How many of this pathetic bunch are up to this basic requirement next year? Allowing for the turnover of incomings and out goings, who is confident this will happen?  If we are not careful we will be closer to Lutons current position than to the top 3.

Most of the squad did battle hard last season, including that all-important game at Wembley and the 26 or whatever it was unbeaten run.

And who can forget the many comeback wins including Huddersfield and Watford.

There does need to be a huge turnover for sure, as if we keep this core together the hangover will drag us further down. There are some players who will never recover from this season. We need to reinvest in quality (Easier said than done with these morons) and build a strong Championship team.

My fear is that we won't go far enough in the summer with the changes and we'll start with a hangover, which will end promotion hopes before the season really ever starts. Could be all about the 2nd season, but then you're into luck territory and bordering on becoming Stoke v2.

Not just Stoke. Plenty of other examples are available.

Oh yeah absolutley, just picking on Stoke as they seem a similar-ish example of being Established in the PL, making an absolute hash of constant managerial appointments (funnily enough the same ones as we tried), and are now teetering on the brink of L1.

If it were possible I would get rid of almost  the lot, but that won't happen. We don't need serial losers next season. Fernandes and Dibling would be exceptions, but can't see them staying. Everyone else has demonstrated they are not good enough for the PL so what is the point keeping them for the long term. Shea Charles will be back and would keep him.

Agree except.. Dibling would be first out the door for me while he’s still got some overhyped value.

Fenandes is too good for the Championship. I wish we could keep hold of him.

Rambo & KWP are off.

From the rest, we need only keep players that may be useful as back-up in the Prem should we get promoted next season. They have all proved they are not good enough to be starters. There’s probably 4 or 5 that would fit that bill.

The rest need to be gone for whatever we can get for them and Dragan needs to be shrewd in who he spends his money on and how SR use the other clubs in there collection to move players about on loan.

The odds are against us but we need to start building a team for the Prem and not just for promotion.

Just looked down the squad list - can’t see many being on the shopping list of other clubs. How on earth did we manage to acquire such mediocrity ??

This is the problem.  It's all very well wanting a complete overhaul but you've got to get other clubs to want to buy them at prices that don't leave us with a massive loss.  I'm not averse to keeping Downes but if he's surplus then who on earth is going to pay anywhere near what we paid?  Same with Archer and Armstrong (although you can argue we no longer need to recoup what we paid for Armstrong).  I guess there's still a fair few we won't need to get much money for and getting them off the wage bill will be beneficial.  KWP is already off but Aribo, Taylor, Stephens, Bednarek, Bree, ABK, Smallbone and Manning could all leave for fairly small amounts and not hit us in the pocket too much.

Probably unrealistic to expect an almost complete overhaul but hopefully we get a pretty decent turnover.

I'd like to see the gaps left since SR's first window addressed.

Replacements for Romeu and Ings. Focus on building a spine to our first team, rather than buying in bulk on the off chance one comes good.

SR are going to have to come to terms that their recruitment is going to face agents who want massive wages for their clients, and competing clubs. Putting their eggs all in baskets as with Gakpo/Gomez, Delap etc is going to leave them looking ...well, just like we do.

SR have let down every one of the managers, by not giving them the tools to field a competitive team. They don't mind spending more as long as individual wages are lower. Much more, even if it costs them two relegations. But their recruitment has little depth when they chase targets and fail to get them over the line.

Our first team next season wood look something like:-

GK - Ramsdale 28

DR - Sugawara 28
DL - Manning 27

DC - Bednerak 27
DC - THB 28

DMC - Romeu replacement
MC - Downes 28

AML - Edozie 27
AMR - Armstrong 27
AMC- Fernandes 29

FC - Ings replacement

Any replacements to the above need to be replaced with someone SR consider to be PL ready.

That leaves the rest. Several will be just fine for a season in the Championship, and give some competition to the above.  Dibling would be in there, but probably the one that all parties would look to get a move for. Others are still young and can hopefully push for a first team place, particularly Charles and Edwards. those with '26 contracts expiring will be the ones SR looks to resolve quickest. Clears the wage bill a bit, if all parties can move on.

Replacements should be with a view to giving PL competition for the first 11. Their usual frittering away on loads of fringe players shouldn't detract from that.

GK - McCarthy 26, Bazunu 27

DR - Bree 26
DL - Taylor 26, Larios 27 (U21),Welington ?

DC - Stephens 26, Edwards 28 (U21), Wood 28, Bella-Kotchap 26

DMC - Charles 27, Bragg 26
MC - Smallbone 26

AML -Sulemana 27, Fraser 26, Juan?
AMR - Dibling 27 (U21)
AMC- Akachukwu ?, O'Brien-Whitmarsh 27 (U21), Aribo 26

SC -Archer 28,  Robinson 27 (U21), Ballard 26

FC - Stewart 26, Brereton Diaz 28, Onuachu 26
