scott_saints Posted 3 March, 2009 Share Posted 3 March, 2009 WHEN they catch the scum that did this they should lock them up and throw away the key. I think the prisons are pretty full as it is. Locking up people for throwing a punch or two wouldn't help.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 3 March, 2009 Share Posted 3 March, 2009 Not wishing to generalise, but having lived in a garrison town at one time, I know that some armed forces personnel are well up for a fight. I hope he recovers quickly and completely. Not wishing to generalise, but having lived in Southampton all my life, I know that some of the residents are well up for a fight. Legod Third Coming Posted 3 March, 2009 Share Posted 3 March, 2009 Surely to goodness there were enough people around who saw this? The blokes who posted on the bluebirds site for starters... And if people were in the CA drinking when a game was on, they must be locals. No doubt there are different stories and it doesn't sound like the intention was to floor the poor fella but just come forward and save us all grief and money, for gawd's sake. wild-saint Posted 3 March, 2009 Share Posted 3 March, 2009 Walking from the stadium with my six year old son and 40 year old sister I was subject to lots of intimidating behavior / agressive words from Cardiff fans by the coaches. Also near london road we were given more abuse by cardiff fans driving by in a minibus. A little verbal retatiation by my sister ended in the bus stopping and a bunch of lads piling out of the bus to start some trouble with a women for gods sake. My boy was partiuclarly scared by the incident IMO the majority of the fans were scumbags, bad losers looking to take it out on anyone who dared look in thier direction let alone respond to any intimidation. No sympathy for any of them personally. What goes around comes around.

Hatch Posted 3 March, 2009 Share Posted 3 March, 2009 If this wasn't a football related incident and it wasn't Saints supporters that did it. Why is there a 4 page thread on this forum? Shouldn't it be in the lounge or something. Oh, and it wasn't me that did it should the Police be reading this, so strike me off the list.

Junior Mullet Posted 3 March, 2009 Share Posted 3 March, 2009 Make of this what you will - purportedly from the licensee of the CA: As the licensee of The Chapel Arms I would like to make a couple of points regarding this attack.Chris had been drinking in the pub prior to this attack and the atmosphere between the Cardiff fans and Home fans was jovial and in good spirits. The attackers were not "Fans" just sad little boys trying to play the big man and using football as their excuse. The attack wasn't football related and happened from behind which just shows the cowardice of these "big men". Chris and his friends were a pleasure to have and as a young man who has just returned from Afghanistan should be show a little respect not slated. Some of you are making hero's out of the cowards that did this, when the real hero is the young man who has just returned after serving OUR country! This backs up what the lads mate has said and backs up that it had nothing to do with football. Fact is we don't know what was said or done but the old bill will work it out in time. Too often you see people kicking off in town - the winner becomes a villain and the loser becomes the hero - not saying that is what has happened here mind because we dont know - but just look at any courthouse up and down the country and you'll see how it goes. Moral of the story - (unless you really don't give a fook) don't lose your senses by becoming intoxicated unless you are certain that you are in safe surroundings. Take that from someone who had his skull fractured in a similar sounding incident several years ago. I've always managed to avoid trouble when I've been sobre. Whatever the circumstances, whoever they are, nobody should get seriously hurt just by going to or by being associated with a game of football. 'he's just a guy who loves football, but he's not an idiot just a family man' funny that, wasnt jamie turner described as being just that? it is sad what has happened to the boy but he found what he was looking for, live by the sword and all that. i am sad about the state he is in but i have no sympathy.......it just doesnt wash with me im afraid. Massimo Osti Posted 3 March, 2009 Share Posted 3 March, 2009 When the Police study the cctv footage of Britannia road coming away from the stadium towards the pub at about 14.45-14,50 on Sat afternoon they will clearly see a lad in a pink jumper with a small black bird logo on the chest, most probably the American designer Modern Amusement. When they look at this footage they will see someone full of drink trying to goad ,swear at and walk into some obviously uninterested people walking up to the match. If indeed this is the same boy who has ended up in hospital then in all honesty he really did find what he was looking for . If this was the same lad who called me a sh!t as he stumbled past in this very distinctive jumper he wont remember me or what an arse he made of himself trying to get some scarfers to react to him. If its not him then the poor lad in the Chapel Arms could well be yet another innocent victim of a violent society. But sadly I have my doubts Best wishes to the lad and his family I really hope he pulls through , When he does his family need to have a serious chat with him about his future conduct when out on the lash in a strange town or city. EastleighSoulBoy Posted 3 March, 2009 Share Posted 3 March, 2009 There's a couple of comments which appear to come from the Licensees of the Chapel Arms? IF this guy was as drunk as many have said on here I'm wondering why the licensees of any pub had served him. I always understood that it's actually against the law to serve someone who is intoxicated? Yes, I know it happens every day of the week. Are the licensees of the Chapel covering their rather exposed derrières? Any further news on this lad than what is in the local rag?
