She’s a bit of a 9 Pinter, so at least she won’t distract the players.

Let’s see how she gets on before jumping on her (metaphorically of course).

And the former Chelsea doctor...

Its a female sounding name but then so was Marians.

The name Marion didn't hold John Wayne's career back.

Welcome aboard Mariela... can't do any worse than we've done in the past couple of years. And if you listen to one of the interviews Stuart Webber , former Norwich DoF , credits her with finding Buendia for them.

Thinking it through, it does seem  a bit of a sideways or even step back for her, going from what I read as part of the senior recruitment at Norwich to focus on the 16-19 year age bracket with us.

Pluses would be working in a multi club model (she doesn't know yet that it's a cardboard model faking a proper multi club model run by grown ups).

That's a stepping stone, of course at some far distant point, should she want to work with other multi club groups.

SR, like many, are super keen to maximise the profit of unearthing top, young talent. Lavia, Tino, Tyler, Fernandes etc, etc. It's a key part of their strategy. So, she will be a very important part of the set up. Although hopefully our scouting also looks at other markets too.

It's not a massive step, but a bit.

Quite frankly if she is any good she wouldn't be coming here, being a woman makes no difference at all, if her talents match Southampton's current standing that should tell you all you need to know.

So it is impossible to see any player or staff with potential see us an improvement or have talent or potential? Really?

If you were any good would you come here? I know that is incredibly simplistic but if you were good at your job, why would you come here? Wouldn't you value yourself higher?

A team relegated being one of the worst if not the worst team to play in the highest league in the Country, why would you do it? The owners have no interest beyond self interest in the day to day running's so I can't see why anyone good would bother to come here with our current lot.

Our methods of buying and selling is a busted flush, that has been tried and we've failed, without money we can't remain where we are let alone progress.

1) Because you see it as a progression from where you currently are!

2) That is nonsense. The owner recently became club chairman and is more involved now than he was before and also appointed someone new to oversee football decisions.

3) Again, nonsense. Over the last two Premier League seasons we've spent £260m+ on transfers/loan fees. That is not 'without money'. The owner has put a lot of cash into the club. The issue is not money, it is how that money has been spent. So far it has largely been spent poorly, but lets give the new sporting director a chance and not blaming him for the mistakes of others!

1) How is going to a team in the same division progression? We're on a downward trajectory so my point is she were any good she wouldn't be coming here.

2) Because of failure on his part of woeful appointments.

3) That is paltry in today's money especially when you take into account of the wages we pay, look at the players we were in for at the start of the season compared to the players we got, we wanted it on the cheap and we totally deserve to be relegated as a total and utter embarrassment not only to the fans and City but also to the league itself, we gave it no respect at all.

1) That is deeply flawed. You don't think going to a club in the same division can be progression? So leaving Saints and going to Liverpool wasn't progression for van Dijk? Saints have many advantages over Norwich, our first team squad is better and our income will be significantly bigger than theirs next season due to both parachute payments and player sales. It also allows for higher backroom staff wages.

2) He has realised his errors and is no more hands on. Isn't that what you were asking for? Plus he has appointed someone new to oversee football decisions. Again, is that not what you want?

3) £260m+ is not 'paltry', it is a very large amount of money. The issue for Saints is not the amount of money spent, the issue is how poorly we have spent it!
