St Marco Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 (edited) Counting loans and full transfers Cork Forecast Peckhart Wotten Gasmi Pullis Holmes Smith Saeijs Liptak Molyneux Schneiderlin Perry Pearce Robertson 15 players? Edited 3 February, 2009 by St Marco
OldNick Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 How many have left? Quite a few went in the summer and early season so I expect there is a balance. The wage bill would have definately been slashd, although the return of Saga and Rudi staying may change that a little.the ones in will have contracts that are not full of add on I suspect, not that i have any info on that.

GB signed a lot of them and he was bridged between RL and the Wilde bunch and LC. Luketti Wright left of course, there are bound to be others we have forgotten.

I'm not really looking to have a go at Lowe, clubs need players so it obviously means we will get players in. What interests me is that the amount of players we have brought in this season is possibly the most we have ever brought into the club in just one season? Maybe that is another factor for why we are doing so poor that the team changes so much that nobody gets time to get used to each other?
derry Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Counting loans and full transfers Cork Forecast Peckhart Wotten Gasmi Pullis Holmes Smith Saeijs Liptak Molyneux Schneiderlin Perry 13 players? 14 Alex Pearce
Window Cleaner Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 14 Alex Pearce And I would wager that all those players lumped together were less of a drain on the wage bill than Claus and Idiakiez. Not to mention Powell,Wright,Ostlund,Davies,Safri,Licka,Hammill and all the others. Who in their collective brilliance enabled us to avoid relegation on the last day of the season.
um pahars Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Counting loans and full transfers Cork Forecast Peckhart Wotten Gasmi Pullis Holmes Smith Saeijs Liptak Molyneux Schneiderlin Perry 13 players? You forgot Pearce I thought I got to 12 before this window, and then we have added Saeijs, Molyneux and Liptak, so who is the missing player???? I would have to agree that such an influx of players may have been behind some of our problems on the pitch (and it certainly couldn't have helped our financial position). Whilst we certainly had to replace some players who had left, I do think a much more targeted and refined approach may have served us better.
Andy_Porter Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Jordan Robertson as well, how could you forget him?!
St Marco Posted 3 February, 2009 Author Posted 3 February, 2009 15 players in just 6 months or so is a bit ott isn't it?

Including Saganowski who is now back 15 left in the summer. I posted the list on previous threads weeks ago.
Andy_Porter Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 How many have been good signings? Good: Saeijis, Cork, Holmes, Pearce and Perry Jury's out: Schneiderlin, Wotton, Liptak, Pulis, Forecast. Crap: Molyneux, Gasmi, Smith, Robertson, Pekhart
OldNick Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Including Saganowski who is now back 15 left in the summer. I posted the list on previous threads weeks ago. Thanks
saintwarwick Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 15 players in just 6 months or so is a bit ott isn't it? 15 to replace 15? Not ott just striking a balance albeit cheaply but we are hard up so no surprise really.
Alanh Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 It's going to be like this every year in the CCC. Just about every club has a fair proportion of half or season long loans which adds to the player turnover, then you've got many more players being transferred to bigger clubs because they are good enough to attract offers. If you look at the lists above we have lost and gained about the same number of players so the fact that so many arrived is explainable. The bigger issue is whether enough of them have been good enough. For me the only new arrivals that have definitely improved on those who have left are Cork, Seijs and Schneiderlin who are better than Wright, Lundekvam or Lucketti, and Idiakez respectively.
Doctoroncall Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I'm not really looking to have a go at Lowe, clubs need players so it obviously means we will get players in. Maybe that is another factor for why we are doing so poor that the team changes so much that nobody gets time to get used to each other? When Reading got promoted the first time, they used 15 players in their starting line up in the whole season. There is a trend the more players used for the starting line ups during the season the lower down the league table they are.
St Marco Posted 3 February, 2009 Author Posted 3 February, 2009 15 to replace 15? Not ott just striking a balance albeit cheaply but we are hard up so no surprise really. On our page i can only seem to come up with Safri Wright Licka Ostuland II Viafara Davies Powell They are people who left us in the summer. I guess you could include Claus as he retired too. Or that Motomo guy or whatever his name was?
Andy_Porter Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Plus quite a few loans ran out in the summer. Hammill, Vignal, Lucketti, Pericard and Wright.
St Marco Posted 3 February, 2009 Author Posted 3 February, 2009 Plus quite a few loans ran out in the summer. Hammill, Vignal, Lucketti, Pericard and Wright. Can't really include loans for releases as they were never ours. As otherwise when we get to the summer we could be looking at 20+ players going

Pancake Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 This year? Just the 3 defenders as far as Im aware.
Alanh Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Can't really include loans for releases as they were never ours. As otherwise when we get to the summer we could be looking at 20+ players going If you are including loan players in (as you have done in your original list) then you have to also include loan players leaving to get a true comparison. If you are excluding loans then we've only brought in 8 players this season which again is pretty similar to the number who left last summer. We will be looking at a load of players leaving again this summer when the remaining relatively high salary contracts expire, and many of them will be replaced by new players on salaries more attuned to our financial means.

Plus: Dyer John Claus Makin Poke Rasiak Some are on loan but they are still not here at this moment in time. Also Loanees: Hamill Vignal Richard Wright Luketti
sidthesquid Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Don't forget that the following five have all been and gone again as well - Cork Forecast Peckhart Pearce & Robertson
