Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 18 March, 2009 Posted 18 March, 2009 What a spiffing thread. I too discovered Haslet about 2 months ago. Asda sell about 17 or so medium slices for £2. Bargain. I have it with some salad and salad cream. My body is a temple and all that.
bungle Posted 8 July, 2009 Author Posted 8 July, 2009 Had a bit of a 'break' from haslet, but had a granary roll with haslet, tomato and wholegrain mustard in today. Excellent stuff.
bungle Posted 8 July, 2009 Author Posted 8 July, 2009 Is it like posh Spam? Never thought of it like that before. I will need to consider the implications of endorsing your statement.
Ponty Posted 8 July, 2009 Posted 8 July, 2009 Its a poor mans spam. No wonder I've never tried it then. I don't like Spam.
bungle Posted 1 September, 2009 Author Posted 1 September, 2009 Bought some haslet from co-op deli counter on Sunday. Very disappointed with it. Not much flavour.
St Landrew Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 Well if Hamster is going to post pictures of Ron Haslam on a food thread, then I'm going to admit to watching The Hairy Bikers trip to Lincolnshire, where they came across and ate Pork Haslet, and thought it was superb. Kind of brings it full circle. Nice pic, Hammy.
sotonjoe Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 isn't it something eaten by people who can't afford decent quality sliced meats?
