This thread is great - so many fails all over the place on here from misunderstanding logic gates (there is no absolute on X, it's not Grindr, so not liking a post doesn't mean you dislike it, it can mean you are ambivalent to it, you may not even be able to read it in it's native language), to a like conversion rate of less than 1% being considered anything but abysmal.

It really shows what the human mind is capable of 🙄

In all seriousness, everyone involved should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

In all seriousness, some people shouldn't take some threads too seriously.

Although I do like your comments on logic gates - it's only me that's mentioned them and you have me on ignore, or did you forget that?

Writing 15k+ posts doesn't in any way mean I read 100s as you claim.

Plenty of posters on here post without reading what others write.

Another MLG fail.

Read the third sentence in the posted you quoted.

Read the second sentence of the post you quoted.

Quod, erat, demonstrandum.

Epic fail on your part here!

The sentence I mentioned voids that!

In your 15k+ posts you have quoted many hundreds of other people. Why are you quoting them if you haven't read what they said?

Err. You're involved. Or are you referring to the few people who liked MLG's tweet?

Am I? I commented on the thread being ridiculous, but wouldn't call that being involved, just commentating.

Ah, the penny finally drops.

Well done Matthew, it's been a struggle but you got there in the end.

So you read posts, quote them, comment about those quotes without actually reading them?

354 isn't a 'few people'

Oh dear with 41.3k views now that means your “liked” percentage is dropping like a stone you are hovering just over 0.75% now, bad times

also I noticed you have 46 comments meaning an even tinier percentage bothered to articulate a response to your post and many of these did not support it

A sample of the replies were

“let it fucking go”

”tragic”

”he’s gone move on”

Which makes your mantra of just because people didn’t respond doesn’t mean they don’t like it

A disaster of a tweet

Yet again, nonsense.

Yet another Turkish strawman fallacy!

At no point did I say more people agreed with it than didn't. The Tweet even opens with saying it will divide the fanbase! I was fully aware some wouldn't want him back, so you decide to ignore the caveat.

I note you only list quotes of three that disagree and make no mention of the many that do. How convenient!

That quote you just used does not hold any water. The comment section does no such thing. Sure a handful are against it in the comments, I did not claim overtime. You leave out all those in favour in the comments.

Of course it holds water, it’s real evidence people disagree with you. Far more compelling evidence than you trying to convince people that even though less than 1% showed support for you post, plenty other might have they just didn’t show it 😂😂😂😂

At no point did I say people did not disagree with it. You picked three coments against it. No mention of those in favour.

You have no idea what the other 99% think. Nor do I. Try harder Turkish! Slacking!

You make this far too easy!

People might appreciate or agree with a post but choose not to engage for various reasons: they’re scrolling quickly, they’re being cautious about how their activity appears to others (especially with controversial topics), or they simply don’t use the “like” feature much. Liking something and hitting the like button are not the same thing — one is a private feeling, the other is a public action.

Not hitting the like button on a tweet is like laughing at a joke at home but not clapping at the comedy club — it doesn't mean you didn't enjoy it, just that your hands stayed in your lap.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

liking a tweet from someone saying they want a certain football manager at their football club is far too controversial to reveal in the public domain

this is brilliant 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Still making this too easy! Try harder!

Turkish can't grasp context... again!

I was talking in general regarding reasons why people don't hit the heart button on Tweets. The controversial comment was not about this tweet per se.

That is why I said "with a post" and not "with this post". Because it was talking in general and was one of a few reasons. There is a key difference between the two that you missed!

Plus... interesting you ignored the analogy at the end!

So you agree then that in the context you mention responding to a post about a football manager isn’t controversial or a strong reason to keep those opinions away from the public domain. So we can also agree this is not a reason as to why only slightly over 0.75% of the people who saw it responded.

Now you’re getting it MLG 👍👏👏
