5 games in 14 days coming up!!! I think its fair to say, these 5 games will dictate our season, esp if we do enter admin before QPR game!! If we can pick up the points against Cardiff tomorrow, I see a good return from the remaining 4 games, maybe 7 points!!! Its in our hands boys!! Remember the teams around us have got some stinkers as well!!

My gut feel is that it will go to the wire. Of course if we win, or lose, the next 5 then our fate will probably be decided, but I reckon we'll pick up 5-9 points and still be very much in the relegation battle and it will come down to the last couple of matches, with that last day's fixtures throwing up some mad games.

Given our current position, I don't think we should be too disappointed even if we're not out of the bottom three after these games, as long as we keep in touch with those above us, because ultimately if we can start upping our points, then I think teams like Plymouth and Barnsley will fall through the trapdoor (fingers crossed anyway).

Our current form is 16th at the moment, which is promising. That's slightly behind Watford, but ahead of Barnsley, Norwich, Charlton & Plymouth (who are rock bottom).

Last Saturday's win has certainly improved our chances and must have sent the willies up the other clubs. Another win tomorrow and then it'll be touch-and-go until the end of the season. The game in hand is probably the most significant because there we have a chance to gain points on all those around us. We live in 'interesting times'.

Our goal difference sucks + we wont win again for weeks now.....lets not get carried away. we are still sh1t!

We aren't literally THAT bad

I may be being pessimistic, but I think it will take a 50 points plus total to ensure survival, with the points our rivals already have in the bag, and given that their slumps will not go on until the end of the season. So from our last thirteen games we will need to win six and draw one to stay up. I think the team can achieve it, even if we don't get anything from tomorrow's game.

Should we pick up all three points from tomorrow, it will just seem that little bit easier to achieve.

I think the team have at least a couple more away wins left in them this season as well.

you are of course Deano my mucker... totally right what a good idea... what a ground breaker you are!!!!!!!!

That's a good thread, but I think this one was created first wasn't it? so we may as well just stick to this one to avoid complicating matters.

Cardiff tomorrow could prove absolutely vital to our season. If Swansea fans are very happy this time tomorrow, I expect we could well be too.

Come on gjphilsaint, this thread is here to unite us. Get behind this thread - you might enjoy it mate! Personally, I think your attitude to this thread is a little bit out of order. Thorpie has come up with an interesting thread that makes good reading and keeps us all involved - we're in this together fella!

Personally, I'd like to thank thorpie the sinner for this thread - it is the first one I look for on the main board these days.

Look forward to seeing the updates later on (haven't got time to do them myself - perhaps someone else could do them? gjphilsaint?)

because all that did was lead me to this post:

which led me back to this post:

...and so on.

Anyway, cracking win today. Hopefully, we've got a bit of momentum now to carry us through the next 4 or 5 games. I honestly believe we can still beat anyone in this league on our day (as the last two games have proved)

Great result again for Saints today.

As it looks like Blackpool are dropping like a stone, I thought it'd be interesting to see who their next few games are against. Pretty interesting that it's all teams around the bottom 8...

Good post, cheers for that Deano. Nice for somebody to lay it out clearly like that.

OMG, Blackpool's next few games are amazing. Not sure if it's good or bad for us, bit of both, really as teams in the mix will be dropping points.

I feel Derby & Donny are out of this now.

Charlton - gone, leaving, any 2 from us, Forest, Watford, Barnsley, Blackpool & Norwich. I'll add Plymouth to that list because although they have the same points as Derby they have played 36.

We have one game in hand on Norwich - great - but Watford and Barnsley (who are both above us) have a game in hand each on us - not so great.

It will be interesting, exciting, nerve wracking.

Strap yourself in fellas - this is gonna be one heck of a ride!

Quite right.

Blackpool is now the key to the relegation mini-league. I think that they have to play 6 other relegation threatened sides in their last 10 games. So either they deny the others points and save themselves or get beaten and go down.

Whatever happens in those matches will be good for us, provided we beat them (or even draw) and keep getting decent results and by that I mean 3 points every 2 games minimum although I'm not foolish enough to believe that we'll get better than that.15 points from our 11 games will probably see us OK.

Caught in the chaos in the market square

I don't know what, I don't know why, but something's wrong down there

Their bodies twistin' and turnin' in a thousand ways

The eyes all rollin' round and round into a distant gaze

Ah, look at that crowd!

Some are jumping up in the air - say "We're drowning in a torrent of blood!"

Others going down on their knees, seen a saviour coming out of the mud

Oh Mother! It's eating out my soul

Destroying law and order, I'm gonna lose control

What can I do to stop this plague, spread by sight alone

Just a glimpse and then a quiver, then they shiver to the bone

Ah, look at them go!

Bunderschaft, you are going daft? Better seal off the castle grounds

"This is Moribund, the Burgermeister, I'm gonna keep this monster down,

Somebody sent the subversive element; going to chase it out of down."

No-one will tell what all this is about

But I will find out.

(I will find out. I will find out.)

This thing's really outrageous, I tell you on the level

It's really so contagious must be the work of the devil

You better go now, pick up the pipers, tell them to play

Seems the music keeps them quiet, there is no other way.

Ah, close the doors!

"We've tried potions and waxen dolls, but none of us could find any cures,"

Mother please, is it just a disease, that has them breaking all my laws,

Check if you can disconnect the effect and I'll go after the cause

No-one will tell what this is all about

But I will find out

I will.

Perhaps gjphilsaint thought that Peter Gabriel was referring to our dilemna in those lyrics.Although I would have thought "Don't give up" is more suited but there you go.

But is "The angel and the dreamer who sometimes plays the fool" equally as appropriate as "In this proud land we grew up strong, I was taught to fight ,taught to win, never thought I could fail". Anyway Kate Bush will always swing the vote for me.

Every game must be treated as a cup final now (it should have been from day 1, but oh well). We're on a fantastic run and must keep the momentum going. I think we still need at least 5 more wins between now and the final day.
