Thedelldays Posted 15 February, 2009 Share Posted 15 February, 2009 TDD - I had a word with one of their coppers and was told the vast numbers they deployed was due to their 'intelligence' - it's far from the norm did it really effect your day much..? saintwarwick Posted 15 February, 2009 Share Posted 15 February, 2009 Oh dear yet another bad day at the office, not seen a match report yet, but at the end of the day its not about how we play anymore we NEED RESULTS NOW & were just not getting them. No surprise today I actually got a prediction right but take no pleasure in that, I'd rather have been wrong & Saints pick up 3 points. Here's one for you: http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10327~44655,00.html
StuRomseySaint Posted 15 February, 2009 Share Posted 15 February, 2009 kaiser it is always bad for brizzle games..dont think they did anything special for us Not to the extent they were policing yesterday. They only get riot cops in for Cardiff and Rovers.

Chez Posted 15 February, 2009 Share Posted 15 February, 2009 TDD - I had a word with one of their coppers and was told the vast numbers they deployed was due to their 'intelligence' - it's far from the norm it kicked off massive style at the last BC game at SMS. It doesn't take much `intelligence' to think that this might happen again - hence the police numbers. What I don't understand is the way they treated `suspected' troublemakers inside the ground. benjii Posted 15 February, 2009 Share Posted 15 February, 2009 It isn't a "strange" choice, it's an absolutely unforgivable choice, yet one we've become used to. I'd have given Wotte a chance, but decisions like that are enough for me. This lazy, appalling, arrogant little **** up front is the most depressing thing about this season. Yet he's rewarded with a new contract and a guaranteed place over internationals like Saga. Please, please, whatever happens, can we please not start league 1 with DMG still here. I can handle losing, I can handle league 1, but I can't handle this contempuous ****head in the team anymore. TBF McGoldrick played a lot better than Saga yesterday. Ruffo Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 I am generally one of the more optimistic people on this forum but I must say I am really struggling. COYR lets have one of those winning streaks that every other club has.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 Its become a depressing reality. And there's no light at the end of the tunnel. We all mocked Derby's plight in their last Prem season and lo and behold we're heading for a similar fate (but one division down). Like others have said, there seems little hope of winning another game this season - the morale in the squad must be rock bottom. Even if Wotte went now, it would be too little too late - we're down and buried. I just hope that Lowe and Wilde lose everything, because I've lost my football club. JohnnyFartPants Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 I understand the sh1t or bust reason for Davis coming up for the corner right at the end but I really do not understand why he didn't get back in goal sooner. Even the ref was in out 18 yard area before him!!

Even the ref was in out 18 yard area before him!! he gave up getting back long before the goal was scored, the ref on the other hand can't give it up - he has to continue to try to stay up with play. Never really understood why the keeper goes up, why not just send an extra outfield player, its not as though Davis is a giant. It matters not. OldNick Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 Anyway, I watched the Championship on ITV too, and guess what? They showed the incident 3 times from different angles. They do that quite a lot on football programmes, you know Yes they do do replays but I was more interested in watching how the 2 players were trying to deal with the very fast attacker. I was not looking to see why a player who was in the penalty area trying to score when the ball was thrown to an attacker 20 yards further forward, had not got back.it was a rubbish point originally. The players gave what they could which waqs not enough and why knock us when they were trying to throw everything forward to get a goal. I recall Alonso scoring from a similar attack last season I odubt many would criticise the players of his opponents because they didnt get back. saint1977 Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 **** the bright side of life. I want to see gordon brown and rupert lowe up on those crosses. That's 2 more crosses than we've seen at SMS all season.
saint1977 Posted 16 February, 2009 Share Posted 16 February, 2009 Total sh*te again, don't know what Wotte was banging on about saying we played really well because we didn't. Davis kept us in it with some great saves and James did quite well but apart from that I wasn't really impressed. Wotton was shocking, 'future Premiership star' Surman was pathetic, and what does NoGoalsh*t have to do to be dropped/subbed? Surman's heart is not at SFC anymore and after a promising start to this season, he's gone back to his bad old ways of last year. No upper body strength and won't tackle. He does pop up with useful goals from midfield but like Lallana, he is technically gifted player that has lost his way at this dump of a club and has been let down by poor coaching and management. He is experienced enough to know a bit better though.
Arizona Posted 16 February, 2009 Author Share Posted 16 February, 2009 Games Saga has scored in for Saints. 06/07 Coverntry away - Lost 3-1 - Saints terrible Ipswich home - Won 1-0 - Saints struggle to score Stoke away - Lost 2-1 - Saints very poor Colchester home - Lost 2-1 - Saints absolutely abysmal Wolves away - Won 6-0 - Saga scores hat trick Luton away - Won 2-0 Sunderland home - Lost 2-1 - Scores against in form team Birmingham away - Lost 2-1 - Scores against in form team 07/08 Palace home - Lost 4-1 - Saints terrible Barnsley home - Lost 3-2 - Saints very poor PNE away - Lost 5-1 - Was it an own goal? Either way, he was in the right place Sheff Utd home - Won 3-2 - Scored when we were 1-0 down needing a win against a team top of the form table 08/09 Donny home - Lost 2-1 - Saints terrible Norwich away - Drew 2-2 - Were hopeless until he came on Swansea home - Drew 2-2 - Score 2 against an in form side. Moral of the story. Saga has a knack of scoring when Saints are struggling and/or playing an in form team.

Never really understood why the keeper goes up, why not just send an extra outfield player, its not as though Davis is a giant. It matters not. I heard somewhere that the keeper is sometimes sent up as it can cause some confusion for the defence as his kit is a different colour. Whether anyone buys that logic or not is another matter..! Never really understood why the keeper goes up, why not just send an extra outfield player, its not as though Davis is a giant. It matters not. I think its more likley that the opo's defence wont have planned to mark up the other teams keeper so he is either more likly to be unmarked or give a few defenders the confusion of knowing if they should stick with there man as planned or try to cover the keeper too. they should train to cover defending against almost the whole team as there would usually be at least 1 midfielder near the half way line and the opo's keeper back in there goal. Everyone will get a man or a zone to cover but the keeper joins in and itr causes problems. We got stung last season was it? neimi also nearly bagged a winner in 1 of our games too i think. hypochondriac Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 Yes he did. (let's leave it there). The consensus view is that he didn't. I've already explained the logic behind keeping Saga on the pitch.
