LaptopSaint Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 Looking at their away record -- 4-10-2 -- you'd have to put your money on a draw. I'd settle for that if the performance level remains the same. And because I think we can win at either Ipswich or (yup) Brum. I'd love to get six points from the next three games. (Actually I'd love to get nine, but I'm trying to stay vaguely realistic). But I'd settle for five with (after that) a slightly easier run of games to come.

Toomer Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 I would hope for the same starting line up against Cardiff (apart from one) and if the players show the same comitment and desire I think we could get a result.
brightspark Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 Its funny how one win always kickstarts belief that we can actually do this... But, despite my heart telling me we are getting ready for an escape, my head still knows that the club is a rotten sausage. I can't believe that we will win 2 in a row. I can't believe it will happen. We will draw or lose. For positive, battling sakes, I will go for a 2-2.
eelpie Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 Well Cardiff could only draw this weekend against an off-form Wolves, despite a long line of wins, so perhaps the table will lie again. But a draw is realistic. 2-2
Sheff Saint Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 Umm. A point would be ok. Reckon we'll get beat at Ipo but half a chance against Brum i reckon (Got my ticket this morn so fingers crossed!) Need 4 points min from those three games really.
sotonswan Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 Plenty of aerial ball/general pressure please. I'm sure you're aware:- a) Cardiff tempoarary keeper Dimi Konstantopolous, unchallenged, pushed an aerial cross into his own net v Wolves b) He was playing for Swansea before Xmas (including his excellent game v Pompey). It won't take much for the Cardiff fans to turn on him. Could be a whole lotta fun. I shall be at this game
slickmick Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 Crucial we win this one because I can't see us getting much more than a point from our following 2 away games against Ipswich and Brum.
BotleySaint Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 If we keep the team the same and they work as hard as they did against Preston and score first, then we should win 2-1. That's my prediction. If Cardiff score first, we'll lose 2-3-0.
scott_saints Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 I think people need to realise that despite our win, we're still s**t and will lose. Probably...
Saints67 Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 Having correctly predicted the weekends 3-1 win against Preston on another thread I will predict a 2-0 Saints win against Cardiff. Using these new powers I can predict Saints safe this season, investment in the summer and the removal of 'The Hated One'. HTH
Mole Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 We have to win this game IMO. If we do win then it's game on with Forest on the slide.

saints_is_the_south Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 Despite Saturday i can't see us winning this one, Cardiff are imo a lot better side than Preston. 2-1 Cardiff IMO.
Stax Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 Form says to beat Cardiff would almost be impossible as they have only lost 2 on the road, and they could go top as they have games in hand. Always the optimist 2-2!

I can, we played Saturday, Cardiff played yesterday, have to play on Wednesday then us on Saturday. Hopefully Cardiff will be tired after a busy week.
labibs Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 I live in Cardiff and people up here are talking about Cardiff getting automatic promotion this season! They are very solid and now have Chopra doing well for them and Quincy on loan. I wouldn't be surprised if we lost this game despite playing well and I hope people don't take it as a sign that things aren't working if we do lose. I'd be very happy if we could take a draw from this one.
SaintDonkey Posted 23 February, 2009 Posted 23 February, 2009 I'd be very happy with a draw. Cardiff are a very good side and would have beaten the league leaders away yesterday if not for a freak error by the keeper. I look forwards to all the doomsayers who'll state that it's a must win game and if we don't beat them then we're surely relegated (and of course Wotte will *have* to go). And then I'll point out that the game after Nigel 'the messiah' Pearson got his first win we were thrashed 5-0, drew the next game and then were beaten by Cardiff.

But we weren't 2nd from bottom and at least 4 points short of the safety margin and we have Notts Forest away last game of the season. We have a lot of ground to make up and everybody at the bottom are winning games.
