LeBenali Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 They couldn't even finish their food lol etc etc
saintbletch Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 This was also covered in the Guardian's irreverent footy email "The Fiver". Police are investigating claims that Southampton strikers David McGoldrick and Bradley Wright-Phillips were involved in a fracas that left a 21-year-old Saints supporter covered in bruises and takeaway food in the early hours of last Saturday.
Weston Super Saint Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Ian Wright must be fuming. Why? Do you think he's still waiting for his kebab?
Window Cleaner Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Ian Wright must be fuming. Why? must be getting pretty used to it by now.
lordswoodsaints Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 BWP is turning into the next nelson mandela........he just cant stay out of prison.
lordswoodsaints Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 And that's where we differ. You think it is perfectly acceptable to give someone a good kicking just because they said a few nasty words - sticks and stones and all that. I, on the other hand disagree, and much the same as the law, think that physical violence is not acceptable!! In my line of work I would be knocking people out every Friday and Saturday night at closing time because they had a few to drink and got a little bit lairy! where do you work? mothercare?
hamster Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 I had lunch today with BWP (Banana Wharf) and he totally denied the so called attack, as he left he asked me to call the Echo and put the record straight, I said I would but now I cannot find my mobile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very funny IMHO. Although I don't think that this is a subject which you should be making jokes about, I just saw on Meridian that the poor victim is still in a Korma.
hamster Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 BWP is turning into the next nelson mandela........he just cant stay out of prison. To be fair though, Nelson Mandela seems to have learnt from his sentence. He hasn't re-offended has he.
Sheaf Saint Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 An awful lot of people here seem to be working on the assumption that the guy who was assaluted was 'screaming abuse' at the two players. Yet the claim seems to be that he was collecting a takeaway and asked them when they were going to start doing the business. That doesn't constitute 'screaming abuse' in my book - if anything it's a fair question. They haven't exactly set the world alight with their prolific scoring antics this season, and when they are doing such a high-profile job very badly, they should be well aware that they are likely to face questions from those who effectively pay their over-inflated wages.
pilsburydoughboy Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Why? Do you think he's still waiting for his kebab? Seasoned campaigner for family health and hater of fat kids i dont think he would be eating a kebab.
lordswoodsaints Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 To be fair though, Nelson Mandela seems to have learnt from his sentence. He hasn't re-offended has he. didnt he get done for nicking japanese car parts that were wrongly delivered to his house? apparently the delivery driver got confused the delivery address was NISSAN MAINDEALER,SOUTH AFRICA.

I really want to say that dats unfunny, but can't bring myself down your level this evening.

They haven't exactly set the world alight with their prolific scoring antics this season, and when they are doing such a high-profile job very badly, they should be well aware that they are likely to face questions from those who effectively pay their over-inflated wages. And this is the problem. If what was said was true that the guy was jokingly asking them when they would start performing and they took offence to it then they deserve whatever they get. I recall being out on the town and seeing MLT after he missed his penalty, i said to him you should of put it the other side joking about and he laughed and told me i should of told him before. That is the difference. Guys like MLT are legends not because of what they do just on the field but what they do off it. The fact is BWP and DMG are not playing well and have to share some of the blame for their poor displays which have ultimatly put us in the situation table wise. Because of that they have to be seriously stupid if they feel they can go out and not expect people to question their displays in town. This is the real world, something i doubt either of them live in.

Yet the claim seems to be that he was collecting a takeaway and asked them when they were going to start doing the business. . You seem to be working on the idea that he only asked when they were going to start doing the buisness. Logically, for them to apparently attack someone I would work on the assumption he did alot more than ask a question.
Mole Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 BWP is turning into the next nelson mandela. I think comparing BWP with a terrorist is going a bit too far.
St Marco Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 You seem to be working on the idea that he only asked when they were going to start doing the buisness. Logically, for them to apparently attack someone I would work on the assumption he did alot more than ask a question. That of course requires them to be logical. The fact one of them was a look out for a stealing session i would not say logic is at least one of thems strong points.
Hopkins Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 That said, nobody knows what actually happened but having just spoke to a player about it, they are not worried about the allegations going around.
Weston Super Saint Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 That said, nobody knows what actually happened but having just spoke to a player about it, they are not worried about the allegations going around. Wasn't that the line trotted out when BWP was being questioned last time?
ooh it's a corner Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Very funny IMHO. Although I don't think that this is a subject which you should be making jokes about, I just saw on Meridian that the poor victim is still in a Korma. I guess it was a case of a few beers and a little argy bhaji
bridge too far Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 I guess it was a case of a few beers and a little argy bhaji Do you suppose the victim went up to the boys and said 'Aloo'? Fetchin' my coat...
Huge Baboon Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 I guess it was a case of a few beers and a little argy bhaji First chips they've got on target all season....allegedly.
trousers Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 That said, nobody knows what actually happened but having just spoke to a player about it, they are not worried about the allegations going around. Not worried? Just about sums up the apathy at the club. Even if they are innocent I'd be worried about my reputation. Oh well, shrug shoulders all round
Thedelldays Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 to be fair...even if he did do it..all they would have to do is score a goal and us fans will be calling them "legends"
Sheaf Saint Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 You seem to be working on the idea that he only asked when they were going to start doing the buisness. Logically, for them to apparently attack someone I would work on the assumption he did alot more than ask a question. In fairness, that is what was originally posted. I'm not assuming anything. True, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that there was more to it than that, but I'm just curious where people get the idea that he was hurling abuse at them as nowhere has that been claimed as yet.
Weston Super Saint Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 to be fair...even if he did do it..all they would have to do is score a goal and us fans will be calling them "legends" You do know the players in question are BWP and McGoaldrought don't you?
benjii Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 It's unfair to pillaury the players like this.
Weston Super Saint Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 It's unfair to pillaury the players like this. Life isn't 'fair'
AwaySaint1 Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Why do you think it is that when a criminal case may come to court the echo do not allow anyone to comment on a story ? Maybe Baj is the best person to answer this question..
Mole Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 I was watching a fly on the wall police documentary tonight based mainly in South London. I noticed a common theme.
trousers Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 The police have been looking for a motive but have found naan.
SoccerMom Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Cod knows if their careers will survive this.

Mole Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 The police have been looking for a motive but have found naan. Burger-lary sounds the most plausible explanation.
trousers Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Burger-lary sounds the most plausible explanation. Relish the thought
SoccerMom Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Guess we'll get a few more nuggets of information in the morning.
trousers Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 I've heard that the alleged victim asked the Saints pair if they wanted a pizza the action. Fear not....it get's wurst
Mole Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Guess we'll get a few more nuggets of information in the morning. The difficult part will be pizzaing the information together.

trousers Posted 10 February, 2009 Posted 10 February, 2009 Why do I get the feeling that the alleged victim is telling a Whopper?
