I have had an Email from Carol at the sports desk, which says:

 

Hi Neil

 

Sorry I haven't got back to you yet. I have had a quick look but cannot find the article you are referring to. Everyone is tied up on deadlines during the morning so I will check again later for you.

So I rightfully apologise if this turns out to be a hoax by my friend. But lets not pass judgement until she has had a proper look. I have now provided her with the wording of the article.

Right. I have just received a telephone call from the paper. The article DOES exist and it will be sent through to me asap. I will of course post it on here as soon as I receive it.

I received a phone call this morning from them saying they had it. But I have just received the email from them now. I will happily share the email traffic with anyone. Or like I say you are more than welcome to phone the sports desk to see if I have bothered going to that extent. I have nothing to hide.

 

Like I say I will apologise if this turns out to be nothing. What more would you like me to do?

For completeness my friend has agreed to scan the newspaper article in and send it to me so people can see it first hand. Hopefully he will send it in the next day or so. Rather than emailing individuals does anyone have the ability to post it to the web (canit be done on here) or am I entering into dodgy ground if we copy an article?

 

 

Hopefully tommorrow then. Just hope he hasn't lost it.

If you bothered to read the thread I have emailed the paper. Unfortunately they do not respond as quickly as you would like.

 

You fail to grasp the key point. I have said all the way along I don't think there is any vaildity in this. I point you in the direction of my first post. But rather than sitting in my ivory tower insulting others, I have bothered to get back in contact with the person and contact the paper. Have you?

 

Again, I draw your attention to the first post, when I asked if anyone else had heard anything similar. You have not so fine. Thanks for your contribution to the post, but noone is making you continue posting here.

 

There are some really decent people on here who spend time reading posts carefully and make well thought out responses. Others just look for opportunities to attack people. Unfortunately you are in the later category. I have not once resorted to personal insults.

The idea that no-one at the Express and Star have no recollection of a news story about Wolverhampton Wanderers releasing a club statement about their intention to purchase and develop another Coca Cola Championship Club should tell you all you need to know.

 

For the Express and Star (as I have said several times) that is a massive story. A gigantic story. Not something people would say "ohh, not sure, it might be here somewhere". It would be on the frigging front page.

 

 

I know you say at the beginning you didn't think it was a story with any validity, and that's fine.

 

If you look at when I joined this thread, its when you started putting that fake newspaper article on here as proof.

 

In fact, go back to the first page of the thread. There I am adding to the debate about why Lowe wouldn't sell to Morgan.

 

And then I don't come back on here until the "news story" turns up, which is just an embarrassing fake.

 

 

 

You can't have it both ways: either you think its a load of nonsense and stop going on about it.

 

Or you believe it, ring up sportsdesks to chase fake articles and get arsey when anyone dares suggest its rubbish. Which is what you seem to be doing.

 

You seem to think that only you are allowed to say you don't believe it, and everyone else must hang on until you give us permission to admit it is utter ********.

 

 

Sorry, some of us have half a brain, and realise that newspaper article is a fake (an embarrassing apalling fake) and is making you look ridiculous.

 

And stop pretending you are at the heart of some fantasticly interesting story and we should all thank you for it. You're not, you just look silly.

Can you point me to any post I have made where I defend the this fake club statement? People have asked me to chase it up and I have. I think you are being extremely harsh. Why don't you read through all my posts on this and see exactly what I have said. Yes I could be made to look silly - and I have said I will freely apologise.

Do you know what I have much better things to do with my life than be abused to this extent. I have tried to be open about this I have done all of this in good faith. I have even given my personal email out to people who have asked. I think it is best if I request this thread is deleted. I dont want anything to do with this forum anymore. The few saints fans who know me appreciate i am genuine.

 

It is only fair as I started the thread to pass anything factual I am given. Accordingly I will email it to a mod.

 

The sad thing is I fell in love with a club that was based on the principle of being inclusive; a family club. I am afraid those who say the board has lost that need to look closer to home.

What I don't like about any of this is overt snobbery shown by so many Saints fans. The fact that Steve Moran is a truck driver in Hull does not mean that he should be overlooked as a potential investor. I don't think that it is right for a former player, a legend of Southampton to be treated with such disrepect. I also don't like the way that the original poster has been lambasted for suggesting that Moran should be welcomed back. I never thought I would say this, but some Saints fans make me feel ashamed. Maybe if Steve were to fall ill and down on his luck, like Ron Davies, then maybe people would have more time for him?

Im sorry but I can personally say that Torbay Saint is red and white through and through. I can say this as he is my brother. Now he put this up in good faith sharing what he found, whether or not this was true or not. Now to have abuse written about him is totally way out of line. People on this forum are in my opinion are rude and cant wait to get on peoples backs. This is not what the forum is about.
