krissyboy31 Posted 6 February, 2009 Share Posted 6 February, 2009 Nooo, that's an unlucky name, the baseball Cubs haven't won anything in 101 years, even we have done better than that. About right then!

Window Cleaner Posted 6 February, 2009 Share Posted 6 February, 2009 Or even pronounced. Stones and glasshouses. I am an awful typist, I may miss out letters, or put in ones which do not belong but those that should be there are, usually, in the right order albeit infested by a few that shouldn't be or should be but aren't if you catch my drift.. In my day educated men did not type, they dictated or wrote in longhand. I guess I never got on the space age bandwagon on that one. Do not forget, one of the Apollo missions failed to take off because there was a comma missing in the program controlling(cobol or fortran I suppose) the launch sequence.I probably went to school with that guy. Window Cleaner Posted 6 February, 2009 Share Posted 6 February, 2009 hey, I don't have many more posts than you. I was just joking but there have been so many rumours that everyone gets a little cynical. Steve Morgan might actually make one of the better suggested owners if it were to happen. What about that bloke who owns the Patriots, doesn't he want to buy a "soccer" team? Perhaps we could get Kaka on free agency for a couple of 2017/8 first round picks, or one of T-Tim's starlets in the draft.

beatlesaint Posted 6 February, 2009 Share Posted 6 February, 2009 I'm not 100%, but I don't think you can own two clubs. you can't......unless the rules have changed. Remember Robert Maxwell owned Oxford then wanted to own Derby (i think) so he bought one of them for his son ! Then there is the Pompey bloke....doesnt his Dad own a European club so he bought the cowboy outfit for his son ?

saintwarwick Posted 6 February, 2009 Share Posted 6 February, 2009 Isn't it more likely that someone from Southampton would notice the ins and outs of Saint Mary's? Not saying it's wrong or anything, just doesn't add up that a Wolves fan would notice their chairman coming in and out of a stadium in the south... Not keen on Mick either, seems to be a poor man's Glenda in terms of man management. TBF I'd rather be in Wolves shoes at the moment than ours. Mole Posted 6 February, 2009 Share Posted 6 February, 2009 Unless of course one of the two clubs mentioned sold themselves to the Hungarian team who were linked to both all last week. hmm There's something fishy about the Ujpest connection to both clubs. If the Hungarian chairman buys wolves the ex wolves chairman could easily do what Manadric did and come to Saints.

The owner of my local NFL team is/was worth several hundred million dollars (founded Home Depot - largest DIY chain in US). Supposedly interested in starting an MLS team here. If he would only return my phone calls, might get him interested in a feeder club in England.

Wiltshire Saint Posted 6 February, 2009 Share Posted 6 February, 2009 I personally would welcome this. I think that Steve Moran would offer a lot to the club. krissyboy31 Posted 6 February, 2009 Share Posted 6 February, 2009 Unlike the likes of Lowe Jack put his club before himself. Yes, but his family owned the football club 100% and ran it as a fan, for the fans. Lowe runs SLH for the PLC shareholders or more precisely his clique's shareholding. CanadaSaint Posted 7 February, 2009 Share Posted 7 February, 2009 You have to wonder whether something is happening. Lowe and Wilde, supposedly at their wits end for keeping the corporation alive, tell Crouch to wrap his 'lifeline' around his own neck and pull. We hang onto players when all the indicators were that we had no choice but to sell them - almost at any price. There are rumbles about at least one loanee coming back - one who could have generated a significant transfer fee income. I'm sick of the false dawns too, but you can't help wondering how all this fits together.
trousers Posted 7 February, 2009 Share Posted 7 February, 2009 You have to wonder whether something is happening. I doubt that a friendly againsts a Hungarian club that have strong ties with Wolves who have an ex-property developing mogul, with Jersey connections, as chairman, shortly followed by a club trip for a friendly in Jersey has no significance whatsoever..... Even a conspiracy theorist couldn't have made those FACTS up....?
dubai_phil Posted 7 February, 2009 Share Posted 7 February, 2009 When was Morgan at SMS Phil? Well, obviously I drop by there every day to check out comings and goings:p Or I read it in the OP and was commenting Like you I get the feeling something has been going on the last few weeks, but at the moment my analysis reckons it was Professor Plum in the Library by accident whilst chasing a giant wasp, so need to re-visit that slightly Meanwhile, sad to see the Queen won't make it down here to mine & EoA's for tea next month due to The Duke's bad back.
