iPod Touch freezes

My wifes iPod keeps on freezing and turning off for "no reason", and then you cant turn it back one. Normally, after about 10 mins, you can get it to power up again with a few random button presses.

 

Any ideas Apple-heads?

No idea as don't have one. First thing I would suggest is does she have the latest firmware?

Indeed she does. It only seems to happen when she is listening to a long audio book or after a sustained period of wifi usage (45+ mins).

Restore the original settings through iTunes and don't upgrade the firmware again until you've recreated the circumstances under which it's crashing.

I thought it was a fact that nothing made by Apple ever went wrong?

Sometimes it does freeze when you are using a certain problem app or problem song. For example mine freezes all the time on fring. Has she got the latest 2.2.1 firmware?
