots of music vids been removed owing to a copyright dispute at the moment.

It seems that they are going to pull video which has been expressly uploaded by the majors. So if you upload your favourite tune with a home made video it may well not get pulled.

They are only pulling the ones up put by the actual major channels. There's still thousands of music videos not uploaded by these channels. Pretty ineffectuve really in that sense but I guess it's negotiation tactics.

Fair enough really. The music companies ***** that users are posting "their" videos up, without paying royalties, infringing copyright, yet expect to use Youtube for free to promote their artists. It's only right that Youtube have said, "You can't have your cake and eat it".
