Nexstar Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Well to be fair sounded second half like we deserved at least a point and just didn't take our first-half chances, will have to see what people at the game thought.
Snowballs2 Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11361 Astonished we didn't get any reward from the game! Hmm... Wotte living in cloud cookoo land
Glasgow_Saint Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Well to be fair sounded second half like we deserved at least a point and just didn't take our first-half chances, will have to see what people at the game thought. Doesnt matter what people think - fact is we lost AGAIN!
pilsburydoughboy Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Rupie looking for his next inspirational idea.
lordswoodsaints Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 ******,bristol could have been 2 up in the first half an hour and then they had a penalty saved as well.
Nexstar Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Doesnt matter what people think - fact is we lost AGAIN! Right, but you were commenting on wotte's assessment of the game, which looks roughly as though it sounded.
SaintRobbie Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Its GB and JP all over again. Same old crap.
SFC Forever Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Kelvin played a blinder for us yet again. What has he got to do to get a contract so we can sell him for a decent figure rather than let him go for nowt.?
um pahars Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 I'm sorry, but we always get the same old promises of "the boys are up for it, they're feeling confident, we know what we have to do, we will be more effective, we will get better results" etc etc etc before matches. And then when we lose/draw, we get the same old excuses of "we were unlucky, I can't believe that result, we looked like getting a point, we didnt lose the war, we feel confident now" etc etc etc. Sorry fella, but you're just another chief talking bllocks and you need to start delivering and, 26 points from 28 games when you were a partnership with Poortvliet, and now, 2 points from 4 games on your own, just aint good enough.
1976_Child Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 "A gobsmacked Mark Wotte was left wondering in amazement as his side came away from Ashton Gate empty handed…" Always the same isn't it.. we we're unlucky... well in my book when you only win 1 game in 14 then you are not just unlucky but you are doing something wrong...
madruss Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 What's really stupid about saying "We deserved more from the game...blah blah blah...etc" is that he's assuming the opposition wouldn't have upped their game if, by some remote chance, we actually did manage to score. The fact is, today's game proved we've made precisely zero progress since we last played Bristol City where also: - Kelvin saved a penalty - City took an early lead - We didn't start playing until the second half - Jason Euell missed a sitter - We didn't f-ing score - We 'deserved' more We're so down.
Um Bongo Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Thats what happens when you dont have a ****ing quality striker you knob. What a knobcheese.
Micky Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Kelvin played a blinder for us yet again. What has he got to do to get a contract so we can sell him for a decent figure rather than let him go for nowt.? If he's not under contract then he can go play for whoever he wishes, and it will not have been lost on lots of managers that his form has been very good this season. The onus is on the board to get him to commit to the club - not on Kelvin, he has more than proved his worth this season.
krissyboy31 Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 We hear this sh!t after evey game. This club is a complete laughing stock!
alpine_saint Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 I wonder what happened to nickh's confident dressing room....
brmbrm Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Well to be fair sounded second half like we deserved at least a point and just didn't take our first-half chances, will have to see what people at the game thought. Errr, that's about right; lose the first half 1-0 (and according to "Wotte do I know" that was a fair reflection) the draw thew second half measn you lose the game????? Plus if you score zero (nul, nil) goals you ain't gonna win???? Tell that to fkuc-Wotte? Win means score. No score, no goal, no win? Simple enough? (Not picking on you)
Chez Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Wotte is right, we should have got something from this game. We totally dominated in the second half and how we didn't take at least one chance I will never know.
harvey Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 I'm sorry, but we always get the same old promises of "the boys are up for it, they're feeling confident, we know what we have to do, we will be more effective, we will get better results" etc etc etc before matches. Yeah but Nick h told us that he'd sent a message into the camp & the replies were positive, they are well up for the fight apparently
badgerx16 Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 how we didn't take at least one chance I will never know. One word, McGoldrick. Or another word, Saganowski. And after that, pick any one from the rest of the team. It doesn't matter one hoot whether we 'deserved' to get something from this game; in this one as in any number of previous games we failed to score. You get nothing for hitting the post, you get nothing for hitting the bar, and over an entire season you get the 'luck' you deserve - which in our case is none ! The "financial necessity" smokescreen that justified loaning out all of our experienced strikers condemned us from day one, and I cannot see any escape right now.
chi saint Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Doesnt matter what people think - fact is we lost AGAIN! Well if it doesn't matter what people think, why are you responding to others comments on this forum. Your wasting your valuable time...FACT. Anyway your wrong, we clearly did deserve something from the game and in parts played very well and in other parts did ok.

So what did we 'get' from the game then that we so richly deserved ?.....**** all as usual.
saintwarwick Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 Wotte is right, we should have got something from this game. We totally dominated in the second half and how we didn't take at least one chance I will never know. Stats show we had more chances on goal (nine to saints and four to City) plus we hit the woodwork twice and one cleared off the line, this from the Bristol City site but it's results that count and we lost 2-0. http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10327~44655,00.html

(not havin a go at you Warwick......just venting!!!) we ain't gonna stay up just coz we had more chances that other teams in the division......it's POINTS we need......not missed opportunities!! harvey Posted 14 February, 2009 Posted 14 February, 2009 There was no argument just stats with facts, please see the highlighted part of my post to see how I saw it So why mention it, we did this, we did that, blah blah blah..........but we lost
Deano6 Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 So why mention it, we did this, we did that, blah blah blah..........but we lost Why go to the game when you could find out the score on teletext later
Saint_clark Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 We hit the post twice and Euell missed two sitters. We deserved a point.
SaintBobby Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 Laughable assessment by Wotte. Bristol City were very worthy winners. We might have nicked a point, but it would have been robbery. This was a game we deserved to lose. For the manager to think or say otherwise smacks of delusion.
offix Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 He is firmly in lock step with Ru**rt. The same comments as JP used to have. Unlucky? My arse!
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 Why go to the game when you could find out the score on teletext later This is precisely my view. I am more than happy catching the score on teletext. I dont know how anybody can justify paying money to watch this shower of utter shyte, led by an idiot dutchman and lorded over by a vengence seeking rosy cheeked cvnt! Hats off to those who still attend, but I think your mental.
saintwarwick Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 So why mention it, we did this, we did that, blah blah blah..........but we lost Guess you didn't read the start of the thread, perhaps if you do that you will see a picture forming. Then again in a blinkered view perhaps not

Was you at the game to post your observations which clearly differ from the Bristol match report or are you still blinkered?

I understand the first half of the Titanic's inaugural voyage was heartily enjoyed by all aboard. Miserable moaning lot of them...

alpine_saint Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 As it seems to annoy Ill keep any info to myself in future An excellent idea. One less mouthpiece for Rooopie..
Ponty Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 Well, having watched the highlights, we deserved something and it wouldn't have been "robbery" or any other such thing. The lads played well, as a unit, and they fought to the end.

Ewell Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 Well, having watched the highlights, we deserved something and it wouldn't have been "robbery" or any other such thing. The lads played well, as a unit, and they fought to the end. I do not fully agree. First half highlights it looked like we were not at the races but did hit the post twice and on another day one of those could have gone in. Second half we looked to be on top but did not really create much of note. A couple of speculative efforts but we did not seem to look dangerous and that was all I got from the highlights. Had we have drawn Bristol City could have no complaints but we certainly did not look like winning the match. I think Bristol must have played within themselves second half and it did look like that had another gear to go up. Oh and why are their players so much faster than ours? We do have some tractors in our team!

Ponty Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 I agree with that last sentence. We don't really seem to have much pace. I can accept that from Saga, Euell, Wotton and Perry but Surman, DMG, Schneiderlin, Gillett, James, etc. would be expected to have a bit more pace about them.
Neilza Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 We were unlucky yesterday. But yesterday was one game, there have been many others where we have been unlucky not to lose by 5 or 6. But in the first half yesterday, BC were the better side and we still hit the post twice and had one cleared off the line. Surman is starting to really frustrate me though, he is so slow and doesn't give a **** unless he has the ball.
VectisSaint Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 We hit the post twice and Euell missed two sitters. We deserved a point. In that case we probably deserved 3 points. But we got no points because we lost. AFAIK at the end of the season the Football League do not review all of the games and award bonus points to teams who deserved to draw or win. Its nice to know we deserved more, but in the end its totally meaningless. We lost, we have lost far too many, we can't score, we have another manager who doesn't know what he is doing, we are going down.

I don't disagree with much of what you've said but you can't blame the manager that the goalposts aren't a foot wider spaced apart. He can't force the players to tuck it inside the post and, that aside, his team created a fair few chances for an away game at the team topping the form league.
Ewell Posted 15 February, 2009 Posted 15 February, 2009 I agree with that last sentence. We don't really seem to have much pace. I can accept that from Saga, Euell, Wotton and Perry but Surman, DMG, Schneiderlin, Gillett, James, etc. would be expected to have a bit more pace about them. The run for that last goal was embarrassing and both Surman and James were shown up for their lack of pace. The real embarrassing thing though is the comments of the Bristol player Sproule after the match. He said that he knew he could outpace our team. The fact he just wellied the ball and went after it proved he was right. I reckon every manager in this league knows we lack pace and I am positive there tactics and team talks focus on this.
