chi saint Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 Yes, I support the team, not the board, similarly in order to deprive the board of my money I will not deprive the team of my support. With ONE exception, if there is a vast swell of support to boycott a game then I will support that as it's the only way we the fans will be able to exert actual influence. Viking Warrior Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 I will still go to matches. Saints is for life irrespective whose in the boardroom in my humble opinion
Mr Saints Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 I have no time for the board, management and MOST of the players. Unless we get a new board, manager and some players that actually give a **** then no, I will not be atteding next season.
MrMojoRisin Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 I will still watch the saints regardless. I love football and cant live wothout it. Thats the beauty of sky sports and setanta. My life revolves around football aswell, but until them snakes finally depart this club I will never attend another match and to be honest it is ******* killing me, but so is what these snakes are doing to our club. When they leave i will again attend H&A religously as I have done so in the not so far past. If this is even in league 2 then so be it. I love this club so much (As do all of you who read this) to see what is happening to it must be like watching some one in the family who is ill. sidthesquid Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 Oh come on..realistic questions only Sid. How about, after six games in League 1, and a heavy defeat to Walsall, do you still feel Rupert and Wotte are the way forward...and our top scorer has signed from the Tyro League. Nobody will answer my question FWIW I think Lowe's position has become untenable here, BUT I don't hate the guy. I think he is dancing to the bank's tune & putting a brave face on it, and I expect that Wotte will fail, but I hope I'm wrong. I expect us to be in League One, so it is a valid question that no-body will answer
sidthesquid Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 Point is Sid, we wouldn't be top of ANY league with these idiots in charge. Particularly with Rupert insisting on McGoldrick playing, he couldn't score in 19 games at Port Vale last season at that level. If we did go top a few may go back but I don't think it would make a lot of difference to me - next season whether I go or not at all depends on what happens over the summer. The objective for me is to remove them by the end of the season, if not before. If they stay, we won't be top of any league Sid, we'll be recovering from a -10 points start. Point is, we could be top of League One, then what? I would bet that attendances would be back up to 20K if we were doing a Leicester, regardless of who's in charge
PhilB Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 I'll still go no matter who's on the board. I just won't look in Mr Lowes direction. I expect the players are p1ssed off at Lowe and his running of the club but are hardly in a position to comment. I love my club no matter how bad they might be playing and I won't let any regime stand in the way of it.

Just boycott the early ST renewal. That alone should send a huge shocking message to the banks, the shareholders, the Board of the PLC. But you can still buy a ST or indeed match tickets later on. St Landrew Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 The present Board show a cynical attitude to a club that they are not worthy to direct. Why should I bother to come along and watch their cheap and disasterous efforts..? Besides, the one thing they take notice of is the positive/negative side of a balance sheet, and so I'll not contribute to their coffers. The current SFC isn't the one I grew up supporting. When it returns to being remotely like it, I'll return too.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 There's little or no chance of me renewing my season ticket with Lowe & Wilde still running things but I can't imagine not going at all next season - Saturday 3pm football's just too big a part of my life to go 'cold turkey' regardless of principle . Spudders Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 I miss going to the football at the moment, but the games I've been to this season (home & away) have sucked the enjoyment out of the whole football experience for me, meaning that in actual fact not going recently has been a lot easier than I'd have thought it would be. From what I've seen so far this season I've resigned myself to the fact we're going down, which whilst annoying isn't the end of the world to me. The drop from the premiership to the championship just meant some new teams to play/new away grounds to go too, and it'd be the same if we went down again. But I too am not going to any more home games (whatever league we are in) until something happens at board level to acknowledge what a shambles our club is now in. We need change at the top and we need it now!!
teamsaint Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 I shall still turn up to support the team.Saints are OUR club, not ruperts, whatever it says on the share certificates. However, I do think that a one match, or even half match boycott, would be a spectacular way to show our dissatisfaction.

mightysaints Posted 19 February, 2009 Share Posted 19 February, 2009 Well Spunky......you are of course entitled to your opinion, but at the grand old age of 55, and having supported them since I was a wee lad, don't come on here spouting of about sh*te fans, because many like me have paid our dues, and in our own little way, helped this club grow. One man has destroyed that, and I and many others have had enougth. When he go's we return...............now then, how long have you been supporting Saints????, that is a genuine question. Fully agree My dad, his brother and a few other old boys have over 300 years worth of ST's between them but have said enough is enough. They have supported Saints since just after the war so don't have ago at anyone who says they will not renew blame the duck shooter for killing this club.
