lordswoodsaints Posted 20 August, 2008 Posted 20 August, 2008 anybody remember the large religous rallys/meetings that used to be held at the dell during the summer months.it was a regular occurance by the mormons or some other group?? who used to hire the dell out for their annual knees up. i dont know if st marys has been used for the same thing but perhaps it is time for this to be encouraged, not only will it be a nice little earner but it could also buy us a bit of favour with the gods.

They were at the Birmingham game about 10,000 souls.Did you not pray along with them at half time to hold onto the lead? The other 7,000 were some other nutters who had followed the Saints faith for years.
ladysaint Posted 20 August, 2008 Posted 20 August, 2008 They were all born again christians I think, did Billy Graham ever make an appearance or did I dream that?
bridge too far Posted 20 August, 2008 Posted 20 August, 2008 They were all born again christians I think, did Billy Graham ever make an appearance or did I dream that? I'm pretty sure I remember Billy Graham being at the Central Hall (not that I went, I hasten to add )

dubai_phil Posted 20 August, 2008 Posted 20 August, 2008 Unfortunately we will not be able to use SMS for a religous gathering. As we actually are already aware, since it was cursed, it's been used by nasty black magic witches who ensure that anything to do with the club goes wrong and who's early arrival at the ground means that any attempt to turn the pitch into "hallowed" ground just goes up in smoke, along with all our money
itchen Posted 20 August, 2008 Posted 20 August, 2008 I think SMS has been used by some Christian sect or other. And I vaguely remember some other religion having a rally there (although I might have dreamed that).
itchen Posted 20 August, 2008 Posted 20 August, 2008 you are right i do remember billy graham being advertised as making an appearance. Many people are advertised as appearing at Central Hall. As we know, they often don't turn up.

rpb Posted 20 August, 2008 Posted 20 August, 2008 It was Jehovah Witnesses at the Dell. Indeed it was - they then used to call on every door in Shirley for the following week.
Pongo Posted 20 August, 2008 Posted 20 August, 2008 Indeed it was - they then used to call on every door in Shirley for the following week. I always chat with them and try to convert them to atheism.

buctootim Posted 20 August, 2008 Posted 20 August, 2008 Is he still doing his "Alien Lizard" show? I used to work with David Icke when he was at BBC South. Weird bloke even before the alien stuff.
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 21 August, 2008 Posted 21 August, 2008 Perhaps they can find where the Pompey shirt is buried and perform some sort of cleansing ceremony. Maybe spray some holy water over the centre circle and see if black/blue fumes start coming out of the ground?
