Rumour from Wolves

Torbay Saint

Recommended Posts

CCC teams are quite cheap.

Ones with good support and infrastructure such as us and Wolves don't need too much money to give a better than 50/50 chance of promotion to the premiership.

Then can be sold for big profit.

Torbay, although football investment is a mugs game I always thought this getting decent sized clubs to premiership and walking away is the only wany to make money in football. Although some find it hard to walk away at the right time

Most people find it hard to walk away from investments at the right time, football or others! You keep thinking you can make more if you hang on a bit longer.

I would love this to be true. It is interesting that the TV has just been signed and it would be noticed that the deal is recession proof (tv rights wise anyway) the thought of buying inot a club that could realisitcally go up to the PL (when it was managed correctly with a sound financial base)with its infrastructure and fanbase might make us a tempting target.

So if this turns out to be true does that mean Rupes and co will be letting go of the club for a tenner? (or at least allot less than it is currently worth)

If the deal is something similar to the one that got him wolves I mean? Surly that would be the kind of fan friendly deal that Leon would be trying to make rather than something that Rupes would agree too.

dont get me wrong as I would love it to be true but it just doesnt sound like anything Rupes would be interested in and sounds more like something a main shareholder on the outside (currently LC) would be shouting about to stir up some kind of rabble to beat the current chairmen.

Made me chuckle....

With Liverpool still ignoring his advances, the former Redrow boss is turning his attention to a new land-purchase venture. We meet a man throwing himself into his work …

This might not be the best time to meet Steve Morgan. It is just a few days after the construction magnate’s beloved Liverpool FC were beaten 2-0 by serial relegation dodger Southampton, and the defeat still clearly pains him. “We made them look like Real Madrid,” he grumbles.

A miracle worker....just what we need.... :)

Just to be nit-picky but it is not illegal for one bloke to own two football clubs. It is however, and rightly so, against FA rules. So one bloke could own two football clubs but he would not be able to enter them both into the FA leagues. But there is nothing illegal about it.

Nits being picked. Either way the original rumour is just pure tosh...

EDIT: I guess it is therefore "il-league-al" !!

Morgan is more renowned for buying poor quality / toxic land and regenerating it

Redrow have a large landholding at North East taunton for instance which is a huge greenfield urban extension. I know of at least 3 other urban extensions they are involved in and have been for a long time.

What do the FA rules say about said bloke using a family member as a conduit? (for example)

Hmmm...interesting....which, as you say, could put Jackson's Farm in the frame

Well not quite yet. In the interests of keeping an OPEN MIND I have emailed the reporter. I thank you for you enlightening contribution to this thread.

My opinion is based on experience, of bulsh*tters coming on here and taking the p*ss. I don't for one minute think you're any different from LLS, St David or tommac.

Crawl back under your stone.

Totally uncalled for. He has mentioned throughout that it is something he heard and not an ironed on fact. Why speak to him like that? If there is a stone being used as a roof, may I suggest it could be above your head?

Hmmm it sounds too good to be true... though as a few people have said, Ujpest friendly, links with wilde and jersey friendly, jacksons farm... it all kind of links together.

Fingers are firmly crossed, though i still feel this is unlikely, great thread though Torbay, keep any new snippets of info coming that you recieve.

To be fair he hasnt come on saying anything is definitley going to happen and took a fair bit of stick for his OP. He has come back with the report and is contacting the reporter for more info.

it might turn out to be a load of guff but it doesnt look like Torbay Saint is the one on the wind up to me.

I have said that poeple are welcome to PM me and to add me on facebook to see the messages for themselves! Some poeple have taken me up on this and have seen it for themselves. Maybe you would like to do the same??

It would be the world worst wind up to invent an article that could not be traced really wouldn't it! There is no way I would ever wind anyone up about the current mess the club in.

Thanks for the support from everyone else though!

OK, apologies for the 'insults'. But put me in the 'sceptical' camp.

I dont think anyone would or should be anything other than sceptical to be honest, trouble is our frustration sometimes boils over.

At the end of the day we are all Saints fans and all want and hope for better times.

Fair play to you for apologising
