Dowie was at The De Vere on saturday 24th [evening]. [ My best mate has an impeccable

source- no idea who]. When Dave Jones was appointed all those years ago, my mate told

me 3 days before he was appointed[ same source for Dowie info], and no one in the press

anywhere ever got held of the Dave Jones info.

Probably no reaction whatsoever.

I found it incredible when it was revealed recently that JP and Wotte weren't acquainted before this season.

The fact that they didn't get on at all came as a bit of a shock too, so if I'm reading things rightly we started a revolutionary coaching system with 2 Dutchmen who had never met and didn't like each other, coupled with a coach who wanted out at the first opportunity.

Staggering, simply staggering.

To quote your good self Steve, "You couldn't make it up"

You're not wrong there Rich!!!!!!!

The way this partnership (if not quadruship) was portrayed was that it would be a "Revolutionary Coaching Set Up" with everyone getting stuck in, roles flexible and everyone involved in the decision making process.

As it turns out Hockaday gets fcked off (still no news from the Club, they're great at communicating aren't they?) and it turns out Wotte can't distance himself quickly enough from Jan, who has been conveniently hung out to dry, with Wotte absolving himself from everything that has gone on last season.

The only thing I'm not sure about is that Poortvliet wanted out at the first opportunity, because IMHO he was kicked out and the resiging bit was about face saving (on both sides).

In fact yesterdays programme notes by Wilde were rather contradictory with this regard, as first of all said Poortvliet had resigned, and then it went on to say something like "the board decided we had to make a change" (I'm sure someone with a programme can put up the actual text).

What makes it worse is all the fcking rubbish and bullsht spouted on the OS and just as bad in The Echo.

You really couldn't make it up.:smt022

Nothing much in the Dutch media. There was some reports about Poortvliet being ****ed off at Wotte about the fact that Wotte broke Dutch Manager Association rules but other then that nothing much. In short, no one really cares.

OK cheers for that.

I know Wotte was given a hard time by Feyenoord fans, but also noticed that a few others were critical of him regarding a number of relegations at various clubs. Is there any susbstance in those claims???

Also noticed he was at Den Bosch just prior to Poortvliet and his stint there ended in relegation and administration. I know he came in half way through the season, so how was that viewed?? Were they too far gone by then??

"our, performances this season, especially at home, have not met the high standards that we set ourselves at the beginning of the campaign, and it was therefore deemed necessary to make a change"

"JP'S contribution to the Club and his dedication and hard work have been very much appreciated, but by his own admission, results were unfortunately not going the right way and a change was needed. That decision has now been made and it is up to us all to unite behind our new-look management team"

Is that from the programme?? If so, I thought there was another line on there that intimates that the board took the decision and not Poortvliet.

On the phone in after the game the subject of Rupert Lowe came up (doesn't it always) and Armstrong said "lets just wait and see if he's still here in a week or two's time" - or words to that effect anyway .

Made of that what you will .

Anything is possible. Can't see Andrew Cowan here? Can anyone confirm whether he was at yesterday's game. His and Lowe's absence would be quite significant on a matchday? Wishful thinking????
