Blanco Saint Posted 21 February, 2009 Posted 21 February, 2009 what should we believe? New attitude and hope for our team or a really bad day for Preston?
AlfredKo Posted 21 February, 2009 Posted 21 February, 2009 We play a completely different formation, we play completely different football, we score completely different goals, our defence is completely different, we achieve a completely different result. Do you believe those changes are the causes for our three points today? I am sure some of those changes are the reasons for our 2nd home win.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 21 February, 2009 Posted 21 February, 2009 I think it must have been the march that turned the fortunes around. If Wotte gets any praise for this then there is no justice in this world. The only time he has an input is when we lose. Thats the law.

Nah...can't be the march...Wotte said that marching and protesting affected the team's performance....
JohnnyFartPants Posted 21 February, 2009 Posted 21 February, 2009 Nah...can't be the march...Wotte said that marching and protesting affected the team's performance.... Well maybe he was expecting 5-0?

Lowe and Wilde are still here, yes, we did well today but its still too early to judge Wotte imo and for what its worth i want him to do well but imagine next season for a second, whether that be L1 or Championship, there will be no Saga, Euell, Davis and possibly surman and / or AL, what then? Wotte or whoever it is going to be able to work with even less?? The fact is, that as long as RL is here we are shafted.
JustMike Posted 21 February, 2009 Posted 21 February, 2009 even though wotte has changed the starting line up, the positions and the way we play and the subs....other than that, he is exactly the same as portvliet.... true story wotte out mmm yet JP wasnt allowed to use the likes of Saga / Euell etc etc, conspiracy?

That is a whole different debate and does not excuse those on this site calling Wotte a Dutch idiot etc. I agree, next season will be tough unless we get investment but that was never an excuse to call the new manager rubbish after just 4 games in charge.

Windmill Arm 2 Posted 22 February, 2009 Posted 22 February, 2009 what should we believe? New attitude and hope for our team or a really bad day for Preston? I'd like to think this was the turning point in a shyte season for us. But I cant help thinking that this was just a bad day for Preston, a day where we just happened to find the net three times. Some will call me negative, but thats what comes from the continual dissapointment that Lowes regime has inflicted on us all. Can we beat Cardiff next? Heart says yes........Head says no. Hope i'm wrong, its gonna take a hell of a lot more before I get excited. Some people on this site are hilarious.
thorpie the sinner Posted 22 February, 2009 Posted 22 February, 2009 just think, this thread could read 3 wins in 18 next saturday!!!!!!
thefuriousb Posted 22 February, 2009 Posted 22 February, 2009 Wotte changes the starting line up Wotte changes the formation Wotte changes the positions and subs Isn't that what we have been asking him to do all along? I don't know if the formation has changed that significantly. Reading Wotte's comments post match he suggests that Saga, Euell & McGoldrick played as a 3 (which we have played all season in one variant or other). If you believe the views of boarders we have been poor all year and haven't reached the heights on last season's "success", whilst also being too tippy tappy and trying to play our way out of this league. The flexibility of the system we have employed all year has seen us look like we are playing one up on their own, two up top together, and a front 3 - sometimes in the one game. What he does seem to have done is play a round peg in a round hole with Euell playing much further forward. Euell yesterday looked like the player i thought we signed 18 months ago. Again, all his subs yesterday made perfect sense. Wotton for McG to put in an extra body to the midfield to close the game out; BW for Saga as a fresh pair of legs; and Liptak to replace the player furthest away from the bench. Football as they say is a game of opinions. Mine are just less melodramatic than others
Thedelldays Posted 22 February, 2009 Posted 22 February, 2009 so you two are happy with the way things are then are you? Lowe and Wilde are still here, please...where the fark have I said this...?
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 22 February, 2009 Posted 22 February, 2009 please...where the fark have I said this...? LOL!!!!! Barking isn't it!!!!!!!!
WealdSaint Posted 22 February, 2009 Posted 22 February, 2009 Personally if Wotte can turn things around he'll have my support. However, IF he is successful how long will it work while Rupert cold fingers are still involved?
