Important decision for Wotte

Keep the same team I reckon.... if it was an away game I'd be advocating Wotton playing instead of either Lallana or DMG but we are at home, we've just won, no team in this league is much good so keep it as it is.

He's too lightweight at the moment, no end product and doesn't get in where it hurts, besides he hasn't scored since QPR, Mcgoldrick had a better game on Sat and is probably a more likely scorer.

 

He may struggle to hold onto right midfield as Schneiderlin is available again.

 

thanks once again for putting me straight on Lallana but I don't share you opinion on him as a player. He has been way off the pace for a long time now but I put that down to two things, firstly playing him out wide and secondly him getting injured. Get him fully fit (he looks short to me) and get him in the middle and we will see the best of him.

he said on radio he came back too early and needed injections after first game back, but has been fully fit just struggling now to find form.

Cardiff's away form is interesting as they've lost only twice but drawn ten games. So odds on a draw.

People say that we shouldn't change a winning formula, but Cardiff are a different team to Preston. The team that we put out on Saturday would get bullied by the Cardiff lads. I agree that we need to be playing Euell and Saga up front together, and I think this might work:

With Surman and Skacel switching roles to cover each other, Skacel is a much more accomplished winger and would provide some great service for Saga and Euell but I think that Surman works much better in midfield than in defence, so Skacel is stuck at left back for the time being. Sufficient steel in the centre of the park with Wotton and Gillett and I think that Schneiderlin would work well alongside either of them to provide a bit of cover for him. That's a very strong spine of the team imo, two strong, dominant centre backs, two hard tackling, no-nonsense centre midfielders and two forwards who don't take no mess either.

 

With that team, we might just be able to get the three points this weekend. Thoughts?

Spiderman should play instead of Wotton and put Lallana on the right as he set up the second goal and got close with his header. Lallana shouldn't be dropped next game.
