Fan The Flames Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Weirdly enough, that is exactly the argument Lowe has used for breaking out of the cabal of the same old same old. And he was right to think outside the usual suspects, just didn't execute it very well.
Arizona Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 And by the way, NOBODY was excited when Pearson achieved 2 points from 3 games. It wasn't until we got a couple of wins, became hard to beat and avoided relegation that people really began to like him. Wotte has yet to achieve any of these things. Add to that Pearson always seemed to pick a team based on merit and players in form. The likes of Surman and BWP were dropped after a few poor showings and players who had been frozen out by Burley, such as Licka, came in a put in some good performances. Wotte is so far sticking religiously to a strategy which isn't working and refuses to drop players like DMG, who it seems would still get a game if he picked the ball up and shoved it up his rectum everytime someone passed to him.
buctootim Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 And he was right to think outside the usual suspects, just didn't execute it very well. Agree. Always a gamble trying out the untested though. Get it right and you're a hero, get it wrong and.... well we know the rest.
spain saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Agree. Always a gamble trying out the untested though. Get it right and you're a hero, get it wrong and.... well we know the rest. Getting it wrong once is a mistake, getting it wrong continuously is a sign of complete hopelessness!

Plus i doubt coming out saying the fans are easy to judge etc. will win you many fans. Pearson was a no nonsense guy, someone who could probably inspire a wheely bin to put in a great defensive display if called upon. He told it like it was and you believed in what he was saying. As much as i want to believe in Wotte everytime he speaks i just think "hmm he sounds a bit like Rupert, i can imagine Rupert saying that". But as with all managers your judged on results not what you say. he has 2 points from 9 so that isn't the best of starts, but getting 3 on saturday will be a massive result. I really do think saturday will be make or break for most people with Wotte. People hated Dodd and Gorman but they got 1 win, 1 draw and a loss from their first 3 games, they then went on to lose the next 4. If that happens again i wonder if Lowe would change it? Somehow i doubt it.
Loyal Saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 maybe...but I could not give a flying if he said we were all spastics.. All i care about is what he does on the pitch All you need to know then TDD was that tonight was probably the worst all round performance of the season and that takes some doing. In fairness the situation and the squad we've assembled is not all his fault but he's had the chance to have plenty of influence on it. Sadly, he's yet again the wrong appointment
