Today, I think it's more about the weather." Is this guy for real? I was fairly happy, all things considered on Saturday. And midweek I expect a few didn't turn up because of the weather. Can you elaborate on whatever point you're trying to make, which hasn't already been made in every other Wotte-bashing thread on the board?
Mole Posted 6 February, 2009 Posted 6 February, 2009 The weather was a big factor as was it being a night match, but using 17K as a benchmark what about the 4-5,000 who were missing for the Saturday game compared to the previous season? Our season ticket uptake saw the largest decline in the football league (second only to Morecambe). Explain that Mr Spock.
Wes Tender Posted 6 February, 2009 Posted 6 February, 2009 Wotte blames low crowd on weather )http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/7869841.stm) Wotte told BBC Radio Solent: "We had 17,000 on Saturday, they all went home satisfied with the performance. Today, I think it's more about the weather." Is this guy for real? Yes. It was to do with the weather; whether they could be arsed to see another home defeat. Whether they could be arsed to keep Lowe here any longer. Whether they were prepared to pay top dollar for watching dross. He obviously wasn't intelligent to figure out that we had 17,000 because (a)Swansea used their entire allocation of seats and (b) our attendance figures included all ST holders whether they were there or not © there may well have been a slightly increased attendance because of that 1/2000 who came on the march and went to the match as a result. If he believes they all went home satisfied after the match, then he really hasn't a clue.
Badger Posted 7 February, 2009 Posted 7 February, 2009 Reminds me of a secular analogy someone made earlier..... We must be approaching Planet Rupert.
Norm Posted 7 February, 2009 Posted 7 February, 2009 lol, this is one of my favourite quotes, ever! It brings a smile to my face, every time I see it. I left SMS last sat more than happy with what I saw and felt it was value for money. But bear in mind, Swansea brought a large number of fans with them. I can't say that I agree with staying away from SMS, whatever the reason, but it's personal choice and I can understand.
SaintRobbie Posted 7 February, 2009 Posted 7 February, 2009 LOL! I'd forgotten that piece of Lowe magic. Hope Duncan's got it down and is going to put it in his next book... 'Southampton - The Low (e) Years'
