So we're trusting these morons to find other subs, but can't even spot walking into one, jesus....

two things..

dont always believe what is reported in the press...that I will advise you.

also, these types of subs move at very slow speeds when on patrol and are pretty much impossible to find when on patrol...that is the whole point..

usually with the subs I am on we go by given areas to be in at certain times and that is deconflicted with other NATO units so this does not happen...the nature of the SSBN nuclear missile sibs mean only a very few people in the UK will know where they are at any one time when on patrol..

like I said, dont always believe what you read in the papers on stuff like this

"deconflicted"?

What kind of bastard word is that? Military-speak, no doubt?

I hear not, but then you probably won't believe it will you.

What's that s'posed to mean? sarcy barsteward!

Still, if Gordon Brown can't even give the submariners a frickin TomTom GPS then these things are bound to happen. It is a small ocean after all.

Brown Out.

Serious question TDD. How the hell does a story like this 'get out'?

It surely is on no one's interest to leak it, and I personally would rather not know that this sort if thing goes on. Surely, for whatever reason, no one need ever know. Seriously, who would leak this and to what end?

Cod knows. Or some Jorno fishing for a story.

Call the AA - Aqua Accidents

Seriously though, this is ****ing embarrassing for Her Most Gracious Majesty's Royal Navy. Just how the **** does one hit another sardine can in the middle of the Atlantic?

I reckon the bloody Frogs were trying to invade us. Some relative of Bonaparte got on board a Froggy tub and had a crack. But our boys were more the match!

one thing it does show (if anything) the subs are very good at not being found through normal methods...ffs
