StuRomseySaint Posted 27 February, 2009 Posted 27 February, 2009 Who's doing it this year then? Can't wait! Hoping for Oasis on Sunday, anyone heard any more info?
Iowsaintsfan Posted 27 February, 2009 Posted 27 February, 2009 Ive heard a rumour that it will be Oasis but nothing for sure, i will be there but i will be working as normal
StuRomseySaint Posted 28 February, 2009 Author Posted 28 February, 2009 tbf U2 would be as good as Oasis, if not better. Been doing some research and they look a good bet!
Iowsaintsfan Posted 28 February, 2009 Posted 28 February, 2009 Oasis are touring during the festival but have the festival weekend off so could be an act? either would be good
Rattlehead Posted 28 February, 2009 Posted 28 February, 2009 I have seen Oasis live at a big festival and they were utter turd. Probably be fine for the inbreeds on the Pile of Sh*te though.

From what ive read u2 very rearly do festivals. They dont want to risk their live reputation on dodgy sound equipment that they dont trust. Metallica are very similar and actually demand to have their own sound tech's for when their set turn comes round.

True, but IOW set up on Sundays sound and stage for their final act, 2 years ago with the Rolling Stones they even set up their tour stage with the moving stage set.
Scummer Posted 5 March, 2009 Posted 5 March, 2009 Neil Young has just been announced as headlining Sunday night.

Julian H. Cope Posted 7 March, 2009 Posted 7 March, 2009 Blue Mercedes were confirmed this morning. Big rumour on 2CR that Then Jericho are headlining Sunday night after Neil Young went down with Lassa Fever.
Julian H. Cope Posted 7 March, 2009 Posted 7 March, 2009 Great band. I modelled myself on Mark Shaw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40ir2qeru5s&feature=related I've got the hots for you now, Deppo.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 10 March, 2009 Posted 10 March, 2009 Neil Young... what a load of tosh! my thoughts exactly
Pancake Posted 10 March, 2009 Posted 10 March, 2009 my thoughts exactly Philistine. Go and download yourself a copy of "After The Gold Rush", sit down and listen to it, then listen to "Harvest".

It was ment in the terms of what was rumoured to be the headline act on Sunday. I am still open minded and will go have a listen to your suggestions

Hamilton Saint Posted 12 March, 2009 Posted 12 March, 2009 I can't believe the negative comments about Neil Young on here. "What a load of tosh"? "Whoopdeedoo"? I can't let comments like that go! I can only assume that you people are ignorant of his work. Or have never seen him live before. Or don't like rock 'n' roll. Here are a few superb albums of his you ought to check out: Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, After the Goldrush, Rust Never Sleeps. And there are many more excellent ones! Neil Young - one of the true greats of rock music. Still putting out good music after all these years. And he's kept his integrity intact. "Hey, hey; my, my; Rock 'n' roll will never die"

The man is an absolute legend.
