Window Cleaner Posted 12 February, 2009 Share Posted 12 February, 2009 Most of you who answered this post from me assumed I was referring to financial support or investment. Why ? I wasnt thinking that at all, especially as he is for me "old school" who didnt become a multi-millionarie during his playing days. I was thinking more that if he had made lost of noise, he maybe could have helped bring the curtain down on the Poortvillet era a few weeks' earlier.. It wouldn't have made one iota of difference, he is an ex player who has had a questionable lifestyle from time to time. He has no influence over the current club. He would be seen as a sour grapes ex pro, that's why he clamped his trap. It's been tried before by various players from various clubs, just made them enemies they didn't have before. I believe Sir Bobby Charlton went down that road a long long time ago.

It's There Posted 12 February, 2009 Share Posted 12 February, 2009 I don't think that his media role would allow him to run a one man crusade in order to try to bring about the downfall of a manager. Whatever next - '...he managed to get so and so out of Southampton, lets see if Matt will put out some negative press about .....' I understand what you are saying - in that you probably would like him to be a little more vocal towards our cause - but we have to understand that given the job he is in, he has to be professional and show a good degree of impartiality towards all teams. Mind you, if anybody is still thinking that he lacks passion for us, a quick reminder for you... enjoy..! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUt5CQPyWzs What a clip...Matt, Pearson as manager... the future looked brighter...oh well
SaintRobbie Posted 12 February, 2009 Share Posted 12 February, 2009 Really sad. I wish the great man would call for Lowe's head. That would really start the protests. Me too. It's about time all the old Saints stars came off the fence and supported Lawrie Mac. Keeping their powder-dry is no longer required. We need Lowe out and Wotte out very quickly to stand any chance of survival.
SaintRobbie Posted 12 February, 2009 Share Posted 12 February, 2009 http://www.exsaints.co.uk/ Seeing these guys come out against Lowe would be the most wonderful piece of work from these players. Come on guys.. we need your help to save this Club. Help us get Lowe OUT.
captainchris Posted 13 February, 2009 Share Posted 13 February, 2009 He's obviously been watching us play then! Short term contract 'til the end of the season, Tiss?! Even now you'd cover more ground than DMG! Total and utter gang culture populist moronic comment.. McGoldrick is actually quite skillful - the ball always sticks to him and he brings others into play. Tactics have left him marooned alone all season with no joining in from midfield. Please get a life and make a constructive comment about a player rather than you gutter press comic comments!

The ball is rarely 'dead' when he has his first touch and he doesn't have particularly quick feet.

CB Fry Posted 13 February, 2009 Share Posted 13 February, 2009 I know, how about a Hoddle -Le Tissier management partnership ? Yeah, because those two really get on, don't they Le Tiss is one in the gigantic majority of people in the football world that think Glenn Hoddle is a total cn ut. Basically, that's everyone except Paul Ince and John Gorman.
SaintRobbie Posted 13 February, 2009 Share Posted 13 February, 2009 I would still like a statue of Le Tiss by the players entrance with.. LOYALTY on the plinth. I know its too much to ask these days, but its a motto we should contemplate.
