Weston Saint Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 According to Herbie Taylor (SMS tour guide) Under is a part of his post on Saintslist which I hope he will not mind me reproducing "I can tell you there is a great atmosphere in the dressing room. Kelvin Davis takes his role as captain very seriously and mixes humour and discipline in his approach to all aspects off the field. You can bet your life one or two of the lads have ben reminded of their responsibilities. The players look up to him and he relishes his responsibility. My spies tell me it is a happy dressing room, Rudi Skacel is smiling a joking again and looks much more contented, maybe he feels needed. So well done Mark Wotte and his staff. You only had to see the joy and relief on the players faces at the final whistle to see what it meant to them." Good positive stuff
thorpie the sinner Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 Thats exactly what we need!! I almost get the feeling if we go i down away from home, we will battle back now as opposed to laying down and dying!! Bring it on!
Iowsaintsfan Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 good to see these sort of stories starting to appear now
saintwarwick Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 Great news and good to see the huddle at the end of the game as well. To me Skacel looked a much more relaxed player and he seemed to enjoy himself and was geeing up the youngsters.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 Great our players our happy and we remain in the bottom 3! Win, win id say!?

Good positive stuff Team spirit plus a decent bunch of players and a natural blend is the recipe for success, even if success this season is avoiding relegation. Next season, the obvious thought, No Davis, Euell, Saganowski?, maybe Skacel, if we go down Saeijs. That would need good experienced free transfers and loans to fill the gap. Or another go at total football. I'm not holding my breath.
View From The Top Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 A pity 2/3 of the season had passed before anything good starts. Well done Lowe for your stupid Dutch experiment.
southamptonfclegend Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 A pity 2/3 of the season had passed before anything good starts. Well done Lowe for your stupid Dutch experiment. not that much good really happened last season before Pearson tbf but yes Lowe's stupidity to sack a manager the fans loved and employ somebody who didn't know the league, teams, players etc may still cost us dearly
dubai_phil Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 It's amazing isn't it. All over the UK there are hundreds of consultants and companies who specialise in running "Team Building Events" for businesses. It is a very clear concept in business that TEAM's are IMPORTANT, and that teams have dynamics and roles and positions. And yet here we are, a Football Club operating in a TEAM game, where after 2/3rds of the season, the so called businessmen in charge recognise that maybe we need to build a team spirit..... As others say on here from time to time - you couldn't make it up

OldNick Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 I was giving out this message a few weeks back. There is a togetherness.
Saint Martini Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 All the more reason to give Davis a new contract ASAP!
red&white4life Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 I think you should have asked Herbie before posting this. whilst it is very encouraging to read Herbie has said on many occaissions that he prefers his posts to remain "on list". Col.

Col. Col, I just felt the message was so positive I am sure Herby does not mind. If he does ask him to say so on the list and I will contact him.
Pilchards Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 Col, I just felt the message was so positive I am sure Herby does not mind. If he does ask him to say so on the list and I will contact him. I too posted something on this forum regarding comments made by Herby and he was not happy at all although I praised him to the hilt in my article. (I would contact him m8) Anyway its great to hear how the team are working as a unit and lets hope its not too late because all teams at the bottom intend to do the same thing at this time of the season.
Saint_clark Posted 1 March, 2009 Posted 1 March, 2009 All the more reason to give Davis a new contract ASAP! Agreed. Maybe we should bombard the club with emails and letters demanding he be given a new contract right now.
