to be fair...there are a few influential fans/people connected with the club that have not done a great deal in recent weeks months with regards to getting lowe out (or trying to)...

fair play to this lad but the fact a 16 year old is running this says alot of good about him and (imo) questions the "proactiveness" of more influential fans that could and maybe should in some eyes (not mine) do more

What do you think they should do and who are they?

dont know... but if a 16 year old can organise all this then what could say, (not having a pop) yourself with your media contacts in the city, or nick over one the uglies or people that run this place, fitzhugh fella, um pahars, jason dodd, MLT, merrington, etc

you get my drift..

Whoever they are don't forget they are not allowed to have acne...that upsets the Loweites....counts me out as I was ravaged by it in my teenage years...long time ago now though.

I thought that personal attack on the lad was despicable and classic case of the cyber bully that goes unchecked on here.

This is so comical.

People cant understand why the protesters are standing behind a 16 year old kid and want someone to step up to the plate. Why dont they do it then?? It doesn't take much, apparently a simple facebook group is all you need...

But to be truthful mate I'm not interested in all that pushing your way to the front malarky, quite happy to write the odd article, watch the game and give Connor any help he might need. Nothing more than that...

Connor has done a grand job and i for one think he deserves total respect for doing it off his own back. I'd buy him a coke down the pub for his hard work. Fair play to the lad for doing what us adults didn't have the balls/conviction to do.

Don't you know Tomboz?? All you need to do is attend games and everything will be just rosey! You didn't think you'd have to go that extra mile did you??? ;)

I hate text as without the tone of the sentence you never get the full message. I think it sarcasm which is totally lost on internet forums when it doesnt have 'tone' with it.

fair play to you and that is what I would be like if I was in southampton...but there are loads that discuss daily how to get rid of lowe and not really do a great deal about it..

one thing though which is important, is that SOMEONE has come up and doing something and im sure he has gained a hugh amount of respect for it...

I dont know but surely someone on here has contacts within the local media, say the echo and south today....if it has not been done so (i would not know) can they jack up interviews etc to push this even further...?

They have. Also I completely agree with the second line in this post. He deserves, but is also getting, lots of respect for his efforts.

Then hopefully the fact that whilst all the so called influential fans do nothing, one young lad shames us by getting up off his arse and doing something.

No ones saying stay away from St Marys or boycott the club but surely somehow people have got to be able to show their complete and utter despair at the how shambolically this club's run...

I would rather see him yell himself horse at the game, that at least would go towards building a more postive atmosphere/vibe.

Like others said, everyone I know personally that was on the march went on into the game as well as others I see most home games in the Itchen. But again this just appears to be another myth about the people that are protesting......these are

1. We / They are all Kids / young people (I wish :) )

2. All of those that protest via this march etc dont goto games.

Perry McMillan was there at the first one and was helping Connor out - also liased with the Police to ensure things went smoothly.

He could have sat back that day and criticised Connor - he didn't and tried to help.

When the Thermos Brigade have passed on to pastures greener we will need supporters like Connor to take on the mantle. Without young fans like him we are fooooked in 10 or so years time.

I've never met Perry but he was a credit to the cause that day.

I contacted Mike Osman before the last one and he promoted the march on his Sunday show on Solent...

I agree Darren totally, but whats come out of this is the one sad fact. People who go public / put their head above the parapet are the ones who seem to get slated again and again. Either by other fans or the club, making stupid PR gaffs

So why would anyone want to go public.

I can only presume for some reason you have managed to post on the end of this thread without reading the copious insults etc in the previous pages:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

On top of that, there is a history of having a pop at anyone who dares raise their head above the parapet. Please don't turn into a Jonah and just go looking for a fight trying to defend the indefensible!!!!!

FFS

1. Being called a kid, with no idea

2. Spotty

3. Naive

4. Bedwetter

ok if not slated, it is ****ing insulting and all because he put himself in the window doing something again!

well..no matter who does what in anything they are opening themselves up for stick...it is the nature of the beast SADLY..

maybe some older, thicker skinned people should be "leading the charge" rather than talk about it all day EVERY DAY on here....?

if being called spotty is being slated then we really have turned into a nation of wet lettuces....

WTF? It is still slating/criticising/speaking in a derogatory manner. Whether the kid himself chooses to get offended is a different matter. Whatever you choose to describe it as the point still stands.

I'm sure people would say, "well he's put himself in the shop window by doing this", but men twice, probably three times his age having a pop on here is a pretty wnak thing to do IMHO.

In particular those who made the nasty, spiteful comments about his appearance should be fcking ashamed of themselves.

b) One of the usual suspects?

It's a freshing change to see someone new....

true...but like i said..sadly by putting yourself "up there" you will be open for some stick..

and lets be honest, being called spotty or a bed wetter on the internet is nothing major...seems like it is being used to as "point scoring" than being insulting...

Yeah, fcking bingo, because whilst I was typing my post, you came up with the classic defence of "he's opening himself up for stick".

I've got you down for being better than this Delldays, please don't go on fighting those windmills, as you're certainly not Jonahesque IMHO.

I concur. In fact at times during the last protest those same snidey little comments were being made when McMillan was in a few photos.

Thing is Duncan, if by marching it guaranteed that we stayed up and meaningful, postive changes were made within the club, Id' so go for it. Hell, I'd even join one and carry a placard.

But all this and other marches do right now is to create further negativity around SFC which is the last the the club needs at the moment.

I have no doubt the lad means well, but frankly I would rather see him yell himself horse at the game, that at least would go towards building a more postive atmosphere/vibe.

Bern, I understand your views on the march - sure it may not be everyone's cup of tea but personal insults towards this lad just ain't right - and I know you agree deep down so let's leave that to one side, and go back to debating the merits (or not) of Mr Lowe :)

Yep, i agree with you. It's a breath of fresh air and just what was needed. I think this is what has rattled Ruperts little helpers the most - there's no mud they can sling at him so they've had to resort to petty digs.

Wottes comments fall into that category and i wouldn't rule out him taking instructions on what to say by the dark lord himself.

Give up Delldays, you have to admit giving any sort of abuse to a kid for organising this is pretty sad.

I didn't go on th first march (couldn't for proffesional reasons) and don't think the second one will achieve anything. But still respect anyone who cares enough and gets off his ass to organise something like this, all for the right reasons. The fact that he is just a kid makes it even more impressive. the trust should be doing this sort of thing but havn't been bothered.

Which brings us back full circle to that ****.

At a time when unity is needed he comes up with diversifying crap like that...

What stuns me is that some people on here see no problem with it. The very sentiment at the heart of it is fine...

"Get behind the team"

The execution is disasterous. Crass, heavy handed and condescending..

Yep, you can imagine Lowe handing it to him directly...

it is sad..i have said that and dont agree with people dishing it out...

BUT sadly it was going to happen and if some are that worried about his feelings then they should take charge etc

Then we should take issue with the people who do it rather than just accepting it and suggesting someone else did it. Age shouldn't come into it, the march went a lot better than expected and I think most people were pleasantly surprised.

who said anything about accepting it..?

that was not my point...my point was IF you are so unhappy (or anyone) about someone calling a 16 year old "spotty" on the internet then they should look at themselves and ask why they are not leading the line and a kid is..?

But that's just classic blame shifting.

People shouldn't have to modify their own behaviour to take account of the pathetic behaviour of others. Instead people should focus on those causing the problems in the first instance.

Address the problem.

You have a boring pattern of attack and run to your posting. While willing to constantly drone on about Lowe in every post you then give a cheap insult when out of your depth when your point is lost. Sometimes you totally change the subject and other times you just use a crass insult. Mate, you are a one trick pony with no substance or guile. I once made a comment that you would blame rotten apples in ASDA on Lowe and you didnt like the exaggerated comparison but to be honest it was not far wrong. You still havent managed to grasp the basic concept that if someone realises that no change will happen through protesting then they still might not be a Lowe supporter, more an educated realist.

Well and truly in the mold of his master isn't he. W@NKER! Or maybe he's better in Dutch; KLOOTZAK!

As a club, we would be better off having 5 fans going to games, cheering on the boys and supporting the team than 10,000 internet tossers like you and alwhine - *****ing, moaning, delighting in our problems and all backslapping yourselves when something us goes against us.

Were you bullied at school? And now you're taking it on on people in cyberspace? Get down to St Marys and support the team, stop posting your pathetic bile filled drivel on the internet.
