TheSaint75 Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 I don't think it was in Dubai, it was either Cambodia or Vietnam as one of the guys lives there
SoccerMom Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 Oh dear, just got back from Dubai last week. Hope these weren't the blokes applauding the nipper's red and white when we were walking around the souks - they were OK.
Langleysaint Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 Two top lads , my thoughts are with their families. RIP.

TheSaint75 Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 How did they die? Lets just say mis-adventure
shepherds bush saint Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 I'm in Vietnam for a few days at the moment, ain't seen anything on the news here...
Marsdinho Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 Im confused... The original post says that the saints fans were killed in cambodia, then everyone starts talking about Dubai. Have I missed something.

Master Bates Posted 26 February, 2009 Author Posted 26 February, 2009 the original post said dubai, it has since been edited +1 my brother was friends with these two lads, he was shocked and wanted to know what happened. Does anyone know? both men were found with bloodied noses and it is thought they died of drugs overdoses after taking a form of heroin. ...
TheSaint75 Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 I believe they thought they were doing something other than heroin.....think Pulp Fiction!!
Danny Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 I heard about Dave a couple of days ago. I'd been good mates with him for a few years. Talk about a shock. RIP mate.
Lets B Avenue Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 I've known Dave for years and I'm absolutely stunned by the news. Went to buy the echo before coming on here and I just stood in the shop trying to take it in. He was a top bloke and a genuine saints fan. Seen him at numerous away games, including Bucharest and I walked back with him from the Doncaster debacle last month, discussing where to go in Div 3 next year. His media work involved reporting for such tomes as the Sport, which we took the **** out of, but he did arrange for a couple of their page 3 birds photo shoot behind the bar of our local, which got a couple of my mates their 15 mins of fame. RIP, Big Dave.

Mole Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 Bit of a stupid thing to do though. Sad but still stupid. Everyone (most people) have experimented in their time. It's sad that these two got unlucky.

La BoIS Saint Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 Everyone (most people) have experimented in their time. It's sad that these two got unlucky. More than 50% of people have taken heroin? I always love that word "experimented". RIP

PhilB Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 Very sad indeed but how do you "mistakenly" take a form of heroin.
Danny Posted 26 February, 2009 Posted 26 February, 2009 Very sad indeed but how do you "mistakenly" take a form of heroin. Looks like they asked for Cocaine and were given Heroin instead.
dubai_phil Posted 27 February, 2009 Posted 27 February, 2009 Very very sad story, which should be read by anyone considering trekking in that part of the world and may hopefully save some other poor souls in the future
alpine_saint Posted 27 February, 2009 Posted 27 February, 2009 Very very sad story, which should be read by anyone considering trekking in that part of the world and may hopefully save some other poor souls in the future Not read the story but are you sure the problem wasnt partaking in illegal drugs, rather then travelling through that part of the world ???
dubai_phil Posted 27 February, 2009 Posted 27 February, 2009 Not read the story but are you sure the problem wasnt partaking in illegal drugs, rather then travelling through that part of the world ??? Read the link provided and you see the answer is yes to both, but nobody can moralise on a fans forum at a time like this about the merits of lifestyle choices.
Mole Posted 27 February, 2009 Posted 27 February, 2009 Very very sad story, which should be read by anyone considering trekking in that part of the world and may hopefully save some other poor souls in the future Let's hope you're right. People are always going to take class A drugs so lecturing is pointless, so if one lesson is to be learnt i'd say just take a small amount first (and let it do it's business) before getting wasted. Yeah i know just a small amount of poison can be fatal, but let's be realistic - the smaller the amount the less chance it can be fatal.

Saint Fan CaM Posted 27 February, 2009 Posted 27 February, 2009 Stupid waste of life - sad yes - but if you play with fire expect to get burnt.

The point is, if you're going to take the sh!t, be sure that what you're taking is what you think it is.
