eelpie Posted 2 March, 2009 Posted 2 March, 2009 Was it controversial? Kennedy raised his hand to intercept the ball, surely. Did Dave Jones or anyone else query the refs decision? I didn't see Cardiff players protesting. I thought it was a clear-cut decision. Poor BBC reporting or fair comment?
OldNick Posted 2 March, 2009 Posted 2 March, 2009 I must say it was a clear cut pen for us. Apart from that if we had the rub and not got a decision like Perrys handball Id be well upset today. Im a great supporter of Kelvin but he called for the ball and then didnt come , which caused the confusion.
saint_ed Posted 2 March, 2009 Posted 2 March, 2009 Perry's handball was a stonewall penalty....as was Kennedy's.
Bailey Posted 2 March, 2009 Posted 2 March, 2009 Clear-cut in my opinion. Having said that, Perry's was just as blatent and we were fortunate to get away with that, although we're due a bit of luck!
eelpie Posted 2 March, 2009 Author Posted 2 March, 2009 So the BBC should have pointed out that not awarding a penalty for Perry's handling was controversial, but Kennedy's was deserved. Ambiguous reporting. Thanks for clearing that up.
krissyboy31 Posted 2 March, 2009 Posted 2 March, 2009 Jones complained about it in his after match interview but probably in the context that the Ref saw the Kennedy incident as a penalty but the Perry one, not.
