We cannot start next season with Stephens or Bednarek at the club. So poor at their jobs. Bednarek ran at the passer but then backed off and from there it was easy.

You either run at the ball carrier OR back off, if you do both, you're dead. Easy basic stuff, but for those 2 it's ingrained.

That, and always diving in at the ball, you might get away with it once or twice but it'll lead to many goals against, penalties, and own goals.

Over and over and over again...

Absolutely dreadful “performance” - so fucking dull. No attacking ambition at all. No quality. Misplaced passes all over. Has Ross Stewart done anything in any of the games he’s played? I barely remember him touching the ball. Makes Cameron archer look dynamic and physical.

Nice goal for Villa.

Must be a great feeling...

I’ve heard it’s meant to be great.

The whole match has been just waiting for the inevitable. Villa chance after chance and now it's begun to yield results. We've offered next to nothing.

Ramsdale, Stephens and Fernandes are the only ones to come out of the game with any credit.  The rest are total shite.

All the love for KWP - don't get it.  He's been poor all season.

What an utterly depressing time to be a Saints fan.

Rubbish - Stephens has been excellent this match and cares passinoately about the club.  More than can be said about the others

How Bednarek survived going to Villa, bad mouthing Saints, returning and then scoring one of the worst own goals I've ever seen, will always be such a mystery to me.

Stunning indictment into our football dealings.

Passion is great, but skill would be a better attribute.

The fact that such a consistently crap footballer has been a stalwart in our team for about 8 years is about the most fitting avatar to this period in our history that I can think of.

Add to that two 9-0s and two relegations to his name

Adam Armstrong can’t even get in the West Brom team. Promising times ahead

But MLG said he's amazing in the Champ! Could MLG be wrong?

Great tackle from him there!

Ollie Watkins is the sort of striker at the time Saints should’ve been buying, more established PL club at the time but their owners showed backbone which ours haven’t for a long time. Mayen, a squad player for them but with end product, let’s compare notes with Sulemana’s contribution.

They’ve had proper scouts and recruitment, we’ve had people with no practical top level industry experience. End result is clear.

Rambo saves, but Saints players switch off and they score.

It's us all over. We don't even do the little things well. Basic basic stuff like running in after a penalty just in case it's saved. Jack, looking on like "oh yeah, right, always struggle with that...so much to think about".

I could be wrong but in nearly every game this season subs have made us worse, but the problem is that we have to make subs as we seem to have the unfittest team in the Premier League. Low fitness = low mental fortitude.

So we’ve decided not to cross the halfway line pretty much all game - be surprised if we had 10 touches in their box, plus 5 at the back. Defensive subs…. And we still concede 3 goals. What utter utter bullshit this season is. Sick of all these twats.

I actually think I don’t want to break Derby’s record. These cnuts deserve to be tainted with it. It’s the fans I feel sorry for.
