Saint Keith Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 ive got to have an injection in my spine this week. do they hurt
Ponty Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Yes, they hurt like hell and one slip can leave you with permanent nerve damage or worse. We'll all be keeping our fingers crossed that nothing bad happens.
Hatch Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 When I had my first born, the midwife took a 5 metre run up before jamming the needle into the spine. She was like Fatima Whitbread on acid.

Saint Keith Posted 9 March, 2009 Author Posted 9 March, 2009 You'll notice afterwards. well apparently there is a 75% chance i shall be fully recovered within about 12 hours
hamster Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Good luck sk, seriously. My little bruv has had them and I am glad it was him and not me. You are a very brave soldier.

Weston Super Saint Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 You're having an epidural under general anaesthetic? Probably just to make sure he doesn't wake up
Saint Keith Posted 9 March, 2009 Author Posted 9 March, 2009 You're having an epidural under general anaesthetic? yes. well done. you can read
JohnnyFartPants Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 yes. well done. you can read I must admit I don't get that, unless you are being knocked out for another operation and then the epidural is being put in for pain relief for your recovery period afterwards. Am I in the right ball park here?

Am I in the right ball park here? no. apparently its to directly inject anti inflammatory, as the tablets ive been taking havent improved it. gives it a huge boost apparently. prolapsed disc
JohnnyFartPants Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 no. apparently its to directly inject anti inflammatory, as the tablets ive been taking havent improved it. gives it a huge boost apparently. prolapsed disc That's an odd way to sign off. Each to their own.
Dog Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 ive got to have an injection in my spine this week. do they hurt Yes the hurt like a kick in the balls.. My mum has just had this operation last week, she is now a spastic, and does a great impression of Sir Joseph Deacon MBE.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Yes the hurt like a kick in the balls.. My mum has just had this operation last week, she is now a spastic, and does a great impression of Sir Joseph Deacon MBE. It sounds like her spine is well biffed up.
Dog Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 It sounds like her spine is well biffed up. It wasn't before. They surgeons hacked through her main nerve, she is now a leg dragger.
Saint Keith Posted 9 March, 2009 Author Posted 9 March, 2009 It wasn't before. They surgeons hacked through her main nerve, she is now a leg dragger. oh yeah, thanks for cheering me up
Dog Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Don't worry Keithy, there is a 50% chance they wont: A, hack B, inject C, sever D, hit E, damage your spinal cord or nerve. At least that is what they told mother. Unfortunatly if they do, you will be dancing with Davros, Hawking and Deacon and drinking doughnuts through a straw & dribbling like a Komodo dragon. Don't sign the form, think of it as a personal insurance.
