I dont understand why the British police couldn't have thought up a dodgy new charge they wanted to "investigate" him on and have him deported from Hong Kong when he was there.

He could feasibly live out the remainder of his life flying from airport to airport, being fed on airline food. Blimey, he could even get into the Guiness Book Of Records.

Who will let him in..? Some South American country..? Of course, he'd have to be able to find a carrier who would be prepared to get him that far.

I'm sure the airlines will be prepared to fly him anywhere he wants to go, after all he's got lots of money and can afford first class.

Quite a few airports have hotels airside nowadays don't they? If I was him I'd check into one of them, at least for a couple of weeks until the journalists get bored. Potentially he could stay in one of them for the rest of his life, like in that Tom Hanks film.

£50,000 per annum. For a single bloke with no ties or responsibilities, that's fairly comfy living.

In todays ECHO it says Glitter has relatives in Pompey and he used to keep a boat at Gosport.http://www.thisishampshire.net/news/hampshirenews/display.var.2434646.0.glitter_flees_secret_village_hideaway.phpused .What a surprise!

He's a low-life, but he's not daft.

Where else in England would he live?

Portsmouth is about the only place where paedophilia is acceptable

Aparently he was in Parkgate trying to buy a car form Peter Nash's on Wednesday!

Ok, getting past the moral response that everyone has on these things, yer he is a bastard but he's a bastard who has served his time and just needs to be left alone. He's never going to be able to get any peace ever again and the way the sun and that are treating him is way over the top. Seriously, he doesn't deserve any attention, just leave him alone.

I also find it quite funny how people are all quick to condemn him, but most don't actually have a clue of what he was charged with.

But, I'm not defending him here. Sex offenders are pretty much the lowest of the low.

There are enough samples of his work on contemporary music to keep him in a few quid each year. For example, off the top of my head, "Hello Hello" features on an Oasis track somewhere.

If you're not condemning you're defending IMO.

Nope, I hate everything he did, just saying I don't think a wild goose chase trying to find him wherever he is for the next 20 years until he pops his clogs is a good idea. Once you've served your time, you've served your time. He should be a free man now, albiet obviously with restrictions due to the sex offenders list.

You could argue he hasn't really served his time, how long was he inside?? not long enough for the harm he has caused.

Slightly ironic a 15 year old boy is defending Glitter

Took a peek at where he was/is supposed to be staying in Hill Head, sure enough, plenty of photographers loitering outside a property, named"Garth".

On the roundabout outside the Peter Nash showroom,in Warsash, someone has tied a banner saying"watch out, watch out,Gary Glitters about"

Gary Glitter overtakes Davina McCall's parents as Gosports main celebs.

I am extremely well known in these parts,i'll have you know, and all for the right things.

I saw how this could be perceived as ironic but I'm not defending Gary Glitter, I'm defending our rights as citizens of the U.K. Whatever crime you have committed, the idea is that after you've served your time, you are a free man and this media circus around him just doesn't seem right. Besides, he doesn't deserve the attention.

Is that why he has to sign the 'official' sex offenders register?

Erm, I said that very early on in this thread. Time served and all that.

Give it a week and he will be on 'This morning' who would have paid for the interview, the fascination with the public would then die out as another story breaks such as 'Kate McCann caught giving Mr McCann a blow job in a lay-by' (or some other uninteresting scandal which we all like to read) and then the nonce 'Glitter' will be forgotten and proceed to live a comfortable existence and maybe even sign an autograph or two.

Funny world really, think of the guy from 'The Who,' guilty as sin however completely forgiven!

Gary Glitter is no different to the hundreds of thousands of sex cases that visit the far east every year all except he is famous and sells newspapers.

He is a vile man like the rest of them, and the c::nt used to live 2 miles down the road from me.

He's moved back to Hants and is living with a friend. I hope he gets beaten to a pulp by vigilantes.

Well, I already mentioned that in my first post...

I just don't think he should be followed round continuously. Leave the bastard alone.

People on the sex offender's register need to declare their whereabouts at all times....

The good people from the press were just making sure his location was known [one day you may have kids of your own, and I guarantee you will change your mind on the treatment of convicted paedophiles].

Well if he moves near your house you could invite him over to meet your family.I am sure now that he has served his time he would not give the local kids a second glance.

I guess so, what I'm trying to get at is the media circus surrounding it. The way they follow him constantly. I mean if you've read any of the articles anywhere in the press, you can see they are pretty ridiculous.

Blimey, Mole keeps well up to date with issues and puts forward a view that is rather predictable for him also  One assumes he that doesn't get paid for information as a mole as he would be stony broke by now!

Yeah, people who don't have kids don't have a clue do they? Morons! I bet some of them even vote.

The fact you have kids has absolutely no effect on the validity of your argument.

Until very recently (last year, I believe) "Rock 'n' Roll - Part 2" was a staple at all NFL stadiums in America, said tune being played every time a touchdown was scored. That gig was apparently worth £100,000 a year to nonce boy, but the NFL have finally banned it now.

Precisely! How DID Pete Townsend get off scott free? He downloaded kiddie porn, did he not? Like Glitter and that Langham character? But nobody seems to give a monkey's chuff about that.

Is this a cryptic reference to Kevin Keegan ???

Its still played in NHL arenas, not sure if theyve stopped it for the coming season.

Gary Glitter has said "I want to hide away in Hampshire, with no media coverage, no real work to do and no one watching me constantly".

Southampton have signed him on a two year deal. :D
