Saint Dave Posted 13 February, 2009 Share Posted 13 February, 2009 Yes, I understand that he has gone to Preston as he considered that Norwich was too far from Stoke. I saw the aticle on BBC Football page.

Andy_Porter Posted 13 February, 2009 Share Posted 13 February, 2009 Better at Preston than Norwich.
saint1977 Posted 13 February, 2009 Share Posted 13 February, 2009 Norwich have much bigger gates than we do since Lowe returned. That's why we can't afford him but they can. They've also investment from the Turner family to help them through the end of the parachute period. The Turners left in the summer which is why Norwich are struggling a bit as the Cullin takeover saga dragged on without resolution but thanks to that investment last season I'd still happily swap even if Delia is almost as bad at picking managers as Rupert. saint1977 Posted 13 February, 2009 Share Posted 13 February, 2009 Better at Preston than Norwich. Phew! Pleased about that. The East Anglian clubs and North East really seem to lose out on a lot of players for that reason. Also, a close mate of mine is a Carlisle fan and even though they've had a few great seasons, are well run and have a tidy fanbase, all they can recruit is players that have played in the North-West or North-East. um pahars Posted 13 February, 2009 Share Posted 13 February, 2009 Phew! Pleased about that. Agreed. I'd rather have to play against Davies once, than have him turn out for Norwich in their relegation battle.

Her probably won't even play a full game against us, he's always injured anyway.

Micky Posted 14 February, 2009 Share Posted 14 February, 2009 Her probably won't even play a full game against us, he's always injured anyway. Would appear to be fully fit now though - and raring to go against us... CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 14 February, 2009 Share Posted 14 February, 2009 (edited) A fit Andrew Davies / Wayne Thomas / Michael Svensson could have made all the difference between SFC being the near certainties for relegation we are today or us still retaining a decent chance of staying up . We keep repeating the same mistake - it's absolutely crucial you have adequate defensive cover in place and fit to play before the seasons starts . With hindsight or without it's clearly a serious error to just sit back and hope some untested kid on loan from the Premier League or Oliver Lancashire will do , caution dictates that whatever else you do you don't take avoidable risks with the back four and goalkeeper . An additional (relatively inexpensive) JP 'Size' or Chris Lucketti type experienced defender could/should have been signed as soon as AD decided to leave and the gravity of WT's injury became clear . It's a terrible old cliche but still true - you build from the back when putting a team together - somehow we seem to have forgotten this basic footballing truth this season and last . :smt091 Edited 14 February, 2009 by CHAPEL END CHARLIE
