Credit where it is due - Wotte

do you still think wotte is the same as Jan then...?

We did well today.

But he has had all bloody season coaching and watching and has taken 33 games to work out a winning side.

And he's won one game.

Guus Hiddink he is not. Even a monkey will write a shakespeare play eventually.

Let's see the season out.

If he keeps us up, let him have the job.

But like you said, today credit where it's due.

As I have alluded to during the week Wotte was not as involved in the team as some would wish to think.

I had relayed that the team were together and determined.Thankfully it has transmitted onto the pitch. Now they must carry it on

I think we finally had the rightblend today - youth and experience. His programme notes were convincing and if we can build on today then I think we have a chance - i remember the season when we had n't won a game for ever and finally we beat Newcastle 1-0 with stomper taking a penalty and it turned our season. Today could prove the turning point so lets try to be positive for a change - some on here seam desperate for us to fail.

One of the main problems has been not taking our chances - and DMG has born the brunt of most of the criticism but to be fair it has been a hard ride ploughing the furrow by himself. Lowe and Wilde still want shooting for loaning out John, Rasiak and Saga - but at least the latter is back now and doing the bizz - he could turn out to be the new pahars in the fans eyes. The football we play has generally been quite good but just without a cutting edge but we seam to have rediscovered that today.

We have enough time and games and can drag ourselves out of this mess but we need to be behind the team and manager 100% - how good was the atmoshere in the ground in the second half? THe club isn't dead until the heart stops beating and it certainly was beating in the stadium today so lets believe that we can get out of this mess!

Wotte has shown since he took over that he understands what is required in this league.

If we go down it will be because of what happened with JP,and who knows exactly Wottes hand in that.

I have a feeling that Wotte was playing lip-service to Lowes experiment with JP,knowing that he would be in position to take over if necessary, and that he would be part of the success if things went well.He was in a position where he couldn't lose.

No sign of Alpine then? What a surprise. I bet he would have been typing his fingers down to the bone this morning if we had lost.

Terrific result. Keep it up Mr Wotte. At this rate you might even convince those that think Pearson was the CCC equivalent of Sir Alf Ramsey to have a rethink! But we need much more of the same please.

no sign of stanley....

would be good if he put his opinion out there when we have not lost a game

My comment was about his name appearing PERMANENTLY on the team sheet.

Talk about people skewing comments to fit their own agenda

what agenda ffs...other than saying he may well deserve to start the next game

he is crap...half of the team is crap..but for now, I would be happy to see the same team for the next game..

what in anyway is that an agenda..?

He has one good game all season, and you agree he should start every game!

Even BWP has a good game every now and then!

DMG has spent the season as a 1 up front.Under the new man Saga has been playing as a 2 up front. That is why we are more effective, DMG was very good yesterday and again proved he is better than a lot give him credit for.

Did you go and watch the game?

pr1ck.

LOL

Sorry but cant help but laugh. I know the next bad result we get (could well be against Cardiff) you will be back on here giving anyone that dared to think positivly after winning a game a right roasting.

Well done Wotte for this one. Hope you can keep it going and get the points we need to keep us up.

A very welcome win. Superb, Great, it certainly wasn't. Solid yes, because we packed the centre of the field with a 4-1-2-1-2.

Why did we win, we scored three goals, all of which were brilliant shots. Surman cracked his in from 12 yds, Saganowski from 20 yds, then ran from 10 yds inside his own half to shoot through the keepers legs.

All the goals came from the middle, we put in cross after cross from 30 yds out, all gobbled up by the centre backs or goalkeeper, better from the left, but we had no width and didn't put one cross in from the byeline.

We have hardly got a goal in the six yd box from play this season. Good teams score 80% of their goals inside the six yd box.

Unless we start creating chances in the box we are going to struggle to score, we really can't expect lightning to strike with too many more goals from shots. We have had loads of shots, blocked, scuffed, or off target, yesterday we got three good ones on target for once.

The diamond is solid but vulnerable to teams playing wide. We may become difficult to beat, but we need wins. Euell up front did a real job, Liptak looked a useful player and won all the headers he went for.

I have worked in several management teams when decisions have been made that I have not agreed with and said so. But once the decision has been made you, as part of the team, have to support it. He may find now that he has more freedom to do things his way. Alternatively, he maye have realised that was not the way forward and has decided to be more flexible. Who knows? All that matters is that things are now showing signs of turning round.

Very happy with the win, and I feel slightly vindicated especially after I was roundly criticised for the thread I started Friday. However, this is only one win and we need to build on this next week.

Nice to see TDD start the thread off ;)

cheers

funny how stanley has nothing to add today

The majority of us said that we would give him time to prove himself. I speak for myself when I say that he has impressed me so far with the performances we have put in. However he needs to stop talking about things which don't concern him, especially when he doesn't have a f*cking clue what he's talking about.

He's doing a decent job so far, but he doesn't have my respect.

this is all that counts -would be great to be a character like WGS but how the team does is all that matters for a manager.

I really don't get this.

We've had two threads running for those to register if they want Saints to fail just so we can be rid of Lowe & co, and both threads got a minimal response.

I find it strange how you (and others) think that anyone apart from a couple of nutters get any pleasure out of Saints losing, or conversely get upset when we win.

My thoughts too, but they still eventually rally round and find a nice juicy reason to bring up the evil Chairman or some other muddy negative thread to peddle their own brand of "support".

Can you imagine being in the trenches besides these guys? Not exactly the types to instill some fighting spirt or morale are they? Unless it is in-fighting of course.

Point one - we have, it's true, but most of those who mutter darkly about Lowe out at any cost to the club go very coy when pressed on the subject

& Point two - the two fully paid up nutters in question need a little baiting for their relentless negativity & there are quite a few semi-nutters who also go very quiet (I don't include you in that category btw)

I think everyone wants to win. The only people putting this Club down is Lowe and Wotte.

IF Wotte gets us out of the bottom 3 I may change my mind... but he wont. Chuffed as I am and nice to feel my heart beating loud in excitement yesterday... my head remains fixed on doing Lowe and Wotte down, not my Club.

sorry but i think it was my post was aimed at the nutters and not at those who post geniune concerns when we lose.

Interesting comment Nick, not picked up on that. Certainly the input of men playing professionally (whether they want to be here or not come the summer) has had an impact on team morale.

Why was Wotte not involved as much in the team as people think? I think I know but would be interested to hear your views.
