alpine_saint Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 How odd that a match against Ipswich signalled the beginning of the end of Lowe's first tenure at Saints, whereas a match against Ipswich may well signal the end of the beginning of his second tenure...

trousers Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 Also didnt he watch them when he was a boy? I used to watch tractors when I was a boy. I don't like them any more though. I'm now an extractor fan.

bungle Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 How odd that a match against Ipswich signalled the beginning of the end of Lowe's first tenure at Saints, whereas a match against Ipswich may well signal the end of the beginning of his second tenure... In what way?
Pancake Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 end of the beginning of his second tenure... How are you defining the end of the beginning? or, more importantly, what you actually mean by that phrase?
OldNick Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 How are you defining the end of the beginning? or, more importantly, what you actually mean by that phrase?i think I used Churchills expression not the beginning of the end but the end of the beginning in a post about Wotte and our results. It of course the way Alpine has put it either way although after the results I would think my interpretation.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 In what way? I am struggling with that too. Is it to suggest that the honeymoon period everyone afforded Lowe is now over (tongue firmly in cheek).
Scudamore Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 A thread this confusing could do with a few :rolleyes:
slickmick Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 I am struggling with that too. Is it to suggest that the honeymoon period everyone afforded Lowe is now over (tongue firmly in cheek). The way I interpretated was that Lowe may well be on the start of a calm period with the lynch mob backing off for now.
alpine_saint Posted 4 March, 2009 Author Posted 4 March, 2009 think he means he wants lowe here permanently! Dream on. However, I am open to persuasion. I wrote on here during early summer that I would give him a chance. Then he booted Pearson out. I am sure he will do something between now and next season to shatter my new-found willingness to bury the hatchet....
alpine_saint Posted 4 March, 2009 Author Posted 4 March, 2009 A thread this confusing could do with a few :rolleyes: Not very bright, are you ?
alpine_saint Posted 4 March, 2009 Author Posted 4 March, 2009 The way I interpretated was that Lowe may well be on the start of a calm period with the lynch mob backing off for now. Someone has a brain. Good on yer..
JohnnyFartPants Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 A thread this confusing could do with a few :rolleyes: May I suggest that if you do, you try something like quoting the original post on the thread and adding, "yeah, whatever" then going into wobbly eyed smiley mode. This will maximise effect and prove you as the winner.

I am sure he will do something between now and next season to shatter my new-found willingness to bury the hatchet.... Think your post on one of the others is fair - all fans can do is give any player or manager (or even chairman) a chance, that was why I was p1ssed of with a few a couple of weeks ago writing off and becoming hysterical about Wotte (didn't think he would start this well tho)
ottery st mary Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 think he means he wants lowe here permanently! God no.. please leave SOON Rupert. If you stay all your Cheerleaders, Ra Ra girls, Majorettes will stick around and we will have so much fun on this forum. Winning games and having fun with your Rat Pack. I just don't know if I could take it anymore.
Scudamore Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 Not very bright, are you ? Well obviously...i'm a Lowe Luvvie after all...how could i possibly be as bright as you?
Scudamore Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 Someone has a brain. Good on yer.. alpine saint the self appointed IQ tester to SWF Everyone who can solve his riddles gets a pat on the head...

I am sure he will do something between now and next season to shatter my new-found willingness to bury the hatchet.... Blinkin' flip. Alps, what have you been drinking? 3 pints of 'ole reasonable' at 8.5% ABV? ;-) Or some of that Austrian Monk home brew? TBF, thats all and anyone else from the the fence sitting side can ask, a willingness to see possitives when some actually exist - no problem with doom and gloom if it is really doom and gloom, but teh last few results do give us a chance. The question is can we seize it? Also what will Lowe do next? Or what will he be blamed for next? I suspect and I herewith maketh a prediction and use my Cyrstal Ball - that come the summer we see departures of some of the very players now seen as our potential saviour and we will go through teh same round of arguments about wether this is necessary due to finances or just Lowe being a nutc.... ;-)
OldNick Posted 4 March, 2009 Posted 4 March, 2009 Alpine were you the fan living in Vienna who sent in a e-mail to Radio Hants about his son now being a Liverpool fan as he didnt want to be assosiated with losing.Well he can hold his head up this week.

No, I live a lot further south than Vienna. No worries. He told me he wanted to support Manyoo a while back for similar reasons. I told him to find himself somewhere else to live.......
alpine_saint Posted 4 March, 2009 Author Posted 4 March, 2009 It was an irrelevant point inarticulately made. More likely it was completely over your head.....
