AussieDog Posted 6 March, 2009 Share Posted 6 March, 2009 Get rid of both, as well as John and BWP. With the money saved in wages, put a cheeky bid in for Beattie! I think Beattie and Saga would be ideal foils for each other. Hopefully Paterson will be a good backup.

JustMike Posted 6 March, 2009 Share Posted 6 March, 2009 You have the pick the player that makes the best partner for Saganowski. Personally I'd say Euell as he's fitter, more mobile and works harder. I'd back Euell-Saga to score more goals and work harder for the team than Rasiak-Saga. Age is irrelvant in this case as it's only two years adn Rasiak's age based on his fitness and willingness to run is 125. spot on.
saintwarwick Posted 6 March, 2009 Share Posted 6 March, 2009 His time at Watford has been nearly as poorly managed as it was here. That said the same could be attributed to Euell. But at the end of the day Rasiak has proven season after season that it's not a fluke...He put's the spherical object into the big netty thing time after time...And I am really not sure where this impression of Euell being a workhorse has come from less the last three games. Good god I hope it continues and I thought he was a good signing when we got him but he's hardly done sod all since getting here. Not exactly true, he has been hit and miss as these stats show: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grzegorz_Rasiak

Cabrone Posted 6 March, 2009 Share Posted 6 March, 2009 Rasiak for me. Goals win games and the big Pole has proven to me that he knows where the net is. Sure, we may have to adjust our playing style but its worth it for a 20+ goal haul. That kind of scoring rate really takes the pressure off the rest of the team. Euell has played well recently and has his merits but he isn't a 20 goals a season striker.

Ricky Redstripe Posted 6 March, 2009 Share Posted 6 March, 2009 Jason Euell. Now he is playing in his better position, we are seeing what he can really do. Rasiak is too lazy, Euell will work more for the team.
egreog Posted 6 March, 2009 Share Posted 6 March, 2009 Anyone except Rasiak......hopefully he is history.......genuinely think he has delusions as to how good he is!!.......but I guess the recent stats wouldn't make great reading!!

Greedyfly Posted 8 March, 2009 Share Posted 8 March, 2009 Not exactly true, he has been hit and miss as these stats show: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grzegorz_Rasiak As we all know stats very rarely tell the full story. Though what you could deduce from that is that any time he has been given lengthy appearances (and I'm not talking the 2 min ones that he's got here and at Watford) he averages 1 goal every 2 games. That IS a good strike rate. 66 (34) 41 (18) and 62 (24) That last stat being at Southampton where I suspect 15+ were those ****ing annoying 5 min spells Burley use to give to random substitutes at random times to improve a grand total of **** all. Don't get me wrong I don't think Rasiak is Ronaldo (the Brasilian - not the Portuguese tit) but he does what he does. Fully agree with St Stevo post, the hype now surrounding a rejuvenated Euell is quite frankly humerous.

Fully agree with St Stevo post, the hype now surrounding a rejuvenated Euell is quite frankly humerous. Granted some of Rasiak's goals must have come when he has come off the bench, but Soccerbase have that in his 113 starts he has scored 50 goals. Take out his sub appearances (haven't managed to take out the goals with them mind) and it looks like : Watford 4 in 9 Bolton 0 in 2 Saints 24 in 45 Spurs 0 in 4 Derby 18 in 41 That's a pretty healthy return when he gets a settled start in a team. I still can't get my head around how Burley treated both Saga & Rasiak following the play off season. IMHO Rasiak knows where the net is when he's a regular. As for Euell, then I have always thought he was a good player, but just thought he probably needs to be treated the right way. Under Pearson he blossomed and it would appear that Wotte is also getting the best out of him. Two totally different players for me. If you want someone who will score, then it has to be Rasiak, if you want someone to put it about, mix it up and provide some leadership then Euell. eelpie Posted 8 March, 2009 Share Posted 8 March, 2009 Rasiak scores for Watford earning them a win instead of a draw. So lending him out to another CCC club is probably going to be more disastrous and expensive - if relegation is between us and them at the end of season match - than keeping him here!
