bjk Posted 16 February, 2009 Posted 16 February, 2009 Preston and Cardiff at home anything less than 6 points and thats it for sure,we are down.So basically Thats it then we're down.
alpine_saint Posted 16 February, 2009 Posted 16 February, 2009 Preston and Cardiff at home anything less than 6 points and thats it for sure,we are down.So basically Thats it then we're down. I would expect 0 points from those two fixtures. I reckon the reaction during and after the Preston game is going to be ugly....
slickmick Posted 16 February, 2009 Posted 16 February, 2009 Win them both and everything will look very differently. 4 of our next 6 games are at home. One big problem though, we have to win our home games. Preston game will be the defining moment for me.
saints_is_the_south Posted 16 February, 2009 Posted 16 February, 2009 If somehow we can get atleast 4 points from these 2 games we still have a chance. The biggest period is going to be the end of April when we have 3 home games out of 4 which includes Derby & Charlton at home & Blackpool away. I was resigned to relegation after the Sheffield United game & just can't see any way out of this other than to start winning at home, and even then its still going to be tricky.,
Bailey Posted 16 February, 2009 Posted 16 February, 2009 6 points and we give ourselves a fighting chance. Anything less and that really is lights out for us.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 February, 2009 Posted 16 February, 2009 Guys - take a little look over your shoulder towards the last 10 games. Then tell me how you do not realise that... (a) we're not down already and (b) what possibly gives you any form of hope that we will actually win a game again this season? The writing was on the wall when Rupert appointed the deadly Dutch duo. It was etched into the wall the day Rupert appointed Wotte to take over from JP. We may not have wanted to recognise it at the time, but we were relegated from kick-off in the 1st game of the season. Thanks Rupert.
St Marco Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 After playing the next 2 games it will mean that 4 of our last 5 games were at home. If we fail to get 4 points at bare minimum from the 6 available we will have to say that is that. While miracles can happen the remaining 12 games will see us play just 5 at home. Which even if we won all of them will probably not be enough to save us. The boys have to win these games, especially the Preston game, if we lose it will get ugly for them i think.
AlfredKo Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 If we play like what we did against Swansea, we should have a chance.
davetheturtle Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 As much as it depresses me to say it we are so down, i had hope last season, we were scoring goals so stood a chance. This season with mcgoaldrought being our main striker we stand no chance and i'm resigned to league 1. Can't believe we were in the FA cup final in the not too distant past. How t*ts up its gone since then. I'm 19 so have been a fan all through the 90's and miss the days of only just surviving the premiership! We have no Le Tissier to save us were so screwed.
saintjay77 Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 The only way we will stand a chance will be if one of our players finds some shooting form. There all getting good at hitting the posts and shooting wide but we need at least 1 of them (last season it was John and the season before it was Saga) to go on a run. Even the reserves had the same problem last night and that was with 9 1st teamers against the reserves of the bottom of the barrel. It worrys me that the longer it goes on the more pressure there is on the strikers and the more pressure then the less they will perform.
skintsaint Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 Stranger things have happened....we might go on an unbeaten run till the end of the season.... *wakes up from dream*
broncoboy Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 Its not over till its over But its nearly over
del boy Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 Well they are all MUST WIN games now arent they? .. its just that the font size for "must win" will gradually increase, if we don't win, until we are mathematically down
Cricketphilly Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 Wake up and smell the coffee, we are down.
keithd Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 im going to the cardiff game, my first for 18 months. i expect us to win. is it awesome down there still? full house? place rocking? preston will beat us, we'll beat cardiff, but alas that will be too little too late.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 im going to go to our last game in the championship away at Forest
West End Saint Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 It is time to stop the torture and accept that we have had it we are going down please feel free to take the p1ss out of me if we survive I would be to happy to care. Once you have accepted the inevitable you can start preparing for life in league 1 if it means we get our club back and Lowe and his cronies f u c k off we can start to rebuild In a perverse kind of way I am looking forward to it the chance of winning some home games going to away grounds where you can stand on the terraces. One day the future will be bright in red & white lets hope it is soon.

No you won't, out of the 24 clubs in leage 1 only 4 have terraces for away fans: Bristol Rovers, Hereford, Peterboro' and Yeovil.

What about the 4 coming up from Div 4 to join us in the promised land? Sorry lost the plot there as England have just got 2 in 2 balls.

RedSquirrel Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 Preston and Cardiff at home anything less than 6 points and thats it for sure,we are down.So basically Thats it then we're down. I am more realistic and have predicted two defeats sadly. 6 points in the next two games - I cannot see us getting 6 points in the rest of the season
L1Minus10 Posted 17 February, 2009 Posted 17 February, 2009 in my routemap to 50 points (which I did when bored at work)... we have to win both these games.... mind you we had to get a point on Saturday... Face it, we're ****ed...

fish fingers Posted 18 February, 2009 Posted 18 February, 2009 I would expect 0 points from those two fixtures. I reckon the reaction during and after the Preston game is going to be ugly.... I would expect you not to be there but have plenty to say about both games.
