Mr X Posted 31 January, 2009 Posted 31 January, 2009 A) Nothing B) Positive Media coverage C) Put us on the path to change D) Made the board in no doubt about what the majority of supporters think of them Do you expect anything to change in the next couple of weeks?
1976_Child Posted 31 January, 2009 Posted 31 January, 2009 Media coverage. Doubt that Lowe will be much bothered though. Still, from small acorns...
kelkel31 Posted 31 January, 2009 Posted 31 January, 2009 c it wont make an imediate change, but it is a start and will continue as long as it needs to, we are now organised, and beginning to become united!
Snowballs2 Posted 31 January, 2009 Posted 31 January, 2009 B & C for me. It is like an avalanche slow to start but gets bigger as it gathers pace
JustMike Posted 31 January, 2009 Posted 31 January, 2009 lowe wasnt even there according to skysports, still on his hols...
Mr X Posted 31 January, 2009 Author Posted 31 January, 2009 Anyone know if wilde was there? my guess is he was advised not to attend by the police
Mole Posted 31 January, 2009 Posted 31 January, 2009 It's set the agenda, we now just need to keep it up.
Mr X Posted 31 January, 2009 Author Posted 31 January, 2009 It's set the agenda, we now just need to keep it up. a Protest march at every home game it is then
Mole Posted 31 January, 2009 Posted 31 January, 2009 a Protest march at every home game it is then or maybe a demo.
Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 31 January, 2009 Posted 31 January, 2009 Hate to say it but with average gates of around 15000 saints fans (not including away support), the turn out for the march would be at best 10%. As much as I hate to say it, I can hear the words 'Lunatic Fringe' being shouted all the way from a nice sunny holiday vacation spot somewhere. Do we think 10% will be enough to persuade Lowe et al to 'duck off'? I certainly hope so, but doubt it will be. The only saving grace is our finances. In a twist of fate, our lack of money could be a benefit as the banks could force Lowe et al to step aside in return for continued support. However, they will still be there lurking in the background. Just not the face of the board. The only hope I have is that in being forced to step aside, they realise there is no way for a possible third return and decide to call it a day.
Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 31 January, 2009 Posted 31 January, 2009 I think a boycott would be better. Someone mentioned on another thread, doing the march in reverse. From reception to a pub, getting to the pub for 3pm. That would be a good idea. Get a place capable of holding over 1000 fans, maybe oceana to broadcast the radio commentry. Or wait until the next game which is on sky and watch it in the pub instead?!

sun of spain Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 B,C,D from the coverage ITV have given, which will have done us no harm at all. We need to keep up the pressure now,and perhaps our dream of getting our club back might become a reality.
Gingeletiss Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 C for me.....they already know D to be true.
St. Jason Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 A) Nothing B) Positive Media coverage C) Put us on the path to change D) Made the board in no doubt about what the majority of supporters think of them Do you expect anything to change in the next couple of weeks? B. if nothing else at least the entire uk know our plight, can only be a good thing, imo!
Viking Warrior Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 Its good to see those who were involved in the match were well behaved Im not sure it will have any impact on the club. it will just allow a few well known saints personalities to have a few seconds of fame. I thought Perry Mcmillan could have had a shave for his cameo appearence on ITV. I had to laugh at the young girl with the lowe out placard when the reporter was summarising at the end, I think she came into the shot to soon disappeared for a couple of seconds only to return on que. the reporter looked somewhat perplexed
sadoldgit Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 B. if nothing else at least the entire uk know our plight, can only be a good thing, imo! As if anyone ouside the M27 corridor gives a stuff mate. No thats not true, the other clubs in the relegation battle are probably lapping it up!
St. Jason Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 As if anyone ouside the M27 corridor gives a stuff mate. No thats not true, the other clubs in the relegation battle are probably lapping it up! Lapping what up??? The fans are not brining the protests into the ground, the support has been great inside the stadium.
um pahars Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 As if anyone ouside the M27 corridor gives a stuff mate. No thats not true, the other clubs in the relegation battle are probably lapping it up! I think the other clubs are lapping up the fact we appointed a Dutch no hoper, sacked him after he dropped us in the relegation places, and then employed his sidekick who six months previously was only deemed suitable as reserve team coach and who is as actually as complicit in our recent failings as the no hoper we sacked!!!!!! I think the "Revolutionary Coaching Set Up" may have slightly more impact than a protest march:rolleyes::rolleyes: Besides, I would say the passion in the protest transferred itself to support for the team yesterday.
eelpie Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 Anyone know if wilde was there? my guess is he was advised not to attend by the police I doubt if we will se him at the ground this season. Or Wilde.
eelpie Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 Besides, I would say the passion in the protest transferred itself to support for the team yesterday. I believe you were right.
eurosaint Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 The ITV coverage this morning certainly gave a wider audience to the protest and there is no doubt that Rupsey and his cohorts will be well aware of the consequences of further action in the future. Should we continue to underperform at home then I am sure that things will escalate and an ongoing Branfoot type of situation will unfold !!!
sadoldgit Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 It will not achieve anything other than make people feel better. As said before, change at the top will only be achieved if someone with a lot of spare dosh turns up and buys the club. All the demonstrations in the world can't deliver three points. which is what we are desparate for right now.
Gingeletiss Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 As if anyone ouside the M27 corridor gives a stuff mate. No thats not true, the other clubs in the relegation battle are probably lapping it up! I guess that sums you up then, as you live well outside or boundrys.
sadoldgit Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 I guess that sums you up then, as you live well outside or boundrys. Yep, as do other supporters of SFC. I supose in your book that negates any opinion that I have?
Gingeletiss Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 Yep, as do other supporters of SFC. I supose in your book that negates any opinion that I have? Read your post pal.............now read it again. Right, now read mine.......good boy, your getting there, now where in my post did I include 'anyone' outside the M27...............my post was in responce to yours, and yours alone.
alpine_saint Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 Yep, as do other supporters of SFC. I supose in your book that negates any opinion that I have? Oh, the irony..........

You're wasting your time with, as I actually think he's American and irony is obviously lost on him;)
sadoldgit Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 Many years ago I used to work for Times Newspapers (pre Murdoch). The then management decided to take on the unions and closed the paper down for 11 months. We went on a march and had our pictures all over the media, which was nice. The paper eventually reopened and was sold to Murdoch. The move to Wapping followed and the unions wiped out. You can go an all the marches you want but it is the men with the money who call the shots.

Blimey Ginge, have you been taking patronising lessons from Steve Godwin? You really are very good.
Gingeletiss Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 I taught him.....I'd teach you as well, but you live outside the M27!!!!
Andoverian Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 (edited) B,C,D from the coverage ITV have given, which will have done us no harm at all. We need to keep up the pressure now,and perhaps our dream of getting our club back might become a reality. Absolutely right. It is all about keeping up the pressure and making life as uncomfortable as possible for Lowe and Wilde. However we want to make it clear that we totally support the team at all times win lose or draw. It's Lowe and Wilde that we have a problem with. The more that they see the fans in the media and in the City criticising their appalling regime the better. At the end of the day we want our club back. Good start on Saturday IMO and now we need to keep it up. Edited 1 February, 2009 by Andoverian

On second thoughts he has taken a lot of our money for very little return. :smt054
sadoldgit Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 I taught him.....I'd teach you as well, but you live outside the M27!!!! Ah, then I shall have to move house! What are the prices like down there. Can a humble civel servant find it affordable?

sidthesquid Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 How about option e) actively counter-productive
sadoldgit Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 How about option e) actively counter-productive I think you have a point Sid. At a time when we need to be pulling together this is not ideal. Negativity breeds negativity.
eelpie Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 I think you have a point Sid. At a time when we need to be pulling together this is not ideal. Negativity breeds negativity. But aren't you being negative about the protests?
sadoldgit Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 But aren't you being negative about the protests? LOL good point!!! But really, Lowe isn't going anywhere, no one is going to put any money in (if the likes of Salz were going to do so wouldn't they have done it long ago) so apart from pandering to the Citizen Smith brigade, what is the point? As I said earlier, Norwich, Forest and Doncaster fans must be loving this.
NickG Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 Crouch on The Championship said the only way Lowe will go is if investor comes forward -how does a march achieve this?

ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 Crouch on The Championship said the only way Lowe will go is if investor comes forward -how does a march achieve this? Maybe he said that because it`s the only way now as his plan/offer was turned down by Lowe and Wilde. It would achieve unity in the club, with the fans and get us a proper manager to try to save us from league one,LC is far more likely to bring at least one of these options,as far as staving off relegation the damage may of already been done with the appointment of the dutch disaster but imo we stand better chance with a experienced man at the sharp end.
sadoldgit Posted 1 February, 2009 Posted 1 February, 2009 Crouch on The Championship said the only way Lowe will go is if investor comes forward -how does a march achieve this? Perhaps they should all march to the City and find these ellusive investors that Lowe, Wilde and Crouch have all somehow failed to find???
