I don't normally quote on this sort of thing. if we enter admin I think it would be a dark day and not the dawning of a new age as some seem to think, (although I don't know if it can get darker than this). But I got to ask, where is it? Some of you are in the know and we are going in to admin in the first week of February - That's gone.

The we are being wound up on 8th Feb – Than’s gone

The admin is happening on 9th Feb – That has gone

The admin ius happening any day know – That is the expression that hides a scoundrel.

 

When it happens, it happens. None of you know anything about it and you wont until it happens. Why you may ask? That is because IF and WHEN it happens not enough people will be let into the inner sanctum to know, so it wont have a chance to leak. And all this, ‘I got it from a reliable source, but I can’t name him.’ Do me and everyone a little favour. If it isn’t true, just don’t bother. If you want to do it to make a political point, just don’t bother. If it is true, don’t betray a confidence, this is a friend of yours, and don’t bother.

 

We will all know soon enough.

Lowe point for Southampton

 

Southampton's beleaguered chairman Rupert Lowe, who regained a club left in financial meltdown by the chronic mismanagement of the regime that forced him out of office, will have to make a major decision by the third week of March.

 

That is whether to put the club into administration and take the Football League’s 10-point penalty this season.

Southampton, whose bank Barclays are threatening to reduce their overdraft facility considerably, have to find extra monies by the end of next month to keep afloat.

One point to remember though. The bank want their overdraft reduced.

 

That means we pay them money back

 

That NOW means we have to sell LOTS of season tickets OR lots of players, or we go into admin in the summer and get hit with a higher points deduction next season.

 

The PROBLEM is having enough cash flow between now and mid March to pay wages and bills. Just because the CLUB has to make the decision by mid-March does not mean the bank or our trading position won't make that decision EARLIER.

 

I expect that some of these rumours about dates could stem from planned dates of meetings with the bank to review the trading performance. Possibly people hear of the dates either from friends at the bank or at the club and realise that if the meeting goes badly.......

 

As we aren't in admin yet then somebody must be handling those meetings quite well.

Well just trying to analyse the facts as we see them here tbh. We owe bucket loads to the bank who want it back.

 

We have to pay an annual mortgage fee

 

And nobody wants to renew their season tickets either because Lowe is here or the team is carp (or both).

 

So we're back to yacht watches, buying lottery tickets, selling players OR the Football Association may realise that half of the League teams are on the verge of going bust and may try to do something about it and re-distribute some of the wealth from PL players to the pyramid.... hahahahah.. as if

 

So yeah as I see it fire sale if we last until the summer in the current state we are in

The tradgedy is, given an earlier warning, Captain Smith would have avoide the Iceberg

 

Lowe has had MONTHS of warning re Saints decline due to his Pipedreams, and has stumbled Blindly onwards on the SAME path

 

The man is an arrogant egomaniac, who knows absolutely NOTHING about what makes a Football CLUB tick

The irony is that Lowe was appointed to avoid the financial meltdown and administration caused by 'the gross financial mismanagement of the previous board'.

 

He will fail in his chief mission... FAILED TO SORT OUT THE FINANCES. FAILED TO AVOID ADMINISTRATION.

 

He has failed his shareholders - 17p and falling.

 

He has failed in his youth policy.

 

He has failed in his managerial appointment(s).

 

He has failed the youth set up - badly damaging its reputation.

 

He has failed to maintain the support of his customers (or are we fans now he needs us I forget) - he has lost more fans than any other chairman in Southampton's history - I think that is correct in terms of numbers - no doubt Duncan can confirm or deny this for me.

 

He has taken a salary and expenses and delivered nothing - interesting parallels with Swansea's Chairman who has taken almost nothing.

 

FAILED. Now, can someone tell me why is he still here?

 

Because the answer to that final question causes me the most concern. It is very very worrying. It is worrying because he cannot accept failure and financially is secure enough to carry on and carry on here at Southampton until he dies or is successful. I think the former is more likely. I think he may try and carry on for another dozen years unless we get him out now whilst he's vulnerable.
