lordswoodsaints Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 interesting piece in the NOTW about the prem clubs up for sale. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/176882/SEE-WHOS-UP-FOR-GRABS.html the one that surprised me was wigan at £40mil,it doesnt say if that includes any debts but £40mil seems a bit of a snip to me. why would anybody want to buy our circus when they could get a prem club for £40 mil?
Leslie Charteris Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 There is only one reason the club has not been bought and that's the people who control the majoritory of the shares will not sell.

Correct. Why is that I wonder? And before people say no one wants to buy SFC we have had an offer - SISU. Also, we have had Mary Corbett - a fan and someone who still commands respect - tell us that investors are out there but refusing to come in whilst Lowe is associated with the Club. What's more, you get Saints for a much much cheaper deal than a Premiership Club.
aintforever Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 Saints is in the situation where if it was owned outright by someone it would be sold for £1 to someone willing to take on the debts. As it stands if someone were interested they would just be ripped of by greedy shareholders looking for a return.
