Master Bates Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 In todays Echo they have the story about David McGoldrick & Bradley Wright Phillips attacking a Saints fan outside the Giddy Bridge, oo'er
scott_saints Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Anything on the web version MB? Not yet.
Master Bates Posted 10 February, 2009 Author Posted 10 February, 2009 (edited) Not yet. +1. They only mention that the fan was attacked and left with take away food, grazes, cuts & bruises over him due to the two players. Doesn't mention whether the fan had done anything to deserve it or not. Edited 10 February, 2009 by Master Bates
Ponty Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 As soon as we see something perhaps one of the other admin/mods could 'undelete' that thread if I'm not around.
The Majestic Channon Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Anything on the web version MB? There was , then i looked again the wierdo in the nappy was back and the bwp dm headline was gone.
Grim Reaper Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Done anything to deserve it ! Even though verbal abuse should not be condoned it still doesnt mean someone can physically assault someone, if this proves to be the case with these players then they should never pull on a red and white shirt again.

Ffs!!
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 On there now folks! http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/ Only a headline though!
The Majestic Channon Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 On there now folks! http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/ Only a headline though! Still have to endure that pic of john westwood in his highchair though unfortunately
saint lard Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Done anything to deserve it ! Even though verbal abuse should not be condoned it still doesnt mean someone can physically assault someone, if this proves to be the case with these players then they should never pull on a red and white shirt again. I think we heard this statement a few months back with reference to another unsavoury incident.
Saint Martini Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Done anything to deserve it ! Even though verbal abuse should not be condoned it still doesnt mean someone can physically assault someone, if this proves to be the case with these players then they should never pull on a red and white shirt again. Could it be that this fan started the physical assault but ended up being the one hurt? Just a thought.
The Majestic Channon Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Could it be that this fan started the physical assault but ended up being the one hurt? Just a thought. Could be, thats why everyone should reserve judgment for now.
Saint Martini Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Could be, thats why everyone should reserve judgment for now. Maybe we should reserve judgement even after the Echo has the story online. The chances of them sticking to the facts are pretty slim.
alpine_saint Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Are we sure the Echo hasnt just lifted the story from here ?
Ponty Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Could be.. The word "Claim" is a bit ambiguous.
Teddy Nutkins Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Saw the headlines on a board outside a newsagents on the way to work this morning. Sad sad times. How true is that........you know, nobody begruges the lads a little rest and relaxation, but ffs is there nobody at the club to guide these youngsters and explain to them that with the position the team is in, the protests that are going on, you use a little discretion as to where you have a drink or a night out. I am not saying this story is true or not,but for goodness sake young people need guidance, irrespective of whether they are footballer's on 5K a week.If it is true, the club and the police need to come down hard on those found at fault.
Grim Reaper Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Thats why i say if this proves to be the case, there are two sides to a story so im not being judge and jury

Ponty Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Just read the piece in the echo. Says a 21 year old has made a claim he was attacked by BWP and DMG. He was left with bruises, grazes and take away food on him. Police are looking into it. No one has been arrested etc Statement due on wednesday. I think that's enough to resurrect the original thread. I'll lock this one and bring back the old one. Cheers all.
