saints_is_the_south Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 So what do we reckon the team is gunna be? I'd go Davis James - Perry - Size - Surman Lallana - Wotton - Schneirderlin - Skacel Mcgoldrick - Saga If Skacel isn't fit or won't play then i guess it will have to be Mills at left back & Surman at left mid unless Mclaggon can go on the left, haven't really paid much attention to where he actually plays as he seems to just run around anywhere! Really need a win tonight, Doncaster aren't playing due to their FA Cup game so if we lose tonight then they have 3 points advantage on us plus 2 games in hand which with 2 wins would then put them 9 points above us. Other games tonight involving relegation rivals are: Bristol City V Charlton Preston V Plymouth Wolves V Norwich
Thedelldays Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 i see plymouth are sliding down the table quite quickly now.. always said they are crap and luggy was/is crap
Arizona Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I am 99% sure that Skacel wont play and 99% sure that if he does, he will be at LB with Surman at LM. As it happens I think we will line up with: - - - - - - Davis James - Perry - Size - Surman - - - - - - Wotton - - - - - - - - - Lallana - Gillett - Gobern - - - - - - - DMG - - - Saga - - - - Not entirely sure about Gillett and Gobern. It could really be any 2 from Gillett, Gobern, Smith, Morgan or Surman, if Fish plays LB. If it were me I'd go with - - - - - - - Davis - - - - - - - James - - Perry - - Size - - Mills Lallana - Wotton - Gillett - Surman - - - - - - - - - - Skacel - - - - - - - - - - Saga - - - - - - - - - - -
maxi_sopez Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Is rupert going to be there, if so is a protest planned ?
70's Mike Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 have no idea about team Wotte will pick but will be amazed if Skacel is included
Saint_clark Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Hopefully: ---------Davis James Size Perry Skacel Euell Wotton Gillet Surman ------Saga McGoldrick
georgeismyname Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I think team will be: ---------------------------Davis------------------------------- James--------------Perry---------Saeijs-----------------Surman Lallana-------------Gillett--------Wotton-------------------Euell -------------------Saganowski----McGoldrick------------------- Subs: Bialkowski, Lancashire, McLaggon, Paterson, Schneiderlin, Wright-Phillips I would go with: -------------------------Davis----------------------------- James-------------Perry--------Saeijs---------------Surman McLaggon--------Schneiderlin----------Wotton--------Skacel -----------------Saganowski------Wright-Phillips------------ Subs: Bialkowski, Euell, Gillett, McGoldrick, Paterson, Did anyone else notice Anthony Pulis involved in the warm-ups on Saturday or am I just making it up?
Andy_Porter Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 ---------Davis James Size Perry Surman ------- Wotton -- Gillett ------ Euell -------- Lallana ------ Saga McG
Psycrow Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Top work to the ground staff for getting the place playable tonight
Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I would field my strongest team at home and go for the win from the start...as follows... ---------Davis James Size Perry Skacel ------- Wotton McClaggon - Sneiderlin - Surman ----- Saga -- Euell Subs: Bialkowski, Lallana, McG, Gillett, Lipstick This team would do the business IMO, but of course Wotte still does not seem to know who his best team is.
Window Cleaner Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 So what do we reckon the team is gunna be? I'd go Davis James - Perry - Size - Surman Lallana - Wotton - Schneirderlin - Skacel Mcgoldrick - Saga I expect he'll play Gillett again, much to my own personal chagrin, but perhaps the end justifies the means on this one occasion.
ozzmeister Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 ...............Davis James...Perry...Size...Surman ........Wooton...Gillet Euell.......................Lallanda ..........Saga...McGoal Subs: Bart, New defender, Spider, BWP, McLaggon
s0108787 Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 -------Davis James Seijs Perry Surman ------Wotton Gillett--------Euell ----Schneiderlin Saganowski McGoldrick Based on the performances i saw on Saturday, without doubt it should be this line up.
Saint Matty 76 Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 -------Davis James Seijs Perry Surman ------Wotton Gillett--------Euell ----Schneiderlin Saganowski McGoldrick Based on the performances i saw on Saturday, without doubt it should be this line up. I'd agree if you put Schneiderlin the defensive midfielder not in attacking midfield, and also if you went Saturday like I also did, surely McGoldrick wouldn't be in the starting 11, but as we all know he will.
70's Mike Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 one good thing about small attendances is that i do not have to leave home until about 7pm
dubai_phil Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 --------Davis James Seijis Perry Skacel -------Wotton Gillet--------------Surman -------Euell ----Saga DMG Bench Forecast BWP Spiderman McLaggon then Mills or Lancashiire
thorpie the sinner Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 --------Davis James Seijis Perry Skacel -------Wotton Gillet--------------Surman -------Euell ----Saga DMG Bench Forecast BWP Spiderman McLaggon then Mills or Lancashiire I thought Rudi was still hawking it around europe looking for a club!! last I heard, he was in Greenland!!!
dubai_phil Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 (edited) I thought Rudi was still hawking it around europe looking for a club!! last I heard, he was in Greenland!!! Last I heard Greenland was Boyatt Wood?!! Oh alright then Surman at left back Mclaggon on the wing and Lallana on the bench instead of Mcl, A lot of it depends on Wotte's comments will he field the first half team against Swansea or the 2nd half + one? Edited 3 February, 2009 by dubai_phil

Think you'll find he will start with the 10 that finsihed on Saturday, plus one to replace Molyneux. I hope Skacel, but suspect Mills or Surman. I think Wotte is reasonably clear now who his best team is, even if he didn't know at the start of the last 2 games.
Um Bongo Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 (edited) one good thing about small attendances is that i do not have to leave home until about 7pm Same here! Drive through Lowford, over the itchen brigde. Takes 20 mins, and normally have time spare. Couldn't do that a few years ago! -----------Davis--------------- James - Size - Perry --- Surman ----------Wotton-------------- Gillet-----Schniderlin----Euell--- McGoldrick------------Saga---- Edited 3 February, 2009 by Um Bongo

Iowsaintsfan Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 It will be cold. people wearing red and white will be seen!
s0108787 Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I'd agree if you put Schneiderlin the defensive midfielder not in attacking midfield, and also if you went Saturday like I also did, surely McGoldrick wouldn't be in the starting 11, but as we all know he will. i hear what you're saying and i would consider BWP up front with Saga, but i think McG will benefit a lot from playing with Saga and could well come good. I also think that Schneiderlin would be best off further forward and given the ball by others as he is not a ball winner, i think he could have the attributes of a decent playmaker with an eye for a defence splitting pass. This combined with Lallana's "no show" on saturday is why Schneiderlin would get the nod from me in the AMC role. I would like us to persevere with the 4-1-2-1-2 formation we adopted on Saturday, essentially i's a narrow 4-4-2 diamond and i did like what i saw for the most part.
Thedelldays Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Davis, James, Perry, Saeijs, Surman, Wotton, Gillett, Lallana, McLaggon, McGoldrick, Saganowski. Subs: Forecast, Lancashire, Schneiderlin, Euell, Wright-Phillips.

Bromley Saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Southampton: Davis, James, Perry, Saeijs, Surman, Wotton, Gillett, Lallana, McLaggon, McGoldrick, Saganowski. Subs: Forecast, Lancashire, Schneiderlin, Euell, Wright-Phillips. Referee: Mr. L. Probert (changed due to snow) Maybe he's changed into long johns instead of shorts?
Plumstead_Saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Not sure about Lallana starting and Euell on the bench again Otherwise ok.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 anyone else getting commentary via Saints TV? It seems to me like the left channel is a LOT louder than the right. Same problem on Saturday - anyone else notice?
SaintRobbie Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Right. Come on Wotte you ****ing Lowe-dite puppet. Screw this up and I swear I will campaign harder for your sacking. As for the team... COME ON YOU REDS!!! FIGHT BOYS FIGHT!
Thedelldays Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Right. Come on Wotte you ****ing Lowe-dite puppet. Screw this up and I swear I will campaign harder for your sacking. As for the team... Jesus Reigned Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Oh **** it, I forgot Darius Henderson plays for Utd; he only ever seems to score against us. Wow; I typed f c u k and the filter still got to it!
Leicestersaint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 We'll win this one and begin the big climb up the table.
VectisSaint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 anyone else getting commentary via Saints TV? It seems to me like the left channel is a LOT louder than the right. Same problem on Saturday - anyone else notice? Try moving the left speaker further away, or the right speaker nearer. Alternatively you could fiddle with your balance control
Saint_clark Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Who was the commentator for the Swansea game? He kept pronouncing Gillett as "Zeemon Geelay" apparently.

I bet you said the same after pearsons third game... lol Pearson inherited a team that was midtable. Oh Dear. I was not a big fan of Pearson's appointment, but I was of his retention.
