N/West Saint Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 I was wondering, if we loose to derby (i dont think we will) that will be 2 games lost on the trot. would that harm the confidence that has been brought back recently? Come on you Saints we need this one.

Frank's cousin Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Think we'll do alright Tuesday, confidence should be good and crowd should be good too with it being a £5 for many..

Come on you Saints we need this one. A home win (over Derby) would not harm their survival chances, but another home defeat for Saints would be catastrophic ! Losing at home isn't good for any team, but (logically) MOST teams win more at home - as they should. Losing tonight (Tuesday) would be a nail in the coffin that we might never be able to survive, even though our away form has been so good, we can't rely on that any more. Barnsley (our nearest rivals above) have 2 games in hand, even if we do win and overtake them. Hard times ! COYR !!!!!!!!!!!
Charlie Wayman Posted 10 March, 2009 Posted 10 March, 2009 We will be relegated to answer your question directly. Tonight is "The Last Chance Saloon" Repeating myself again today, this is a "must win" game but on every occasion when Saints have a "must win" game they ALWAYS conspire to **** it up and lose. I am dreading it. two years ago i went up to Pride park for the play-offs with very great optimism and we won on the night. I cannot even remember feeling that way at any match since. I fear will lose 0-3.
Saint Bones Posted 10 March, 2009 Posted 10 March, 2009 Think this is one of our tougher games this season. I truly think Wotte will have the boys fired up for this one. With luck and early goal for us should see us romp this in and continue our good home form ( of late ) well it sounds good in theory
Saints67 Posted 10 March, 2009 Posted 10 March, 2009 Tonights 'relegation' fixtures which I'll be keeping a nervous eye on: - Barnsley v Birmingham, 19:45 Norwich v Cardiff, 19:45 Reading v Charlton, 20:00 Sheff Utd v Blackpool, 19:45 Swansea v Plymouth, 19:45 Watford v Nottm Forest, 19:45

the saint in winchester Posted 10 March, 2009 Posted 10 March, 2009 Oddly the away team usually wins this fixture, either at St Mary's or at Pride Park - see Oracle p574. We have to beak the cycle and make it a HOME WIN. Wotte won't change a winning team, but as we're not a winning team after Saturday, let's see what changes he makes, if any. Lallana or Paterson in for McG may be the most likely.

Um Bongo Posted 10 March, 2009 Posted 10 March, 2009 It has to be Lallana then, not so much due to his effectiveness, just that Jason Euell has been imense up front I would have: -------Davis---------- James JPS Perry Skacel -------Gillett--------- Spider---------Surman -------Lallana-------- Euell------------Saga If need be, swap Lallana and Surman.
yorkiesaint Posted 10 March, 2009 Posted 10 March, 2009 Derby have quite a few influential absentees, so I am hopeful.... not confident but hopeful.... well maybe i have some hope but am not full of it.... actually i can feel my hope already turning to despair but I'm hanging on the that final thread!! Aaaaahhhh!
