Has it not been accepted that we rejected bids for Lallana and Surman then?

 

He's said a bit too much since he got his promotion but I don't think that piece is one of the ones to get het up about.

 

Also; editing in a caveat at a later time is not cool.

reasonable?? a waste of time id call it. Yeah yeah so we didnt accept a bid of 2p, so what. Im more interested to hear what he has planned to keep us up, could do without yet more board room loving thank you very much

Perhaps what is more telling is the comment about the strength of the team being more important than the short term finances.

MAybe were not in quite as much financial trouble as certain doom mongers on here would like us to believe.

It's easy to see how this guy got the job - looks like one of those ass kissers who spend more time sucking up to their employers than actually working.

 

He must have took lessons from Dave Jones - he's the master of doing a **** job and getting away with it.

totally reasonable. People made their minds up on him before seeing how he gets on and slag off everything he says.

Indeed but it is thought the club received 2 bids for 2 players. 1 of those bids was for Dyer from Swansea which leaves 1 other. Now i have heard a lot of mixed stuff out of the club, i'm sure others will be able to shead more light but i was told the other bid was for BWP. As far as i was aware there was no bids for anyone else which would include The Echo. Now of course we could all be wrong but it would seem The Echo have heard the same thing pretty much. I wonder if he has got a note from an anonymous person saying there were bids? ;)

 

It would be interesting though to hear those who have far better contacts then me at the club thoughts on what they have heard transfer wise?

 

Either way if the 2 bids thing is true then he has to be lying about 1 of them at least as that would make 3 bids.

Do you know how interviews work? Do you know an 'angle' is? Journo asks a range of questions. Interviewee answers them. Journo writes story. Sub Editor leaves out bits and sexes it up.

 

If he was asked "are you pleased with the support of the board in not losing any players during January" there isnt much else he can say.

The thing is clubs might well have contacted Saints and made an offer so they could talk to the player but if the club felt the offer was not enough then there is no reason for the player to be told.

 

So Surman not mentioning it in the echo could be that he was not informed. I had a call on Friday evening to say Reading were lining up a bit for him to replace Hunt (it came from within Reading) so they may have made initial contact. In any event Hunt stayed.

 

The same for Adam. Certailly he knew nothing about it when I last spoke to someone on Saturday. I have not been told anything changed.

 

Ot it might easily be pure spin.

its crap because we all know that had the offers been anything near what we (the club) value them at then they would have gone. Still a s**t article and no need to spin yet more BS. I have had enough of "the board this and board that" bollix, its a shame MW doesnt put the same effort into getting his team to play football. So far from him we have had his rant about the protest, the blaming the weather for low support (yes granted it may have played a part but if we were top of the league it owuld have been a lot more) and now this? Sorry it stinks too much of Lowe et al for me

Stanley's reply is only as one-dimensional as yours.

Only a Lowe luvvy could think the snow is Lowe's fault, if you consider him to be your God then he could influence the weather I suppose. Everyone knows the country grinding to a halt is Wilde's fault, not Lowe's.

Just sounds to me like a comment without a point, the board knows the fans arent exactly keen on them and no matter how much pro board crap the manager spouts wont change that. Change the record Mark and focus on getting the team to play please.

Did Lowe not say that as saga was back we would have to sell

as his wagers were high?

 

Or is the financial gloom noise coming out of SMS not as bad as we are supposed to believe?

no, not happy, thought Swansea gave me hope as thought team showed more character under him and better tactics but disappointed with what I saw on Tuesday.

This is not a witch hunt, its a fan getting p1s*ed off with the constant carp coming from within saints at the moment. They all seem far to occupied with having a swipe at us than doing whats important. As for the 3 game thing, in both the Norwich and Swansea games we should have lost but were lucky to gain 2 points, sorry if that doesnt fill me with optimism. Wotte is no better than JP, both are reactive rather than proactive. Wotte is clearly lowes glove puppet and im fed up with reading / hearing these stories with sly digs all the time. Criticism and negative OTT you say..what part of 'we are 2nd bottom and falling' dont you get? i see no reason to not be critical or optimistic

Ah but if he didn't lay of the gritter drivers then you would blame him for the increase in the council tax to offset the extra costs incurred. He's in a no win situation.

Go and read the top article (Top right related stories, from the orginal link) oh by the way i have no issue with the statement either, with the exception of him thanking the board for holding thier nerve and not selling, when in the other article he says he turned down the bids. As i said no problem with the statement, just more spin bull**** from the borad and not his problem, except being used as a puppet

I am not filled with optimism at all either.

 

I did think Swansea was an improvement on Doncaster but he has a lot more to do to make me think he is any good.

 

Still think any manager appointed needs more than 3 games, if you don't fair enough.

 

2nd from bottom is sh1t, and if thread was 2nd bottom is sh1t I would agree its fair comment.

 

But to slate a manager for saying he is pleased his better player were not sold when most thought (and nearly all on here) that they would is OTT, blinkered negativity.
