SNSUN Posted April 7 Posted April 7 3 points finally as we kickstart our push towards Premier League safety. Oh wait... 3
Pamplemousse Posted April 7 Posted April 7 They rested quite a few players on Saturday because of their Champions League tie so expect a weakened team from them again. It'll mean we only lose by one or two rather than five or six. 2 1
Pamplemousse Posted Monday at 19:43 Posted Monday at 19:43 About 1000 tickets left on the ticket website, so bad news for season ticket holders wanting to put their seats on the ticket exchange

Midfield_General Posted Tuesday at 10:20 Posted Tuesday at 10:20 Now we're relegated and nothing matters, if we get any more points this season can we choose to carry them over into next season instead, give ourselves a head start? 1 7

die Mannyschaft Posted Tuesday at 14:53 Posted Tuesday at 14:53 Will be interesting to see if players play actual football rather than trying to score own goals. There is now no need to keep possession and look for the spare man which never existed. Saints 1-0 Villa or Saints 1-4 Villa. The last u games are just exhibition matches for Saints to show off their skills to the crowd and any scouts with £100m in paper bags. 1
LiberalCommunist Posted Tuesday at 16:52 Posted Tuesday at 16:52 I came to terms with our relegation some time ago, but I have not accepted our points total. The weekend was a opportunity to draw a blue line. We may not be good enough, but damn we have got some work to do. Some running. Some chasing, some harassing. Rusk & Lallana get that. Now its the guys picked against Villa. Lets make this difficult just because we give a shit. And we might well lose, then we go to the next one, and the next one, until we leave Derbies atrocious record intact. Nobody should feel this season is over. If you do, then go follow the womans team. 16

Jonnyboy Posted Tuesday at 21:09 Posted Tuesday at 21:09 We have a our statistically best-performing-for-this-season manager back in charge so a score draw is on the cards.

Saint Garrett Posted Wednesday at 13:30 Posted Wednesday at 13:30 Looking forward (even still) to the game and a few beers in the sunshine. This was Rusk's line up at Fulham in December. Wonder how much of it was influenced by Juric at the time. About time we got a performance from Dibling... 3412: Ramsdale; Stephens Bednarek THB; Manning Ugo Aribo KWP; Fernandes; Sulemana Dibling 433: Ramsdale; Manning THB Bednarek KWP; Ugo Aribo Fernandes; Sulemana Onuachu Dibling Stick deep, try and be solid, play on the counter attack. 1
coalman Posted Wednesday at 14:49 Posted Wednesday at 14:49 This is the game where Rusk shows we should've stuck with him. His 1 PpG average dwarfs our other managers. 1
TheAlehouseBrawlers Posted Wednesday at 16:59 Posted Wednesday at 16:59 I can't see it being an Aston 'Thriller' but strangely I'm looking forward to it again now. Each time I've walked out of the ground recently I've been thinking that I'm giving it a miss for a bit but I keep coming back. Feels a bit different this time now relegation is confirmed and with the change at the helm, it's all now about chipping away at worst points tag and building any kind of momentum for next season. Hopefully I still feel the same when I walk out of the stadium at 5pm on Saturday.
Saint_clark Posted Wednesday at 20:53 Posted Wednesday at 20:53 Hopefully villa put out the youth team to save everyone for the 2nd leg of the champions league. 1
Saint Fan CaM Posted Wednesday at 21:02 Posted Wednesday at 21:02 If anyone thinks we’re coming away with anything resembling a point or three, they really need counselling. Villa are streets ahead of our bunch of weak-willed misfits. Musk and Lallana may have been the no brainer appointments to end the season, but they’re not miracle workers and I fear there’s a good number of our team already mentally packing their summer holiday bags. 1-4 if we’re lucky.

Didn't they make 8 changes against Forest last weekend yet still beat them fairly comfortably? I guess a 2-0 loss is better than 5-0...

I think City have spent £20m on legal staff to counter any points deductions. Probably 115 loop holes in the financial rules which clubs use to avoid any points. City if anything will find a way to get points added if anything
BotleySaint Posted Thursday at 11:37 Posted Thursday at 11:37 Watkins hasn't been on form this season. Perfect chance for him to bag a hat-trick or more. 1

saintant Posted Thursday at 16:19 Posted Thursday at 16:19 Was impressed with Rusk at the press conference. His responses were measured and, without being glib, he showed that he cares deeply about this football club, its players and fans. It would be great to see him pick up a few results in the final seven games although he clearly has a massive task on his hands. 3

It's highly improbable even if we still have Leicester & Fulham to play, but would Rusk then be considered for next season? I can't see it, but hey, it's SR in charge so anything is possible.
Toussaint Posted Thursday at 19:26 Posted Thursday at 19:26 7 hours ago, Football Special said: Villa at home, warm sunny day towards the end of the season.... surely the perfect opportunity to recreate this match How the tables have turned. I saw this on a group chat last night. Unai Emery was appointed in November 2022 as Villa manager. Very close to that date Nathan Jones was appointed for Saints. There was only three points between Saints and Villa in the table. Tonight one of those teams is in Champions League quarter final. What a shocking indictment of our ownership. 6

Lighthouse Posted Thursday at 19:58 Author Posted Thursday at 19:58 If I was forced to bet my own money on the last seven games, I’d say we’ll pickup a point at Leicester and that’s it. We don’t have the players to pick up ‘a few results’ and Rusk has never managed above the National League. 2
Galway saint Posted Thursday at 20:27 Posted Thursday at 20:27 Watched the PSG game and Villa clearly struggled against their wingers and if we can play to the same level as PSG did, we will win this. Shame we don't have Edozie to rip them a new one in the same way Doue did.
