SaintRobbie Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 He really is a dislikeable chap..... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4140876.Wotte_calls_on_support_of__true__Saints_fans/ Yes.... so now Wotte/Lowe are actually now dividing the fans into those who support and those who dont. Just brilliant isn't it? We have the most united fan base in years who see the problem - Lowe and Wotte - and they now attempt to divide them into fans who come and those who dont without examining why they dont. I think this is pretty much a final nail in the coffin for Wotte if I'm being honest. Declaring war is one thing but attempting to divide your population and support based is not a great start for any campaign footing. Just a joke now. Message to all Saints fans has to be - go and support during games until they're lost, but then protest at and inside every game to show this bloody fool we mean business. Its not a silent majority Wotte... its a VAST MAJORITY who want your head and Lowe's.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Wotte called Saints fans ‘unloyal c*nts’ If this edited quote were at the top of the page this thread would then be in perspective. Those criticising Wotte for saying 'some young kids' refer to the organiser as 'lad' etc...is there a difference as he is not talking in his native tounge.
solentstars Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Christ this forum is the most negative and depressing thing I have read in a long time. Whilst I have no problems with a protest march against Lowe/Wilde some fans on here need to remind themselves that the most important thing about tomorrow is finishing the day with 3 points. You’d have thought Wotte called Saints fans ‘unloyal c*nts’ after reading the over the top responses!yep these threads are gettingsilly, they are so fragile they will need counciling, has far has what wotte said it is the same sort of language has pearson used, he is playing 4-4-2 and useing the older players and still we complain.
Mr Blobby87 Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 You sometimes think your on a animal rights forum haha!
Torres Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 I think this is pretty much a final nail in the coffin for Wotte if I'm being honest. lol.
SaintRobbie Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 I think he may have been alluding to the fact that the last march was organised by a 16 year old.I do wonder that the club knows the disenchanted are lost and os they are not looking to appease them. The chairman whose job the marchers wish to get rid of will not worry that his manager annoys them. It is a battle of the wills, and RL is strong willed it seems. NOBODY is going to win, the anti's will effect the atmosphere to many fans weekend relaxatio, RL will carry on upsetting a percentage of fans and so it is another spiral downwards. I dont think that's true and again Nick you seem to roll over and except our fate under Lowe too easily. It will not be a draw. The fans untimately WILL drive Lowe out (again) and Wotte will go. I think that comments like Wotte's in the Echo merely rouse the fan base even more. I suspect people who were not going to march tomorrow will now. I expected a smaller turnout tomorrow, but I think we'll see afew more as a result of his attempts to split the fans into fans and not fans. Would be an interesting poll wouldnt it? As a result of Wotte's comments about the fans will you: a. Attend the protest (I was anyway) b. Now attend the protest (I was undecided/feeling a bit lazy/prefering another pint before the game instead ) c. Will conform and go and support the team, indeed hail abuse at the protestors instead.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 It really comes to something when you read forum posts in the local rag. I take it Wotte either did not see or refuses to acknowledge that probably the most poignant part of the protest last time, and the piece covered widely, was the elderly lady giving up her ST. I have not criticised Wotte up to this point, and worst, I have suggested that he comes across badly at times. I was even going to comment on the thread about him going to War and point out that at the end of the article, he'd admitted they'd made mistakes and was trying to put them right, even in his a*se about way, for me, acknowledgment of failure, is the first step to recovery. But then this! Balance tipped, respect lost. Uber fans and kids, man, isn;t that just rattling the cage of the upcoming protest. This guy either just doesn;t understand the situation OR and IMO is deliberately insighting the fans! And I say this because of the Wilde threat incidents, the way Lowe treats people and our current predicament. Has ANYBODY got any links where such a long list of attacks has been placed against the fans??? I'm sorry but this is close to deliberately in sighting riotous behaviour. This maybe a bit extreme, but you keep adding up these comments and eventually he is going to flick the right switch, push the right (self destruct) button and boom! We have ourselves all out fighting and ABH! I'm in no way condoning this reaction, nor calling for it. I suggest, that people are encouraged to call this man to task through the proper channels and that is to write to the club and the local MP. This guy has been here 5 mins whilst some of the fans he is patronising have been supporters of this club for 30 years and then some! If he doesn't know this, he is the dumbest, thickest must stupid man ever to have managed in the public arena. If he does know this, then it is deliberate incitement and he should be brought to task NOW! If you think this is over the top from me, think about Wilde and the threats made against him. Real or not, there are obviously people out there that want to do harm to this club. Let's make sure those people are contained within the club and stop the scum from leaking out. The jury on Wotte is now out for me, he has lost my support. P.S. out of interest, I suggest we start looking at his public comments in his previous roles, this could give us some important insights of his previous failures! COYR John Smith, totally understand your concerns and being upset but writing to the club? Just who from the club is going to listen to you, or any others, mate? Staying away, en masse, is now the only way I can see the message being put across. Let the two marches take place. The one to the ground to show how many are dissatisfied and then, when it arrives, those who wish to, join Stuey's march AWAY from the ground. Every home game this should happen. Then, in the summer, when the board needs ST money really badly, for nobody to renew. If those arrogant, egotistical megalomaniacs want a fight then let's bloody well give them one! It's all or nothing now and with the way they are doing things it's soon going to be nothing. If that is so then let's make it nothing, but on our terms. MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION
Toadhall Saint Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Just got the echo and tbh I'm a little stunned with his comments - ah well you reap what you sow.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Yes it will Johnny. Just the thought of it will make them train harder this week and play better tomorrow. Well obviously, I wasn't implying that the protesters were not taking part in a masterstroke of football coaching genius.
georgeg Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 What a fecking ****! he's been at the club 2 mins and knows us so well does he. Well i was on the protest march last time & i'll be on it again this time, i'm a season ticket holder from the dell and all the time we've been at St Mary's and i'm 50 years old, hardly a kid. We really do need to get rid of lowe & his brigade! I urge everyone young & Old to take part in the protest tomorrow. Let these people know they are not wanted, make them feel very uncomfortable. GET OUT OF OUR CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COYS agree 100% mesaint - I have also reached 50 and if Wotte wants to reach me at 1345 tommorow - he will find me with hundreds of other "kids" ready to march again I suggest you concentrate on the football - that is what you're paid for is'nt it?
Torres Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Well obviously, I wasn't implying that the protesters were not taking part in a masterstroke of football coaching genius. Why else do you think Man Utd are top of the league? It's clearly because they have the biggest attendance, most of whom march in protest to Old Trafford every other week.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Thanks for the praise! You've read my comments, seen what you wanted to and replied to that. No, at no stage on this thread have i questioned Wotte's managerial record. I've questioned the teams record, but not Wotte. I have questioned his need to say what he said. All i hope is that we win tomorrow. And all i know is things aren't right at the club at the moment and that there is a good few people who care about this club trying to influence the change. Let's hope they do and when change comes it's positive. I hope we win tomorrow too, although I don't believe any of the credit will be mine.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 If this edited quote were at the top of the page this thread would then be in perspective. Those criticising Wotte for saying 'some young kids' refer to the organiser as 'lad' etc...is there a difference as he is not talking in his native tounge. The question is, are you?
jonah Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 I'm not sure what's worse, the thought that a march is being organised by a 16 year-old living at home with his parents, barely past the age of legal responsibility, too young to even drive a car and with bugger all experience of life beyond going to school, let alone the first clue of what's involved in running a multi-million pound company.... or those people who are standing behind him and looking up to him in awe. And God only knows how he's finding the time to do his homework too.
Teddy Nutkins Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 One can only assume you do your job 24 hours a day? Or do you do your job for perhaps 8 hours then just think about it non stop until you go back to work again? When you finish work do you have any opinions based on work which are not directly to do with your job? Maybe you do, maybe you don't. Even if you don't, but were asked an opinion on say, how much salt you should be putting on the fries, would you give one? You may be 52 but to be honest you do seem quite a lot younger, in a not flattering way. You are very amusing. I'll tell you what let's make a deal, i won't go on the march, then we could meet up and enjoy a nice drink together, then i could take you for lunch at my place of work, then you could ask me how much salt i think you should be having on your fries. What do you think?

londonsaint1604 Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Not very sensible to make those kind of comments but he does have a point.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 The question is, are you? No, u ? (pedantic motherfather)
JohnnyFartPants Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 One can only assume you do your job 24 hours a day? I asked if that is how you go about your job but instead you seem to want to wine and dine me. Now, I am a forward thinking and quite open, modern man but I think I should point out now that this type of grooming you are trying to involve me in is not to my liking or sexuality.
once_bitterne Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Fan power, in the form of the Saints Trust, et al, bought us the Wilde revolution, arguably the most financially damaging period in the club's history. Now, instead of the Trust, we have a spotty faced 16 year old student, behind whom the "fans" have lined up. We must have the largest number of brainless sheep in our fanbase than any other club in the country. I searched the Charlton fansites for any sign that in East London they have anything approaching our sad moaning, excuses for supporters, but all I found was this. I like the early replies to the blog, which sum it up for me. "Medium sized club, did well, stupid fans living in cloud cuckoo land always demand more. Same story that always happens, it just took longer to play out at Charlton. There are over 50 clubs in the league who's fans think they should be in the premier league within 5 years" "We were not guilty of over-ambition or unrealistic expectations. Curbishley did a magnificent job for the club, but his time had come and as Southampton and others before us found, if you have a limited ground capacity and resources you only need one bad season in the Premiership and you're in trouble. Stability is great, but it was soon clear that Dowie was the wrong choice (the potential candidates for the job were not exactly impressive). Pardew came close to keeping Charlton in the Premiership but failed to shape a team for a bounce back, despite good backing from the board. That paved the way for inevitable cutbacks/player sales for this season and continued turmoil. Yes, this is a tough time for the club. But administration is not likely, we own our own ground, have a very strong bond between the fans and the board (it is wrong to suggest that the fans' director was axed because of his actions, it was a sensible move to replace a fans' director with a consultative fans forum), and continue to stand out for community relations. We may struggle for some years, whether or not we stay up this season, but we won't lose our sense of identity and when we come back it will be with a retained sense of the real meaning of success and failure." Saints have a crap board and crap fans, IMHO... Absolutely spot on John. To all those mental giants who believe Lowe is the sole reason we are where we are now just look at Charlton who are miroring our every move (and may even go one 'better' and get relegated while still receving parachute payments) and yet their fans don't seem to be vilifing their chairman. We were just like them, a medium sized club who were over acheiving with a good manager. But just like them things started to go a bit stale towards the end of WGS's time here as he no doubt lost a bit of drive as he could see that, without a billionaire coming in and taking the club over, top 10 finishes was the best he could hope for. "stupid fans living in cloud cuckoo land always demand more." Sadly this sums up a large number of our fanbase. I'm sure many of those passionatlely prostesting on Saturday were those who were wanting 'Lowe Out' even when we were finishing mid table in the Prem and getting to the Cup Final... Even now the same cloud cuckoo thinking regularly comes out on here, "Why didn't Lowe 'Push on to the next level'" without pausing to think for a second how we would have found the £30m+ needed to do this. And there is the same moronic uttering of 'we should have signed Malbranque and Saha' failing to realise that there wasn't a hope in hell of either ever coming to us even IF we had the money to pay their ages (which we didn't) So to those marching on Saturday, well done lads it'll be League 1 Football next season. You've finally got the club you deserve.
Frank's cousin Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Is this what witte was referring to then.... "The only thing I am looking for is the day that Lowe and Wildes names are not associated with this club. Up and till that day I will rely on my memories of when this club was truly Southampton FC, when it was a united and proud club, when on its day it could beat the best, when I could look up at the directors box and respect the people in it. Until then, this club does not deserve our time, money or support. If it means that the only way this will happen is by relegation and admin then so be it. " Quote from a thread below from Saint BILLY So Wotte does have a point of sorts.
SaintRobbie Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 So to those marching on Saturday, well done lads it'll be League 1 Football next season. You've finally got the club you deserve. Utter rubbish They are fans expressing their displeasure at the current 'leadership'. Utter rubbish.
Daren W Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 And whilst we're on the subject, what does Connor's age have to do with anything? Do people expect fans to take all of this crap and not say something? At least some people are trying to express their discontent and still go and support their team. Guided Missile uses the phrase sheep quite liberally when describing our fans. Sheep would stand around doing nothing as their club goes down the pan. Connor, spotty face youngster that he is, is at least trying to do something whilst still supporting his team. I think the sheep are the trolls on here who think turning up week in week out will wash away our problems and we'll be just fine and dandy. Buy your ticket, sit on your hands, that's all a fans does. Actually, that's not a sheep... That's a lemming. Sheep or Lemmings? I think I'll stick with the mutton side of the fence..
londonsaint1604 Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Some truth in it, but he's still a ****. He may be a **** but he has lovely hair.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 turning up week in week out will wash away our problems. It would go some way to assist with our financial position
alpine_saint Posted 20 February, 2009 Author Posted 20 February, 2009 It would go some way to assist with our financial position Or keep the problems going.......
Daren W Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Yes it will Johnny. Just the thought of it will make them train harder this week and play better tomorrow. Whereas turning up, singing songs and paying money will save the day... You couldn't make this crap up.... seriously.... Comedy gold...
alpine_saint Posted 20 February, 2009 Author Posted 20 February, 2009 Whereas turning up, singing songs and paying money will save the day... You couldn't make this crap up.... seriously.... Comedy gold... Indeed. Torres's way worked 15 times this season, didnt it ???
corky morris Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 I'm not sure what's worse, the thought that a march is being organised by a 16 year-old living at home with his parents, barely past the age of legal responsibility, too young to even drive a car and with bugger all experience of life beyond going to school, let alone the first clue of what's involved in running a multi-million pound company.... or those people who are standing behind him and looking up to him in awe. And God only knows how he's finding the time to do his homework too. At least the lad has a passion which is more than can be said for Wotte & lowe. Why dont you keep on defending Lowe the business genuis as our share price hits 14p & value drops below £4m? OHH sorry you are.
Torres Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Whereas turning up, singing songs and paying money will save the day... You couldn't make this crap up.... seriously.... Comedy gold... 2 things Daren. Are you trying to convince us that this march on Saturday will go some way to helping us get 3 points? And are you know going to argue that more income via gate receipts would not give us more money to spend on players and probably a better team? If so, that would be the kind of comedy gold that couldn't be made up. Except that you just would have done, obviously.
Torres Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Indeed. Torres's way worked 15 times this season, didnt it ??? Remind me how we got on in game following the previous march?
Guided Missile Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Indeed. Torres's way worked 15 times this season, didnt it ??? 15 times? I doubt you turned up once, to see if it worked....
alpine_saint Posted 20 February, 2009 Author Posted 20 February, 2009 15 times? I doubt you turned up once, to see if it worked.... Yep, results are irrelevant in Johnnyworld.......
Guided Missile Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Yep, results are irrelevant in Johnnyworld....... True, although I'd prefer to call it God's country...
Nick65 Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Can't believe some of the bile on here, particularly the stuff directed at the lad who organised the march last time. So what if he's only 16 - does that make anything he does invalid or something ? For what it's worth, I'll be there on tomorrow to support the team as I reckon protests are too late for this season and we're stuck with what we've got. But to imply that people who protest and/or march are not 'true fans' is just plain wrong and Wotte should know that. And even if he doesn't know it, he shouldn't have come out with such crass comments.
bowers-sfc Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 he really knows how to wins the fans over . i would love for something to be put together by the daily echo. some of the marchers, mark wotte, ruper lowe and wilde all to answer our questions and to show them that the marchers are not all kids! i see some are saying about what i look like. what does that have to do with anything? his coments have not gone too well with alot of fans and he has split the fans more then they already were. infact... he has probaly just added a few more to the march. if your going to be there, then brilliant, its going to be a good day and finish it of with 3 points. if not then maybe you will join us at the stadium outside the itchen stand? look forward to seeing you all there and lets make change at SFC
Stoozer Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Dont agree with doing this publically' date=' but there are some truths in what he says - and I am not sure it warrants the kind of reaction from some... Hes tha manager of theclub and he sees fans protesteing when he wants them supporting. Sure we are playing crap under him and these are hollow words if we dont get points, but its hardly 'nasty' or insulting... seriously, I am not sure why anyone should be offended by it to be honest...[/quote'] I was on the first march and if I'm correct, we protested (against the board)before the match and supported the team during the match. Support and protest are not mutually exclusive and who's to say what a "true" fan is these days. He shouldn't be having digs at the fanbase or implying that only true fans support without protesting.
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Wotte needs to sort his hair out. No one can take him seriously with that hair style.
SaintRobbie Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 I was on the first march and if I'm correct, we protested (against the board)before the match and supported the team during the match. He hasnt said that apparently - ask Torres.
saint1977 Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 I agree with all you said except the suggestion his words were poorly chosen. He is speaking like someone from a country where political correctness is still not quite King. So what if his words offend those who is talking about. Sure, he could have dressed it up but he used the right words to describe the actions. God forbid a young brian Clough came up in this era as he would have had his skills strangled out of him by dinlo fans. Big difference though JFP - Clough won League Titles and 2 European Cups. Clough could get away with saying whatever he liked as he'd proven he could walk the walk and not at the big clubs either. Wotte has taken a club into administration and relegated another with us to add to his collection. Not quite the same impact really.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Whereas turning up, singing songs and paying money will save the day... You couldn't make this crap up.... seriously.... Comedy gold... You just can't apply common sense can you? Put it this way, singing and supporting haven't worked because the team is full of under acheiving players. How will protesting change that? Are you really struggling with understanding this? If you have a sore arm I won't make it better by kicking you in the nuts will I?
Teddy Nutkins Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 What I think is you totally evaded the answers I gave you to your statement on what Wotte should be doing regarding his job. I don't believe i have evaded any of your answers.Wotte should be thinking about the football, let Wilde and Lowe worry about the protests.I have no-problem discussing my job with you if you really want me to, hence inviting you to discuss over a drink.I really do feel sorry for you if you believe i am "grooming" you. It is quite evident that you have a high opinion of yourself, and think it is funny to be-little people from behind a screen, come out in the open, breath some fresh air.I also would not stoop so low as to question someones sexuality, in front of many people on an internet forum, that really is sick.Again i repeat discuss it with old man, you choose.
davec Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 The whole club is a joke! Wotte has been here 2 minutes and has the audacity to have a go at fans who have been supporting the Saints for years! I have had a season ticket since 1978 but will not be renewing whilst Lowe has anything to do with the club. Good luck to the 16 year old organising the protest march - poor lad has only known Saints under Lowe!! Wotte - please **** off back to Holland and take Lowe with you!

You don't inherit conviction and an attitude to speak out AFTER winning things, it's what defines a winner, and before you say Wotte isn't a winner, I didn't imply that that is all it takes to be one.

Well now that you have satisfied me that you are not after my anus for pleasurable reasons, I can at least relax. Sadly I live up north and my weekend is planned out already, but to recap, you haven't answered at all. At the third request, do you instill the same tunnel vision towards your job, 24/7 that you insist Wotte should to his? Do you allow yourself time off of your job to have opinions on other things, be they job related or otherwise? It really is as simple as that. If you can say that you are 24/7 the worker for your job then I will back you to the hilt (while thinking you are a bit of a bullsh1tter).

Sorry, that's just gash. Boothroyd spoke well at Watford but then delivered a stunning promotion after keeping Watford. If Wotte is going to give it large, he needs to back up with some wins. Given that he was working with JP, they've won one home league game all season. One home win in case that didn't register with you. By the way, if you are going to take the rude approach with other posters, please at least post something semi-intelligent.

Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 What an absolute ****. Great way to get the fans onside Mark
once_bitterne Posted 20 February, 2009 Posted 20 February, 2009 Utter rubbish They are fans expressing their displeasure at the current 'leadership'. Utter rubbish. Look at Charlton Robbie, they are falling just like us. However their situation can be 100% 'blamed' on their chairman and board and yet guess what? Their fans aren't marching and moaning and protesting, they are supporting the team. Their fans had no input in the appointing of Dowie or his sacking or who his successor was. Contrast this with us. There is not a shadow of doubt in my mind that we would have not been relegated if we had appointed Hoddle when WGS left. He may be no Mourinho but I see nothing on his cv to say that him managing the team for the complete season would have been worse than having two incompetent and one disinterested manager in a single season. And even then we had good enough players to mean we were outside of the relegation zone before the final game of the season kicked off! But no, the fact that he had left to manage the team he was a MLT like legend to, for many 'fans' meant we could not take him back so the genius ABH Campaign got us Sturrock and then Wigely and then Harry and then relegation. Good work boys. The lot down the road have the reputation of being far more 'hard core' than us but they swallowed their pride and took Redknapp back and look where that got them, a bloody FA Cup win! And why exactly are we on the verges of admin now? Because the widespread Anti-Lowe feeling amongst some 'fans' after relegation (how moronic does moaning about 'only' spending 90k on Fuller look now that we are bankrupt??) opened the door for the worst thing to ever happen to this club. Chancer Mike Wilde. A very average business man who jumped on the opportunity the fans created to ive him the opportunity of living out his childhood fantasy of 'playing football chairman'. 'Mike' is the reason we stand on the doors of administration. We may have not reached the playoffs if Lowe hadn't been ousted but we sure as hell wouldn't be staring down the barrel of both L1 and administration now!!! So like I said some of our fans are fast getting the club they deserve.
