Fitzhugh Fella Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I am getting the impression that Lowe is still picking the team ie not letting the likes of Euell start because it does not fit in with the pre-season boast of going with the youngsters. Has Wotte got a free hand? Is Lowe's pledge to McGoldrick that "he is our centre-forward this season" coming back to haunt him? So many questions but here is a fact - one win in 16 home games - and even against 10 men we still can't muster a point. I could live (just about) with Lowe running this club as long as he kept his nose out of football matters but I cannot stand him dictating who should be eligible for selection and who shouldn't be. As usual with Lowe it is all down to ego, politics and self-justification.
Colinjb Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 He shows such a tendancy to experiment I wouldn't be surprised. The man is eccentric and arrogant, it would make sense and be true to form if he is.

Did I hear right on the radio?

I'm with you on that Dunc, if he had the courage of his convictions then the old tracksuit would be out already...unfortunately this latest 'project' has Lowe stamped all over it...inability to admit errors in judgement, and heading towards three managers in a season again....now when did we last see that happen? Hmmm.... The last Relegation Season...surprise surprise...
alpine_saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 FFS he must have been there tonight? No? Apparently not.
Colinjb Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I think Wotte is just crap Duncan to be honest. But I am confused over Skacel. Surman at Left Back???? Did I hear right on the radio? He has been hankering for a move all window, probably hasn't given his all in training in that time. Give him a week to prove his commitment at least.
alpine_saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 He has been hankering for a move all window, probably hasn't given his all in training in that time. Give him a week to prove his commitment at least. How exaclty could he have played worse than those that did ? Moulinex is available again now........
eesti matty Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I think Lowe has always wanted to leave a legacy and be seen as a revolutionary thinker. He is just useless, out of his depth and someone who is incompetent at running a football club and understanding the fans. He never seems to learn from his mistake and I am fearful for our club's future with him at the helm.
Colinjb Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 How exaclty could he have played worse than those that did ? Moulinex is available again now........ Don't get me wrong, he is better then we have, but what example would it show to immediately pick an undetermined player?
Hopkins Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Euell is turd. That is probably the main reason he is not starting. Whoever (Lowe, Wotte) has decided not to start him gets my admiration.
NickG Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 FFS he must have been there tonight? No? couldn't be sure but didn't see Lowe, Wilde or Cowen
saint_stevo Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 he is a smaller turd than some of our other midfielders!
alpine_saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Don't get me wrong, he is better then we have, but what example would it show to immediately pick an undetermined player? Wotte has picked 3 or 4 in each of his first 3 games. I dont give a shiit anymore about all this "who turns it on in training" crap. We need to play our 11 best players each game and the f**king manager should earn his crust motivating them.
trousers Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 couldn't be sure but didn't see Lowe, Wilde or Cowen SFC in a nutshell

smithy Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Euell is turd. That is probably the main reason he is not starting. Whoever (Lowe, Wotte) has decided not to start him gets my admiration. Holloway was praising Euell every time they went to the Saints game this evening and said he can't understand why he didn't start the game.
charliemiller Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 couldn't be sure but didn't see Lowe, Wilde or Cowen ermmm they were in the same room somehwere and had been all afternoon . Doesnt bode well IMHO
alpine_saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Who else do you feel is equal to stating his transfer wishes in the press in the current squad? Euell and BWP must be pretty fecked off too.
Delmary Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 ermmm they were in the same room somehwere and had been all afternoon . Doesnt bode well IMHO?????
Mole Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I wouldn't be at all surprised if Lowe realises the club is going into admin and he's doing his best to **** things up for the fans he despises.

Think your theory is probably bit off mate -the damage caused by him is the set up, players available not him picking the team.
Colinjb Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Euell and BWP must be pretty fecked off too. I don't recall either of them actively saying they wanted out during the transfer window though. Imagining they are f*cked off is one thing, having printed proof quite another.
bridge too far Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 ermmm they were in the same room somehwere and had been all afternoon . Doesnt bode well IMHO Dubai Phil dropped a similar hint earlier. Is this a fact?

As usual with Lowe it is all down to ego, politics and self-justification. It's a huge jump from "getting the impression" to accepting you are right then condemning him for sticking his nose in. However, if by "get the impression" you mean that people inside the club are telling you that's what is happening, then it's a different thing. I agree with you that the footballing side of things should be down to those who know about football. I certainly wouldn't want to condemn Wotte for telling Lowe how to run the club financially.

The bottom line for me is that we have not put our strongest team out all season.
Colinjb Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Who cares mate ? Its a pointless argument. The bottom line for me is that we have not put our strongest team out all season. Fair play (I do care about that point though, I coach myself, even if it is at u15 level, and no way in hell would I immediately reinstate a player who just 48 hours ago wanted shot of us.) With the inconsistency of the squad we have though who is to say who our strongest team is?
saintstr1 Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I watched the Sky sports commentary on the game tonight given by Ian Holloway, now before you all jump on me and tell me what a c~~k Holloway is it was interesting listening to the views of a experienced championship manager. Firstly he thought we were starting with to many youngster when we had the likes of Euell & BWP on the bench. Secondly he could not believe how when Sheff U went down to 10 men we still carried on playing the same way, his take was that nobody on the saints side was making the team slow down and think about building our attacks , everything was just to gung ho and that didn't appear to be a alternative directions from the bench. He also thought we were a bit unlucky although our finishing could have been better. As I said he was never my favourite manager but oh how we need someone like him instead of this Dutch Cr@p.

This Dutch craap is a one-trick pony, it seems. It assumes having dominant players that can implement a single system for the course of the game and making the dominant skills pay off. A totally ridiculous concept to transplant to a broke team at the bottom of the CCC.
NickG Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Who cares mate ? Its a pointless argument. The bottom line for me is that we have not put our strongest team out all season. who would it be for you (not including Rasiak/John/Dyer)
Colinjb Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 lord duckhunter was there tonight So he had chance to see another failure of his methods. Let the c*nt see the positives in that.
NickG Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 you see him? I normally do from my seat but didn't see him tonight -can't say looked much

Mole Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I bet Lowe plays the Stevenage reject at Watford.
SaintRobbie Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 lord duckhunter was there tonight Anyone know his home address in the Cotswolds so I can send his wife a letter congratulating her on her commonsense suggestion that he didnt take the job on again last summer?
Wade Garrett Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I could live (just about) with Lowe running this club as long as he kept his nose out of football matters but I cannot stand him dictating who should be eligible for selection and who shouldn't be. As usual with Lowe it is all down to ego, politics and self-justification. It's gone way too far for me Duncan. I hate the thought of that man having any role whatsoever in the club. We have no chance of things getting any better whilst he is still at the helm. It's up to the circling vultures (if there are any, wishful thinking), to make their move now.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 3 February, 2009 Author Posted 3 February, 2009 And extra Start money. Sorry Andy?
Colinjb Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Anyone know his home address in the Cotswolds so I can send his wife a letter congratulating her on her commonsense suggestion that he didnt take the job on again last summer? Wade Garrett Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I think the last vulture got shot a long time ago, mind you Fulthorpe's dog is still on the hunt. I think Fulthorpe's dog has the hunting instincts of a gerbil.
SaintRobbie Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I think we need to get off our arses and find a buyer. If they're not coming to us... lets go to them.
Raging Bull Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 you see him? I normally do from my seat but didn't see him tonight -can't say looked much yeah i sit directly below his royal backside, his face was a picture when SU scored their second (mind you so did everybodies).
St Landrew Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Sorry Andy? I suspect there's start money in the contract of the more expensive players. If you don't play them for 90 minutes you save money, and all they get is an absolute basic.
Kadeem Hardison Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I'm confused. Either he is controlling everything right down to team selection or he's never at the club and doesn't do his job. Which is it?
Mole Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I'm confused. Either he is controlling everything right down to team selection or he's never at the club and doesn't do his job. Which is it? Hitler mobilised the Hitler Youth to defend Berlin from his bunker. I would imagine Lowe has a mobile phone and a fax machine at his alpine hideaway.
SaintRobbie Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 He has been hankering for a move all window, probably hasn't given his all in training in that time. Give him a week to prove his commitment at least. Colin - I am sure he's professional enough to play... especially when we're in the ****. I hope we see him again soon. In fact I hope we see ALL of our men again soon.
