This man is blind and had a letter sent to him calling him 'Mr Blindman' instead of his name. I actually found this quite funny and look forward to my letter from the council calling me 'miss shorty' or something. What would yours be?

For the record mine would be Mr Boombastic.

Mrs Wobblybottom

Please post a picture of your bottom.

I don't understand why the council would send a letter to a blind person. How are they expecting him to read it? It makes no sense at all. It would be like wasting your time talking to a deaf person or going down the gym with a wheelchair bound person. Sometimes I think this country is run by the loony left PC brigade. Some busy body has probaly said to some office underling; "Send a letter to Mr X. He's blind" and office junior has said "What's the point? He won't be able to read it" so office magaer has said "That's just the way the government wants things done now".

I would like to have letters addressed to me as "Mr Third Nipple"

... "Unfortunately, information about Mr Harris' disability was accidentally entered into the name column, which was not noticed prior to the letter being sent." ...

Sounds reasonable at first, but if that was the case then the greeting ought to have been "Dear Mr. blind man", not "Dear Mr. Blindman".

But do you think they will learn from their mistake?

Will they F\/ck!!

"We have visited Mr Harris to apologise and explained the error, and a letter of apology will be sent to him," the spokesman added.

Hmmmm, obviously TMS allows one to be as cold hearted as one wants? What would you say to receiving on addresed to you and starting

"dear uncaring person"

I've edited it to avoid infractions, but you get my drift.

Actually, i'm an extremely caring person thank you. I work with people with disabilities, have done for years and always do everything I can to be caring and do the best job I can. It's an amusing error which this bloke has obviously either totally overreacted to or decided it was a good way to get in the papers - or a bit of both. I get letters addressed to me all the time that have spelt my name wrong (which would also be an admin/human error) and I don't contact the local newspaper.

So, to answer your question, I suppose I wouldn't be overly impressed at receiving such a letter on the basis that it was obviously not an accidental error and also an untrue accusation. However, I wouldn't really care because it must have been written by a person who's opinion i couldn't care less about

That's good that you are a caring person and that nobody, re-read my carefully worded post, has accused you of being uncaring.

I just find it odd that people can find such a letter 'funny'.
